The Burlap Bag “The Bee’s Knees” It has been a while since Flickerbox put in a candle from The Burlap Bag ~ The Burlap Bag is located in Austin, TX and they make candles with some pretty funny names ~ Unicorn Puke, Crazy Cat Lady, Grandpa, King of Farts and not to be sexist, Queen of Farts! This one is The Bee’s Knees and it smells just like sweet caramel corn to me. According to The Burlap Bag, this is a mix of oatmeal and honey, which just goes to show that my sniffer picks up different scents. This is in a 4 oz amber colored glass jar and has a black screw-on metal lid. It is hand poured in small batches and are made from 100% all natural US grown soy beans. Bluecorn Naturals 100% Pure Beeswax Pillar This is in the “raw” shade, which is the natural shade of beeswax. Bluecorn sells this in other shades, but they all have the same slight sweet scent of honey. Their pillar candles burn better than traditional beeswax pillars because they use a lightly filtered beeswax, so that the wax doesn’t clog the wick. You won’t get a weak flame or tunneling with their candles! They have tested hundreds of wicks so that your candle will have the perfect burn and you won’t pour off wax just to rescue that wick! Lit & Co “Tupelo Honey” This is a really sweet, strong floral-honey scent which I love! I love that they named this candle after the amazing Van Morrison song..

This 8 oz candle comes in a clear glass tumbler with a silver metal lid. From Boise, Idaho, Lit & Co is a favorite with Flickerbox and I always enjoy getting their candles (plus their name is so great!) The hand crafted and hand poured soy candles are made with quality ingredients ~ pure fragrance, 100% soy wax, botanical oils, cotton wicks. Burn Time: 45 hours 8 oz RV $15.00

Description: Soy is longer-lasting and cleaner-burning than paraffin; this means a longer burning candle with no carbon soot on your walls and ceilings and no toxins being thrown into the air you breathe. Soy is renewable, biodegradable (unlike petroleum-based paraffin), and helps create economic growth for American farmers.

I love the theme this month ~ honey scented candles are so lovely, warm and inviting. I also am glad that Flickerbox chooses a charity or organization to donate monthly, based on the theme! Such a cool idea. This box’s value is $33.50 and I paid $34.00 for my box, as I am on a month to month subscription and I am grandfathered in, so my shipping is included in the price tag. It is lower than what I paid for it, but I have very low expectations with Flickerbox ~ I never expect to have a huge value placed on it. Shipping costs for candles is expensive and the products are made by artisans, making their eco-friendly candles with their own scents and hand crafted, it is a great deal. Also, some months are well over $40.00 in value, so it does even out in the end.
