Innisfree Autumn Maple ….

I have a lipstick problem, how about you?  I love matte lipsticks and liquid matte lipsticks the best.  I also love the Korean formulas for matte liquid lippies as they manage to create ones that go on creamy, smooth and the dry down doesn’t cake or crack.  Not only that, but they leave behind a great stain!  I really love the brand Innisfree (see all my reviews here) and I do love their makeup, not just their skin care.  They just released an Autumn Maple Collection in their Vivid Cotton Ink series, with several shades.  Thanks to K-Beauty online store Jolse, I was able to try out one of the latest colors for review purposes.

I received some of these products complementary to review and was not paid.  All reviews are my own honest opinion and  I never have been asked to write copy for a brand.  This blog post might contain promo codes, affiliate and referral links, which using my links will help generate a small commission that helps support my blog at no extra cost to you.

My skin type and concerns:  doesn’t really pertain to this review ~ hahaha.

The description for the Autumn Maple Collection states they are moody MLBB (my lips but better) shades.  Vivid Cotton Ink is pretty descriptive too ~ Innisfree calls it a tint, but it really is a liquid lipstick that has a smooth “cotton-like” texture and turns matte once it dries down.  The colors in this collection are inspired by autumn maple leaves, which can range from fiery oranges to sunset reds.

I chose #13 Sunset Scarlet Maple, which is a brick red coral shade

This has a lot of oils in here ~ camellia, mango, avocado, cotton, argan, apricot, olive, jojoba, primrose and sweet almond oil as well as shea butter.  Innisfree really packed a ton of moisturizing ingredients in here, including vitamin E.  These ingredients will help keep the lips moist, not drying them out, despite the fact that this is a matte lipstick.   Obviously, dimethicone makes an appearance in here, so it has that slick, smooth feeling and application ease.

Ingredients: dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, polyglyceryl-2 triisostearate, isododecane, cyclohexasiloxane, yellow 6 lake (CI 15985), iron oxides (CI 77491), red 28 lake (CI45410), titanium dioxide (CI 77891), 1,2-hexanediol, disteardimonium hectorite, phenoxyethanol, fragrance, tocopheryl acetate, PEG-10 dimethicone, propylene carbonate, blue 1 lake (CI 42090), camellia japonica seed oil, mangifera indica (mango) seed oil, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, gossypium herbaceum (cotton) seed oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, argania spinosa kernel oil, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, oenothera biennis (evening primrose) oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, mangifera indica (mango) fruit extract, rosa canina fruit extract

This comes in a tube that is similar to the shade found inside.  Nice bright brick coral and this has a doe foot applicator that picks up a lot of product.  The color is beautiful, a deep brick coral-red shade, very true to its red-orange shade with no blue cast.

The color is quite vivid, very deep and has a sweet scent, but no taste.  Not only can I apply it full strength, but I can also blur it out with a brush or finger tip to get an ombré effect.  To dilute the color even more, I just blot my lips and get a nice tint that still has a lot of coverage.   This does dry down to a matte finish, but it is still quite creamy looking.

This is fairly long wearing once it dries down and only comes off when I eat something ~ it does last through my coffee and other drinks, however.  It does fade after a few hours but the fading does result in more of a tint coverage, so I still have some lippie product on my lips.

Final Thoughts

Gaggggg I love this line from Innisfree.  I need to go back and get some more of these in the Autumn Maple line as if I NEED more lip products… haha.  I love the staying power, the scent and the fact that this doesn’t taste disgusting (Peripera, I love you too, but seriously, the taste is gag worthy).  The Vivid Cotton Tint line does more than just tint, it is a true liquid lipstick, has a nice matte look without caking or cracking.   You can purchase these liquid lippies at Jolse for under $12.00 each (click here)  All prices will fluctuate slightly due to the Korean Won/USD conversion.  Jolse has free shipping all the time, ships internationally and gives out free samples.
