A Trio of Easter Eggs: Urang Ampoules Review

URANG (Ultimate Radiant + Natural Glow) is a mix of natural, organic and aromatherapy and it shows with their formulas. They contain safe ingredients suitable for all ages and use a unique blend of proven botanicals and natural sources.  URANG skincare line contains an average of 88% of organic ingredients and 99.89% of natural ingredients. Organic is a specific term in the industry and it was grown without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, irradiation, genetic engineering and so on. Organic means that the farms involved use systems that will help enhance the soil, biodiversity and other criteria and the organic term must certified as such.  Natural means they are minimally processed ingredients and do not contain any hormones, antibiotics or artificial flavors.

URANG only uses ingredients that are low hazard, according to EWG and their organic ingredients are certified by two of the leading providers of organic services,  the Certified by Soil Association Certification Limited and National Organic Program.  URANG’s floral waters are preservative free and imported from the UK.  Urang is cruelty-free brand and offers several vegan skincare products.

URANG uses natural, high quality ingredients from mostly natural sources and essential oils blended by an aromatherapist, so their skincare products will help moisturize and nourish your skin, keeping it fresh and healthy.   I received the following products for review purposes.

Skin Type/Concerns: Oily, blemish prone, aging, hyper-pigmentation, fine lines/wrinkles

Reformulated Pink Everlasting Ampoule

I was very lucky to get my hands on the reformulated Urang Pink Everlasting Ampoule.  I am a huge fan of the Pink Everlasting Ampoule  ~ click here for original review ~ and I have purchased it three times since its release back in the fall of 2018.  Urang reformulated my Pink Bae so they did send it to me for review purposes.

This ampoule still contains 81.7% of Helichrysum Italicum, otherwise known as Everlasting or Immortelle, is best known for its high levels of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. It helps combat free radicals, aiding in slowing down aging skins of fine lines and  wrinkles, while helping to repair and provide nutrition and elasticity to damaged skin, restoring cells, while reducing the appearance of scars, fine lines, wrinkles and even hyper-pigmentation

For centuries, this was used as a medicinal plant due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, healing and antibacterial benefits as well as being full of flavonoids and diketones (helps with fading scars).  Since this flower is an antibacterial and anti-fungal ~ and add that with its soothing and calming benefits, this is an ingredient that is really good for blemish prone skin too.  Helichrysum Italicum is a rare plant that is only found in a few spots around the globe and Urang sources its Helichrysum Italicum from the mountains of Sardinia, Italy and it is steam distilled into oil and water.  It takes 1 ton (1000 kg) of Helichrysum Italicum flowers to produce 1 kg of Helichrysum Italicum oil and 1 bottle (1000kg)  of Helichrysum Italicum flowers to produce 200 to 250 grams of Helichrysum Italicum flower water.  Urang Pink Everlasting Ampoule contains 81.7% Helichrysum Italicum flower water along with Helichrysum Italicum flower oil.

Healing and soothing centella, hydrating humectants sucrose, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate and amino acid betaine are still in here ~ in fact, the only changes are that three ingredients were removed and two new ones were added.  Urang replaced the silk amino acids and hydrolyzed collagen with hydrolyzed quinoa, which helps hydrate and bind moisture to your skin. This ingredient is used in anti-aging skin care, as it is packed with nutritious vitamins, minerals and fatty acids. It contains eight  essential amino acids and it helps repair damage while providing a protective barrier on your skin⁣

The other change was with the vitamin B12 ingredient:  swapping synthetic cyanocobalamin with the naturally occurring methylcobalamin. Vitamin B12 helps strengthen your skin and acts as an anti-inflammatory. The pink shade in Pink Everlasting Ampoule is due to the vitamin B12 as well.  The reformulated shade  is much more vibrant ~ changing from a pale baby pink to a brighter hot pink with methylcobalamin. So, I think Urang wanted to eliminate the non-vegan sources ~ silk, collagen ~  and also replace the synthetic with natural to make this ampoule more in line with their brand⁣’s vision.

Original Formula

🌀Contains: Silk Amino Acids, Hydrolyzed Collagen, vitamin B12 Cyanocobalamin
🌀Color: Pale baby pink from Vitamin B12⁣
🌀Scent: Citrus-lavender
🌀Texture: Slick viscosity, lightweight

🌀Contains: Hydrolyzed Quinoa, vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin
🌀Color: Brighter and deeper hue of pink from Vitamin B12⁣
🌀Scent: More grapefruit citrusy. I cannot pick up the lavender anymore
🌀Texture: More gelly-like, a bit thicker but still lightweight

The new formula is a bit more thicker and gelly like, but still has that slippery slick viscosity to it but it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. In fact, once I got over the initial texture and patted into my skin, I didn’t notice a difference between the two ~ there is no sticky residue with this as well. My skin feels very soft, smooth and hydrated, leaving that same lovely glow to my skin as the original formula. I am always a bit worried when I see “reformulated” with a product I love dearly but Urang didn’t let me down. This really has the same results as the original formula, so I will be continuing to repurchase my beloved Pink Everlasting Ampoule⁣

Reformulated Ingredients: Helichrysum Italicum Flower Water(81.7%)*, Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Glycerin*, Betaine, Centella Asiatica Extract*,Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Sclerotium Gum, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil*, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Sucrose, Helichrysum Italicum Flower Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*, Methylcobalamin  *Organic ingredient cosDNA

Blue Power Ampoule

Urang Blue Power Ampoule  is another favorite of mine! This ampoule is for strengthening the skin barrier and repairing your damaged skin. Containing 92.6% concentrated organic Eastern prickly pear, grown locally in Cheongyang, South Korea, this anti-inflammatory ingredient helps moisturize, soften, soothes and protect your skin against dryness and irritation caused by pollution. It also removes surface dead skin cells, revealing brighter, clearer skin⁣

What else is in here? Vitamin rich antioxidant quinoa protein contains enzymes, so it has exfoliating properties that will help cellular turnover and renewal, revealing new, healthy skin. This also has candeia tree derived alpha-bisabolol, German chamomile and calendula for brightening, soothing, healing anti-inflammatory skincare. Melissa officinalis (lemon balm) helps to heal wounds quickly and also prevent new blemishes. This doesn’t contain mineral oil, synthetic fragrances or additives

The essence has a gel type texture ~ compared to the Pink Everlasting Ampoule, this is much more lightweight. It has a beautiful herbal scent, which must be the chamomile, calendula and lemon balm ~ and it is BLUE. It is a periwinkle blue shade, so pretty and delicate looking, naturally derived from the German chamomile. This essence is very slick and slippery, but it absorbs nicely without any sticky or oily residue on my very oily skin ~ and best of all, my skin feels refreshed ~ something about this ampoule is cooling on my skin

I love how hydrating and skin smoothing this product is ~ it gives my skin a silky feel and leaves my skin with a healthy glow. I am more than halfway done with this ampoule, which tells you how much I have been reaching for it!! Another winner from Urang!

Ingredients: Opuntia Humifusa Flower/Stem Extract (92.6%)*, Pentylene Glycol, Betaine, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Sodium Hyaluronate, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Rosa Rugosa Leaf Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Sclerotium Gum, Water, (-)-alpha-bisabolol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil, Limonene  * Organic ingredient  cosDNA

Yuja Vita Ampoule

I took my time testing this one due to the brightening effects claims.  Yuji Vita Ampoule is made with 85.06% organic yuja water , 1% yuja oil and .04% yuja peel oil, all sourced from Geoje Island, South Korea.  Yuja ~ citrus junos, also known as yuzu in Japan ~ it a citrus fruit that is very popular in Eastern Asia. It has been used as a traditional medicine as well as in skincare for centuries. Yuja is known to help soften and smooth skin that is dry or irritated. Since it is rich in Vitamin C at three times the amount of lemons, it also is an antioxidant, combating free radicals and helping to reverse from the damage to your skin. It also brightens your skin overall while reducing hyper-pigmentation marks. Yuja is good for oily, dehydrated skin as it helps hydrate and balance the oil/moisture in your skin.   It also has an uplifting citrus scent as well.

A trio of hyaluronic acids makes this ampoule:  sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid  and hyaluronic acid.  This complex will help attract and retain moisture, deeply improve hydration to your skin and helps supply nutrition and strengthen your cell barrier. Humectant betaine is an amino acid  is an anti-irritant, providing silky smooth skin and soothes and calms skin.   Just like the Blue Power Ampoule, this also has candeia tree derived alpha-bisabolol, German chamomile and calendula for brightening, soothing, healing anti-inflammatory skincare.

I was a bit surprised at the milky color and creamy texture of this ampoule, as for some reason I was thinking it would be a bright yellow clear gel.  I also thought that this might be the thickest of the ampoule trio, but I was wrong there as well!  This has a delightful scent of lemony citrus and it is the strongest scented product of the trio but it isn’t overpowering.

I did do a pH test on this ampoule due to the vitamin C and brightening claims and this looks to be between a 5 and 5.5, so whereas it is mildly acidic, it is not a quick, hardcore vitamin C treatment.  On the upside, the pH level is gentle.

The texture is surprisingly lightweight and spreads quickly and easily, with no sticky or oily residue.  It feels very hydrating on my skin, which is due to the humectants in here.   I did not experience any stinging or irritation, nor flushing with this ampoule; in fact, it helped cool and calm down my skin.  As far as brightening skin, I didn’t really notice a difference with my skin tone in terms of evening it out, but I did notice my skin looked more refreshed when I used this.  I think this is more of a skin barrier strengthener, hydrating and calming product rather than a skin brightener for me.

Ingredients: Citrus Junos Fruit Water (85.06%)*, Pentylene Glycol, Glycerin*, Water, Glyceryl Caprylate, Betaine, Citrus Junos Fruit Oil (1%), Sclerotium Gum, (-)-alpha-bisabolol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower*, Calendula Officinalis Flower*, Glyceryl Undecylenate, Citrus Junos Peel Oil (0.04%), Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Citric Acid, Limonene, Linalool*  *Organic ingredient  cosDNA

Bonus Review: Perfect Daily Mist

I have tried this before, but wow, this got a 💫glow-up in the packaging!! The original version was in a tin bottle, but this new one is a lovely frosted glass bottle and etched white lettering along with a silver cap and pump applicator. The ingredients also changed a bit, with the last original three ingredients ~ zanthoxylum piperitum fruit, pulsatilla koreana and usnea barbata ~ being replaced with Hinoki cypress, rosa rugosa and lemon balm. Consisting of 99.9% natural derived ingredients, 🐇cruelty free, 🍃vegan and  free of synthetic fragrances, additives, harmful chemicals or preservatives

This is still made with 44.88% organic neroli hydrosol extracted from bitter orange blossoms.  Neroli aids in the suppleness of your skin, soothes and is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, helping to combat free radicals and protect your skin against environmental stress & pollution, reducing inflammation and redness. It is also one of the few citrus plants that isn’t photo-toxic and it will help aid in collagen production. Chamomile water calms and  reduces redness effectively as it has antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to relieve skin issues and irritations because it soothes and lessens swelling and redness, while healing skin and stimulating cellular renewal

The new ingredients in this formula are also great for oily and blemish prone skin: Hydrating Hinoki cypress has antiseptic, anti-fungal and antiviral properties to heal blemishes and minor skin issues and purifying your skin. Lemon balm helps to help wounds quickly and also prevent new blemishes. Rosa rugosa is a soothing ingredient that helps calm blemishes or infected skin⁣

Perfect Daily Mist has a pH level of around a 4.5 to 5, so it is mildly acidic. This mist does have the scent of neroli, which is green, sweet, metallic and has a bit of spice to it. For me, this is one of the most refreshing scents out there and it reminds me of summer⁣.  The pump is slightly forceful, so make sure to hold this 8- 10 inches away from your face before spraying if you just want to mist ~ initially, I use this closer to my face as I want to be drenched with this toner, but when I reapply it during the day, I hold it further back just to lightly mist. It is cooling & soothing, hydrating and refreshing. This mist also provides sebum care as neroli works to balance the oil/moisture levels in your skin⁣. I am loving this mist all over again and I love the new formula!

Ingredients: citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) flower water (44.88%), purified water, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) extract, glycerin, betaine, chamaecyparis obtusa leaf extract, rosa rugosa leaf extract, melissa officinalis leaf extract cosDNA

Where To Purchase

Out of the three ampoules, I did enjoy them ALL ~ but if I had to put them in order of preference, it would be the same as the order of the review!  Pink Everlasting Ampoule will be one that I will repurchase, time and time again, followed closely by Blue Power Ampoule.  Yuja Vita Ampoule is very NICE and I love its scent,  but since it performed similarly to the Blue Power Ampoule, the Blue Power won over it.  Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of these.  The Perfect Daily Mist is PERFECT for oily skinned folks like myself who cannot use rose mists.
