Courtesy of online K-Beauty store Coreelle and Bazzaal, I was offered the chance to select a few products from a new skincare brand, House of Dohwa. “Dohwagain” (House of Dohwa) means a “person as beautiful as a peach flower” and this is an eco-friendly, cruelty-free skincare brand. Their key ingredient is locally and ethically sourced South Korean wild rice, blending nine of the best strains of rice bran extract that is grown using traditional methods. They have a lineup consisting of toner, day moisturizer, sleeping mask and two wash off masks. These products were received complementary in exchange for an honest review.
I received these products complementary to review and was not paid. All reviews are my own honest opinion and I never have been asked to write copy for a brand. Rice bran water is full of amino acids, vitamins, minerals and other nourishing compounds to help clear your skin, improve the appearance of pores, stimulates cellular renewal, treat acne ~ and if that wasn’t enough ~ has skin brightening and firming benefits. Rice contains γ-oryzanol, which is a potent antioxidant that can slow the production of hyper-pigmentation and prevent freckles and age spots. Rice Bran Toner is the type of rice toner for those who want one that is watery, yet hydrating, unscented and not fermented. I love my rice toners, whether they are fermented or not, milky or watery. This not only contains the nine types of rice bran extracts, but some really lovely hydrating and clarifying ingredients. Hinoki cypress (chamaecyparis obtusa) has antiseptic, anti fungal and antiviral properties to heal blemishes and minor skin issues, like abrasions and rashes, and purifying your skin. Willow bark is a natural salicylic acid (beta hydroxy acid) and will help exfoliate dead skin cells and is an anti-inflammatory
Glycerin will moisturize and hydrate the skin, leaving your face feeling smooth and soft. Amino acid arginine promotes healing and detoxes your skin. It also helps guard against the formation of wrinkles and loss of skin firmness. Allantoin moisturizes, exfoliates and softens skin, making it look smooth and refined, while reducing and relieving irritation. Another amino acid, betaine, is a humectant and anti-irritant, providing silky smooth skin while soothing and calming the skin..
Adenosine is a yeast derived, amino acid and it became popular after it was found to help improve the reduction of wrinkles, smoothing your skin and anti-inflammatory. Adenosine is safe to use day and night, unlike vitamin C and retinol. Chrysanthemumcontains a high concentration of vitamin A so it can help with soothing irritated skin, as it is an anti-inflammatory with antiseptic benefits. Lemon balm helps to help wounds quickly and also prevent new blemishes.
This comes in a huge 500 mL bottle and it has a slight milky look to it in an otherwise clear liquid, if that makes sense. It has no scent to it and it is very watery. I use this liberally all over my face and neck, as this is one great hydrating toner. It doesn’t sting, absorbs quickly and keeps my skin fresh and hydrated! This has a pH level of 5, so it is mildly acidic and good for your skin. I love using this with DIY masks too ~ either using cotton pads or compressed dried mask pods, this toner will help keep my skin soft and less irritated. It is also great to use after a chemical exfoliation treatment as well.

Rice Wash Off Facial Mask is a creamy gentle mask that softly scrubs away dead skin cells. This product contains all of the rice ingredients ~ water, powder, ferments and extracts. The white shade comes from titanium dioxide, The rice is the star of the mask and not only does this have that soft texture, but it does smell like freshly cooked rice, making me hungry. I use this in the morning when I need to whisk away some dead skin cells and flaky skin from my tret treatments. It is not harsh at ALL. I love the packaging for the wash off masks ~ they come in this flexible plastic bottles that remind me of IV bags, only smaller. They are re-closable with a twist off cap. It also is a skin brightener and can help even out your skin tone by inhibiting the production of melanin.
This wash off mask is in a watery gel like formula that is a light orange shade ~ it has a very faint yeasty scent to it,. It is very runny and even with a thick layer, it looks like I didn’t apply anything on my skin ~ haha. I only use this around my T Zone, but it is so gentle, I could use it all over my face without any stinging or irritation. It has a nice cooling effect and this has a pH level of about 5.5 ~ with enzymes, however, it isn’t really about the pH level, like acids. I felt that this did do a nice job of tidying up my T-Zone area, removing dirt and excess oils. I found that my T-Zone pores looked smaller in appearance as well.

It should also firm and restore elasticity to your skin while strengthening your skin barrier to help prevent damage from environmental factors.
This has some essential oils in here with lavender and bergamot, but I do not detect any major fragrance with this sleeping mask. The texture is so smooth and slippery, very much a lightweight gel cream. It really absorbs quickly into my skin without leaving it sticky or tacky. In fact, this is so lightweight, I have used it as a day cream! Why not? My oily skin really loves this moisturizer. When I use it as a sleeping mask pack, my skin is so soft and smooth in the morning with no clogged pores or breakouts. One issue though ~ if it is really dry where you live, you do need to make sure your skin has other more occlusive creams applied before you apply this sleeping mask pack. The humidity in my home is really low right now, last time I checked it was not even 20%, so my skin is really drying out overnight. I think this sleeping mask pack is perfect for the warmer months or if you live in a very humid area.
