Brand Intro

107 (One O Seven) is a brand that I truly love and have loved from the beginning.   They are such a fantastic brand, using naturally fermented vinegar as their key ingredients.  107 is a family owned business and they also run Korea’s largest naturally  fermented vinegar brand~ Hanega.  Ohk Ran Chung, a pharmacist,  developed a specially aged vinegar with 21 oriental herbs which will produce essential amino acids, which helps rejuvenate and purify your skin.

There are 8 essential amino acids in the award winning 107 fermented Hanega vinegar and they are all natural and organic.  Our body will easily absorb natural nutrients and these essential amino acids are anti-aging, increase the skin’s tone and elasticity, while healing and strengthening your skin.  If you are wondering what 107 stands for, it is their 107 secret formulas which have been in their family for 35 generations.   107 Beauty is a cruelty free brand.

107 Vinegar

107 uses cosmetic grade, sustainably sourced vinegar that has been naturally fermented for over 7 years and contains 8 essential amino acids, for a total of 17 amino acids, along with glutamic acid and acetic acid.  One of the revamps 107 did to the formula was to use vinegar that had been fermented longer, from 5 years to 7 years  up to 10 years as in the Soseo line ~ as the longer it ages, the higher the concentration of postbiotics.  Okay, we know what probiotics and prebiotics are, but what are POST-biotics?

Postbiotic uses the “non-viable bacterial products or metabolic by-products from probiotic bacteria”. * Postbiotics are the by-product from probiotic bacteria fermentation and it isn’t a new type of “biotic”.   Some examples are peptides, enzymes, polysaccharides, acids ~ such as lactic acid. So postbiotic is a proven beneficial ingredient in skincare.  source dermatologytimes

Vinegar is a natural anti fungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory and it will help restore the pH balance to your skin. It contains acetic acid and is known to kill off bacteria and reduce acne. By restoring pH balance to your skin, it will help make your skin inhospitable for bacteria as well, while helping your skin create essential proteins and fatty acids.  The vinegar used in these products are from wheat grown in the Gurye region in Korea ~ why is this interesting? The Gurye region grows its wheat completely free of agricultural chemicals and it is processed free from preservatives and bleaches.  Both of these haircare products are cruelty free with no artificial fragrances.

Scalp Purifying  Microbiome Shampoo is a fantastic product! This is my third full bottle and I have used up samples as well,  as I like it so much! ⁣This shampoo is a beautiful amber shade, with a delicious herbal scent. It is so calming and relaxing that I want 107 to make a perfume with this scent! It has a soft foam that feels so refreshing and I have noticed that my scalp isn’t as oily when I use this shampoo. My hair looks more healthy and shiny, and not dull. I also found that my hair isn’t shedding as much when I used this  shampoo on a regular basis  So what is in here? Lots of good stuff

7-year aged handmade vinegar made with ginkgo, pine leaves, brown rice, tangerine peels, yeast and other herbs, creating postbiotics, such as amino acids, AHA’s and acetic acid. This vinegar will help detox, hydrate, soothe and exfoliate the scalp, unclogging follicles and promoting healthy scalp and hair.  More vinegary goodness with vinegar fermented ginseng ~ this is something fairly new at 107 and it is part of their VinBiome™ line.  Ginseng VINB10-Biotic uses a proprietary fermentation process with 10-year aged vinegar, resulting in smaller ginsenosides.  This makes it easier for these anti-aging molecules to penetrate the scalp, helping to reduce  inflammation and combat free radicals while hydrating. ⁣

A probiotic complex consisting of  lactobacillus, bifida ferment lysate, streptococcus thermophilus and lactococcus along with a prebiotic  complex of inulin, xylitol, rhamnose and  fructooligosaccharides will help hydrate, soothe and promote good bacteria on the scalp, creating a balanced,  healthy scalp microbiome.  Finally, antioxidant terminalia chebula ~ haritaki ~ promotes hair growth as it is rich vitamins, iron, selenium and manganese, while soothing  your scalp due to its rich content of  phenolic acids.  It also helps control excess oils as it is a natural astringent, removing buildup on the scalp which prevents hair growth, controls dandruff due to its anti-microbial benefits, and reduces inflammation.

This also has some tried and true ingredients for hair and scalp care products: follicle unclogging BHA salicylic acid, anti-inflammatory, hair thickening niacinamide,  hair strengthening biotin for shine and increasing hair elasticity,  caffeine stimulates hair roots and aids in hair growth and hair smoothing, hydrating panthenol along with soothing and healing centella and mugwortThis also has several oils ~ rosemary, lavender, mugwort, cedarwood and fir, which all help promote healthy hair growth and ward off dandruff and fungal infections.  This shampoo has a pH level of 5, so it is skin-friendly.

Ingredients: Water, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Lauryl betaine, Lauryl Hydroxysultaine, Lauryl Glucoside, Cocamide MIPA, Coco-glucoside, Decyl Glucoside, Glycerin, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Polyquaternium-10, Citric Acid, Panthenol, Butylene Glycol, Vinegar, Perilla Frutescens Seed Extract, Terminalia Chebula Fruit Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Artemisia Princeps Extract, Malt Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment, Lactococcus Ferment, Hydrolyzed Ginseng Saponins, Inulin, Xylitol, Rhamnose, Fructooligosaccharides, Caffeine, Biotin, Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Methylpropanediol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Climbazole, Sodium Lauroyl Methylaminopropionate, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Abies Sibirica Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Wood Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Artemisia Vulgaris Oil, Limonene cosDNA

Hair & Scalp Hydrating Microbiome Treatment is more than just a conditioner, as it names states ~ it is a treatment as well.  This also has the 7 year old aged vinegar, caffeine extracted from green tea and coffee beans to help stimulate circulation for stronger hair roots and healthier scalp, moisture barrier strengthening, hair smoothing panthenol, post and probiotic for a healthy scalp, along with biotin, which helps bind proteins to hair and aid in the production of keratin.  This will lead to shiny and healthy hair.  To soothe and heal your scalp’s skin, there is centella, mugwort and heartleaf, helping to calm any scalp irritation.

This also has nourishing and moisturizing oils of argan, camellia, jojoba, grape seed and baobab, repairing and strengthening hair with their essential fatty acids. Hydrolyzed ginseng saponins are great for the hair as plant saponins are mild, natural and help condition while not stripping oils from your hair. Hydrolyzed rice proteins give volume, natural shine, and strengthens hair.  Hydrolyzed wheat proteins will make your hair smooth and silky, while preventing weakening of your hair’s fiber by filling it in with cystine, a hair protein that creates a barrier around your hair.   Hydrolyzed oat proteins protect your hair from damage, while reducing damage and hair breakage, leaving it soft, shiny and thicker.  Hydrolyzed barley proteins nourish and moisturize your hair leaving it stronger and healthier.   This treatment smells of lavender.

This comes in a tube and the treatment is  rich, buttery and creamy looking, but not too heavy.  I added it to my hair, working it into sections and then leaving it in for about 5 minutes.  After that, I rinse my hair clean ~ no more tangles!! I have very fine, straight-ish hair, that tangles so EASILY and this treatment really left my hair so soft and easy to comb through.  My only complaint is that it needs to be in a bigger size!
