Farm to Face Treatment Masks with Foreo UFO 2

FOREO sent me not just the Basic Duo Mask collection to use, but the complete Advanced and Farm to Face Collection Treatment masks for review purposes. RECAP: What is the UFO 2? Let’s step back a bit and talk about sheet masks. As you know, I primarily review K-Beauty (Korean Beauty) skincare products which include facial sheet masks. I believe Japanese brands had facial sheet masks before KBeauty, but it was the immense popularity of Kbeauty that made sheet masking a common skincare step in millions of people’s routines. Facial sheet masks use a material ~ whether it is cotton, tencel, hydrogel, bio-celluose or others, which is soaked in essence, then you apply and leave on this full face mask for about 20-30 minutes on your face, leaving your skin softer, smoother and hydrated. HUGE CHANGES with their latest App upgrade!! No longer do we have to scan in the mask’s bar code to select the treatment. FOREO has provided all of the masks in their app and you choose the one you are using. This is a HUGE improvement. I was saving those mask packages and creating a folder with the bar code, in case I wanted to use the treatment for another mask ~ also, it was a pain to select the mask you were using and THEN have to scan in the bar code. This is so great ~ I love the app is more user friendly and customizable.

There are only 8 programmable areas on the UFO 2 and two of those are already pre-programmed with Make My Day and Call It A Night. You can also create your own custom treatment with a time duration of your choice spanning 90 to 180 seconds and one LED light choice ~ you will chose the gold box with the gear wheel and then select your options. You can still use it manually, making sure that you do not open up and connect the app to your device ~ you just need to remember which LED area has your programmed treatment.

I like to get my UFO 2 set up with the mask inserted before starting with the treatment. You just remove the UFO PowerActivated Mask from the packet and then take the clear attachment ring off the UFO 2. Place the mask round on UFO 2’s gold flat surface and then place the clear attachment ring back onto the UFO 2, making sure that everything lines up and it will snap back into place.

Just follow the instructions on the app ~ it is pretty easy ~ just need to turn on your UFO 2 and the app will guide you through the instructions ~ you will need to sync your UFO 2 with the app and then it will wait while you applied the mask round to the device, if you already haven’t. Select the mask treatment and the time duration you want and UFO 2 will select the appropriate treatment for the mask, then the UFO 2 will take it from there. Here is my tip ~ the UFO PowerActivated Masks are FULL of a lovely essence. A LOT of it ~ in fact, when I remove the sheet round, it is dripping in essence with tons left in the packet. After my first two minute treatment, I just remove the attachment ring, flip the mask round over so it is clean, snap back the clear attachment ring and squeeze the remaining packet essence onto that round. I then start my second two minute treatment. No waste here! Once you are done, just remove the mask round and rinse the device and ring under water ~ yes, this baby is wrapped in silicone so it is 100% waterproof

I cannot praise this device enough ~ I really feel like I received a mini facial. This is totally different from just using a sheet mask, as you get pulsations, different LED light treatments, heating and cooling therapies. I honestly feel this is a necessary part of my skincare routine, as I believe this device helps the essence penetrate deeper in to my skin. I will say that the Farm to Face Collection has been a real joy to use and I really like them a lot!

Bulgarian Rose Mask is a hydrating mask that gives skin a radiant glow. As I am allergic to Rose, I cannot tell you the effects, but I did run the FOREO UFO 2 device thru the treatment plan to get the information.

Results: Despite the lightweight texture, this is very moisturizing and smoothing. There is still a lot of creamy essence on my skin that hasn’t fully absorbed after the treatment, but I just pat it in. Surprisingly enough, and surprising enough, this does absorb quickly leaving radiant, not greasy skin behind

Results: The mask is hard to apply as there is so much essence. The essence it isn’t sticky ~ there is just a lot of it that causes the mask to slipper, transparent and gelatinous. Initial cooling sensation. The essence absorbs into my skin, but this treatment does leave my skin very dewy looking with a sticky finish. Within a few minutes, the masks effects do tamper down and while my skin doesn’t feel sticky to touch, I can still feel a protective barrier. The dewy glow is still there so this is good for drier skin types than mine for a day treatment ~ I like using this one at nighttime.

It is an anti-aging ingredient as it is supposed to help the facial muscles relax and prevent expression lines/wrinkles and it is considered to be safer than botox.

Results: My skin felt moisturized, plumped up and very smooth with no sticky or tacky residue. My skin was so smooth that it felt like I just used a primer, so I do know this put a protective film on my skin.

Green Tea Mask is a purifying, soothing and rejuvenating treatment, full of antioxidants to help condition the skin. Helps with excess oiliness and blemishes.

- Japanese green tea is full of powerful anti-oxidants ~ due to its high concentration of polyphenols and catechins ,tannins and flavonoid, s green tea helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, has anti-bacterial benefits as well as acting as an astringent, retaining skin moisture and hydration.
- Japanese elm root bark has been used as a medicinal herb in Korea for anti-inflammatory benefits and to help skin issues.

Essence: Lots of clear gel, stringy texture and the mask round is gelatinous and more transparent than the other mask rounds, due to all of this essence

Results: This is for oily skin. I don’t recommend this if you have dry skin as it will mattify your skin like nothing else! This leaves my skin soft and very smooth, pores looked so small and tight. Not a lot of hydration afterwards as it really did remove excess oil, so follow up with a moisturizer.

Cannabis Seed Oil Mask is a soothing, anti-inflammatory mask that also brightens skin tone while providing hydration and reduces redness for acne prone skin. Great for blemish prone, oily and stressed skin.

Essence: Very lightweight almost translucent white essence but not as dense as the coconut
Scent: Beautiful earthy green scent

- Cyan LED: Anti-inflammatory, calms stressed skin, promotes healing, reduces the size of swollen capillaries and blocks pain

Therapy: Cryo (Cool) Therapy
T-Sonic: Yes
Results: I love the cooling treatment on this one as my skin feels so refreshed. My skin is initially very shiny and it does take about a couple of minutes for all of that shine to reduce. My skin looks very glowy and plumped up ~ however, this is not a mattifying, oil controlling mask like the Green Tea treatment. I like to use this one mask treatment first and then the Green Tea treatment mask in the morning, fo a full anti-inflammatory, oil controlling treatment. I found that using both of those masks back to back really helped with reducing pain and inflammation caused by budding blemishes.

If you want to use your FOREO UFO 2 device with treatments outside of their PowerActivated Masks, you can use this with regular sheet masks ~ as there are sheet masks I like with specific ingredients that aren’t in the FOREO UFO PowerActivated Masks. It won’t work with all sheet masks as it is the material that is the issue. You cannot use this with hydrogels, bio-cellulose, uber thin masks, but you can use it with normal cotton plush type masks. Just apply the sheet mask over your face as usual and then manually select a program from the UFO 2 device and start your treatment. My friend Madayn at IG @madalynwrp also uses cotton round pads soaked in her favorite toner or essence and attaches that to the UFO 2 device. We are a creative bunch!

The FOREO UFO 2 is $279.00 USD but this is an investment for your skin and I factor in regular spa facial costs. I am not saying you give up your spa facials, but wouldn’t it be nice to have a daily mini treatment in the convenience of your own home? The UFO 2 was on my list already to purchase during Black Friday, as I was ready to step up my at-home facial treatments. I was just fortunate that FOREO offered it to me for review purposes. This comes with a 2 year warranty, where FOREO will replace the unit free of charge ~ you just need to activate the warranty once you receive it at your FOREO account.

FOREO also has several UFO’s beside the UFO 2, which is the Star of the UFO range. There is a UFO 2 Mini, which cannot use all of the UFO PowerActivated Masks, for $179.00. The old UFO series is also there ~ UFO at $199.00 and UFO mini at $99.00. As I never tried any UFO’s before the UFO 2, I cannot tell you how they would compare to the UFO 2 experience. Please pay attention to which masks work with which device as there are some that do not work on the Mini’s.
