mixsoon Centella Stick Balm Review

I am becoming quite the fan of balm sticks, so look for several reviews on balm sticks over the next few months.   Jolse,  a premier online KBeauty store, sent me the mixsoon’s Centella Stick Balm  product complementary for review purposes.  Mixsoon’s name is a combination of the English word “mix” and the Korean word for “pure” ~  순수한, which sounds like sunsuhan.  Mixsoon is a plant-based, vegan, cruelty-free brand and they have a minimalist approach to skincare.

Skin Type/Concerns: oily, blemish prone, aging concerns, pores, fine lines/wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation

I received these products complementary to review and was not paid.  All reviews are my own honest opinion and  I never have been asked to write copy for a brand.  This blog post might contain promo codes, affiliate and referral links, which using my links will help generate a small commission that helps support my blog at no extra cost to you.

This contains  10,000 ppm of skin repairing, soothing centella, which mixsoon obtains through a low-temperature extraction process, to ensure that it retains the benefits of the raw herb. As with all stick balms, there is a base of some type of wax and oils. In this case, the waxes are a synthetic wax as well as cersin, a waxy ingredient derived from clay and the  moisturizing, nourishing dense oils are sunflower, castor and jojoba  seed oils.  However, if you are worried that this will clog your pores, this has a lot of blemish busting ingredients, such as moringa seed oil, which has purifying, antiseptic benefits, with anti-inflammatory properties ~ helping with blemish care.

Neem also has antiseptic properties and will help control blemishes and help them while holy basil reduces inflammation, clears blemishes and can lighten hyper-pigmentation.  Turmeric is a popular ingredient for blemish control, as it has both anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.  Turmeric soothes blemishes and heals acne, while reducing redness and swelling.   Corallina officinalis is a red algae and has exfoliating benefits, removing dead skin cells and also antioxidant benefits, to prevent free radical damage.

Anti-irritant, anti-inflammatory alpha bisabolol also helps restore moisture and suppleness to the skin and reduces dryness . Silica helps strengthens the cells in our skin, between the collagen and elastin fibers, which plumps up our skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as slowing down the production of new wrinkles.  Eggplant contains antioxidants, anthocyanins and flavonoids which help prevent and repair damage from free radicals.

mixsoon Centella Stick Balm is in a nice, cream colored hard-tube packaging and I can swivel the stick up and down ~ very important in case you swivel too high!  The color is a pale leaf green shade and this has a light herbal scent to it.  I have oily skin, so I initially used this at night time ~ it has a light texture that doesn’t get greasy or sticky if I use one layer.  If I need more, I will do another swipe, but that now gets into a sticky residue, as it won’t absorb anymore into my skin.  I decided I could use this during the day, but with just one swipe to ensure my skin didn’t become greasy or tacky.  This stick doesn’t pull or tug on my skin either ~ it just glides over my skin.  Stick balms are very versitale too ~ I have used this as an under-eye treatment and also a sleep pack.

This is such a nice healing balm stick for blemishes or any skin irritations.  It isn’t pore-clogging and I found that when I used it overnight, a lot of small blemish bumps would be reduced or disappear.  During day use, I found that the balm helped with reducing irritation and redness while providing a light occlusive barrier to protect my skin.  Either way, my skin felt soft, supple and moisturized.  If you are looking for a stick balm for oily or blemish prone skin, this one seems to be a nice one to choose.  It will work with normal and dry skin types as well, as there aren’t any drying or irritating ingredients in here.
