Starting on the left, going clockwise: PaddyWax “Desert Cactus Flower & Sage”, Illume “Cactus Verde”, Soap for Your Soul “Peyote Sage & Citrus Blend”

Paddywax “Cactus Flower & Sage”   ~  I am so sad ~ the biggest candle in the trio and the glass jar shattered in transit.   There is even bits of glass inside the candle 😦  The presentation on this candle is impressive, with the lovely amber glass jar and the wooden lid, tag card and the wooden arrow.  I have emailed Flicker Box with photos to show them this was broken and hopefully, they will replace it.   The jar is supposed to be shaped like a thread spool, with wood and twine accents.  This is a floral scent, but not overpowering at all, and lurking in the background, a nice sage scent.   Paddywax soy candles are hand poured in the USA and are a Nashville, TX artisan workshop.  This candle has a burn time of  25-30 hours.  7 oz RV $20.25

Illume  “Cactus Verde” ~  I own a couple of Illume candles, my recent one is Chanterelle Moss, which I adore.   The Cactus Verde scent is a mix of cassis and geranium, so it is a sweet scent, but it has a freshness about it, because it also has dune grass, aloe vera, sandal tree and musk.   I really love Illume’s scents as they are complex, different and very pleasant to smell.  The tins are also nice, as the top of the tin (inspired by a retro cake tin) actually fits over the whole candle and the coloring is a solid color (in this case a teal-green), with a colorful label that uses a paper birch bark as its pattern.   This soy wax candle is blended with essential oils and has an all cotton wick, with a burn time of 20 hours, made in Minnesota.   3 oz RV $10.00

Description: Feel as brilliant as a bloom and as sweet as a succulent. A bright blend of cassis, pink sea salt, and wild geranium with a hint of avocado.

Top Notes: bright cassis, pink sea salt, aloe vera
Middle: dune grass, avocado creme, wild geranium
Base: Sandal tree, iris blooming, musk

Soap for Your Soul  “Peyote Sage & Citrus” ~  This unassuming little tin has the most amazing scent!  I love the citrus scent of lemons and limes and  there is also a great herbal sage scent mixing along with it.  It is so relaxing and uplifting at the same time.  This is going to be a candle scent I will want to purchase again.  Soap for Your Soul is an etsy shop, located in South Carolina,  and their soy candles are made from non-GMO USA soybeans, and have no additives, colors or dyes.   The eco-wicks are lead free, made from all natural paper and cotton.  6 oz of an amazing aromatherapy scent with a burn time of 50 hours  RV $7.00

I hope that Flicker Box will send me a replacement candle for Paddywax as that is such a nice scent and I love the presentation.  I love all 3 scents, especially the Peyote from Soap for Your Soul.  This is just a great sub box for candle lovers and I am glad I am being introduced to so many different scents and artisan companies.    This box’s value is  $37.25  and I paid $34.00 for my box, as I am on a month to month subscription.

Flickerbox also has a store, where you purchase candles that were featured in their past boxes.
