What’s In Your Aroma Box?

One of my oils seemed to leak a bit, so the label is all messed up.

All of the essential oils, unless otherwise noted, have a screw top lid and there is a plastic lid inside that has a tube, so that you don’t spill out all of your oil if you drop the bottle (and it doesn’t break).  I also like that the oils are in dark cobalt blue glass bottles to help protect them from UV rays and light.

Clove Bud (eugenia caryophyllata) Pure Essential Oil   Ahh, this is the oil that looks like it leaked or got leaked on. The label is obliterated here.  This is the clove bud oil and I LOVE clove oil ~ I use it for tooth aches and pains and I also like to run a drop or two thru my hair as it smells so wonderful.  This is 100% natural… BUT this doesn’t smell much like clove oil to me.  It is a dank scent and it is not spicy at all. I am pretty disappointed with this oil, as clove is one of my favorites and this just doesn’t smell like clove oil to me.  This is 100% pure, natural and vegan, bottled in the USA.  5 mL RV $4.70

Description:  Traditionally used for warming, stimulating, antiseptic, analgesic, anti-parasitic, anti-fungal properties. Commonly used to treat toothaches and repels moths.  Eugenol, clove’s main constituent, is often used in the medical field, particularly as a local anesthetic in dentistry.  In a diffuser, clove may stimulate and revive a tired mind and body.  In parts of Central America, it is believed that clove dispels the demons of diseases.

Ingredients: 100% Pure Eugenia caryophyllata (Clove Bud) Essential Oil.

  • Origin: Indonesia
  • Parts Used: Bud
  • Extraction Method: Steam Distilled
  • Food Chemical Codex: Yes
  • Blends Well With: Bay, Clary Sage, Geranium, Ginger, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang

Patchouli (pogostemon cablin) Pure Essential Oil   Okay, this is more like it ~ this is patchouli and either you love the scent or you don’t.  I love patchouli with its earthy, warm and sensual scent and this one might be good for those who don’t like the heavy scent.  I say this because this scent isn’t as pungent and is not as heavy as a lot of patchouli scents.  Make no mistake, it is patchouli, that hippy dippy incense scent, but it has a lighter hand.  Patchouli is in a lot of anti-aging skincare, as it helps with fine lines and wrinkles ~ so add a few drops to your skin care products!  100% natural and vegan with no additives, bottled in the USA.   5 mL RV $4.55

Description:  Traditionally used as a tissue regenerative, to close pores, soothe itchy skin, aid scars and wrinkles, reduce inflammation, deodorant and to repel moths and other pests. Traditionally used as an aphrodisiac, euphoric, relaxant and calmative. Patchouli is said to closely resemble male pheromones, making this essential oil an aphrodisiac. This patchouli essential oil is steam distilled in stainless steel, instead of iron, leaving a cleaner and beautifully rich scent.

Ingredients: 100% Pure Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) Essential Oil.

Ylang Ylang (cananga odorata) Pure Essential Oil  Ahh, I love Ylang Ylang.  I have memories of my mom with a solid perfume compact that had Ylang Ylang in it ~ it was made by Coty and was called Sweet Earth Natural Cream Perfumes ~ she had the one that had Hyacinth, Honeysuckle and Ylang Ylang and Ylang Ylang was my favorite.

This oil is so beautiful and it smells just like Ylang Ylang.  I found a recipe on how to make a solid perfume and I am going to see if I can create one with Ylang Ylang ~ it reminds me of my youth and for some weird reason, Renaissance Festive Fairs!   Another 100% natural, non-GMO and vegan/vegetarian oil, bottle in the USA by Herb Stop.  5 mL  RV $11.40

Emotionally, Ylang Ylang balances the nervous system and is commonly used for stress, insomnia, depression, low self-esteem, anger, rage, panic and pre-test anxiety.

Love Potion Roll On  Every month, we get a custom blend roll on perfume oil ~ these roll on’s have properties that aren’t just for fragrance, but to help with targeted concerns.  This one fits into the aphrodisiacs category and it does contain both patchouli and ylang ylang, the male and female pheromones.  I can really smell the patchouli along with the grapefruit and the dry down of ylang ylang.  This is very sensual and inviting. Hmmm, think I might attract this guy?  In my dreams!!

 yeah baby, Richard Armitage

Despite the disappointment over the lack of cloveiness in my clove oil, I really did love this box ~ Ylang Ylang brings back powerful memories for me and I love that scent. Patchouli is another scent I really enjoy and I like the lighter touch with this oil and finally, Love Potion is fabulous and sexy!  I paid $19.99 for this and received a value of  $39.60, which included a custom blend recipe roll on.  Please note, essentials oils are not to replace seeing a doctor if you have serious ailments or issues.  However, aromatherapy, scents and herbal tinctures/oils have been used for centuries with great success.   I would never state that this should replace seeing your doctor, but if you know your body and you have discussed this with your doctor, you should be able to use essential oils for minor treatments.  If you are interested in subscribing, you can do so here and use promo code BFFM15  to receive 15% off your first box!
