September 2016 Peaches & Petals Unboxing + Promo Code

Peaches & Petals is a subscription service that is focused on lifestyle and beauty products.  From their website  “Experience our world of fun, flirty and fashionable vintage-modern lifestyle in a hand-curated box delivered to you each month. ”  This box was sent to me for review purposes from Peaches & Petals and I thank them for their generosity as always 🙂  I am always appreciative of companies who look for honest feedback on their services.

The September 2016 theme is “Cuteness Overload” and the spoiler for this month was a pair of Mermaid socks ~ how cute!

Explanation on valuing products:  Since Peaches & Petals does not give a value on their products,  I normally will use the Retail Value from the vendor’s site or an average if I find the product on multiple sites with varying prices.  Subscription boxes are usually basing their value on Retail Value, not Markdown or Sale Values.  With that in mind, you can usually find products for less, just like anything else in the marketplace.

Mermaid Socks  These are really cute!  Very bright vibrant colors, saturated with pink, red and orange “scales” with a purpleish “fin” at the toes ~ the aqua blue, I am assuming, is the water. These are a thick stretchy polyster and they fit my feet and legs just fine!  I wear a size 8 1/2 wide and they went on perfectly.   These stopped at my knee ~ they are supposed to fit from a size 4 to a size 12 in women’s shoes and they are 20 inches in length and 4 inches in width.  These are a little late in the season for me to wear, but next year, with shorts and a top, they will be really cute!  Retail Value $13.95  (prices range from $3.00 to $18.00 on various online shops)

Unicorn Pillow Case Cover  This is made with a neutral burlap like material, with a rainbow and unicorn printed on the front and the statement “Girl, Please, I’m a Unicorn”   It is cute, but I wish I had a little girl to give this too as the style is just not me.  My taste runs from the totally horribly funny (where marshmallows come from) or the classic tapestry look.  Either of these two designs would have pleased me beyond belief:

However, this pillow cover is very well made and has a nice invisible zipper on the end so you can stuff a pillow inside.  It measures about 18″ by 18″  I couldn’t find a pillow case cover like this one exactly, so I estimate the retail value to be between $8.00 and $10.00

Grumpy Cat Coin Pouch  OMG, this is so me and so cute!!  I love this grumpy gray cat ~ it is like my girl kitty if she squashed her face up to a window to give me the evil eye!!  You cannot go wrong by putting cat products in my boxes.  I have become a krazy kat lady (well, I’ve always been one, but it is okay now to admit it ~ lol) and I love cat centric stuff.  This pouch measures 10.5cm x 11.5cm and the front has the cat face printed on it and the back is a plush grey material.  This has a top zipper and the lining inside is a cheery floral print.

I love this!  RV  $3.73

Totes Adorbs Tote Bag  This tote bag is very cute, but the material is very lightweight.  I won’t use this to tote anything, but to store my velco curlers ~ I would be afraid of ripping this.  The words “Totes Adorbs” in a text bubble appear in gold against a black background.  Every time I see or hear “Totes Adorbs”, I am reminded of one of my favorite commercials (totes mcgotes…)

This tote bag is made in India, so I assume the material would be either rayon or cotton (but don’t quote me) and it measures about 16 1/4  X 14 inches without the handle.  I couldn’t find a retail value for this, so I will estimate it to be around $9.00

American Greetings Folding Mailable Notes This is my surprise item and I really like it!  It contains 20 notecards with 2 different designs and stickers.  You write on one side of the page and then fold it up in thirds, secure with the sticker and then write the address on the other side.  Pretty cute!  This is also very nicely designed too ~ the cards and stickers are inside the booklet, which has a velcro tab closure.  Inside, one side has all of the note cards and the other side has a flap where the stickers reside ~ you could put a pen and stamps in here as well.

This is great if you travel and want to send a quick greeting to a friend!  Great concept and I will use these.  The designs are botanical and I really like the simplicity of these notes.   BTW – it looks like cards and mailing cards out to friends are back in vogue again!  Check out this Boston Globe article 🙂   RV $9.99

I knew this month’s box could be a hit or miss, because of the “cute” theme.  I love Kawaii items, but that is a different genre than what I received in this month’s box.  I did really enjoy the socks, kitty coin pouch (now, that is adorable!) and the note card set.  The tote bag is just too small and lightweight to be a tote bag for me, but I will use it for lightweight items that I use daily.  The only item that I cannot use is the pillow case, as it really isn’t my style, but it is very well made.  Peaches & Petals monthly subscription boxes are $19.99 a month and that includes shipping.   This month, the box looks to be of  a retail value of between $45.00 to $47.00 in retail value  Many thanks to Miranda for sending me this box to review ~ I always look forward to seeing what P&P puts in their boxes 🙂  Did you receive this month’s Peaches & Petals box?  What was your favorite item and what do you think of it?

If you subscribe to Peaches and Petals currently, you could win a $50.00 Starbucks gift card by posting a photo of your unboxing ~ see below on the rules.

October’s theme looks to be FANTASTIC!! Pumpkin, Spice & Everything Nice!

These codes are only valid on the monthly subscription option and will not work on a 3, 6 or 12 month option at Peaches and Petals.
