SNP Seoul Cafe Tea Time Tieguanyin Tea Brightening Mask (S. Korea) This is the first of two tea masks in this month’s pouch. This is part of a “tea” series from SNP ~ they have a moisturizing green tea, firming black tea and a whiting tieguanyin or uuron-cha ekisu, which is oolong tea. Reading the information on this mask, I learned a few things about tea! Non fermented tea, such as green tea, is made by picking the leaves and heating the leaves to turn off the oxidizing enzyme to keep the green color of the leaves. Green tea contains a large amount of tocopherol and amino acids, which are anti-oxidants and moisturizes and soothes the skin, due to its vitamin B2. Fermented tea, such as black tea, absorbs quickly into your skin and provides nutrition to deep within your skin. Oolong tea, according to SNP, is a partially fermented tea (20-70%) and has a soft floral scent with a sweet fruity flavor. It moisturizes as well as locks in moisture to your skin. This mask has 1000mg of Oolong tea. Now, another interesting thing about this mask (and alas, I cannot use it, but for those who can ~ this is really cool), the sheet itself is made from rose leaves, which makes its color beige. This material is super soft and helps deliver the essence effectively to your skin, it hugs your face and increases the absorption. This has niacinamide and grapefruit for brightening. RV $2.00

AM Piggy Head Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Instant Repairing Facial Mask (Taiwan) Hahaha, I’ve seen these masks at Beautibi and have been insanely curious abut them! This is the second tea mask and I can use this one! This is a repairing mask that contains soothing and healing chamomile and lavender extracts, as well as biosaccharide gum-1, which is a polysaccharide, derived from fermented plants. I do not see black tea in here, so I am wondering if they are taking liberTEAS (haha ~ liberties ~ liberteas) with the fermented plant extract and chamomile herb. Sun Moon Black Tea is an actual tea, so I thought it would be in here.. At any rate, this mask sounds amazing and I love love love the little girl on the packaging! RV $2.75

PNP1N Special Treatment Energy Paris French Mask Series ~ Whitening (Hong Kong) I really couldn’t find anything on this mask, as it looks like to be a local Hong Kong brand. Based on the very limited info on the package, this mask will help balance and brighten your skin tone as well as reduce redness from blemishes. I found some information on Facebook as well and discovered this is part of a French series and the mask package itself states it is made with French ingredients ~ oo lala . I love a good brightening mask, so I will give this a try. It feels very squishy in the package too, making me think there is a lot of essence in here. I highly doubt that there are only 4 ingredients in here, so I am counting them as “key” ingredients. RV $2.00

1028 Visual Therapy Activating Whitening Mask (Taiwan) Pretty cool! Another new mask brand and it is from Taiwan. This not only has vitamin C, but mandelic acid ~ which is a good brightening ingredient ~ and it also is a hydrating mask with hyaluronic acid along with the skin conditioning hydroxyphenyl propamidobenzoic acid. Farm Stay Princess Aqua 3 Step Mask (S Korea) This is a charcoal black mask with 2 additional steps ~ the first step is a cream with adenosine and niacinamide to help brighten and treat your skin. Then an ampoule to deliver more nourishment to your skin. Slap the charcoal mask over it all and your skin will be plumped up and brightened. Pure Smile (Japan) Iyashibi Aroma Mask in Rosewood (Japan) More eye candy ~ look at that packaging on this mask ~ it is so beautiful ~ reminds me of Indian designs for some reason. Anyway, this was the spoiler and I really am excited ~ another Japanese mask and I do like Pure Smile masks ~ for some reason, back in the days when Memebox was Global, we did get a lot of Pure Smile masks, even though they are Japanese. What a fantastic month from MaskGenie ~ lots of new brands and a great mix of masks from Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. She really outdid herself here and I love that the Japanese masks are really interesting and unique. I am really excited about the Dr Lee, Farm Stay, Mitomo, Pure Smile and AM Piggy Head masks ~ those are really interesting to me. I paid $23.99 for this pouch, which included shipping, and received a retail value of almost $25.00 ~ this is a really high value pouch, as shipping from Hong Kong is not inexpensive and should be factored in with the cost, as you are supporting an indie, woman-owned business.
