Memebox Food Ingredients Skincare Box XL #SkinFoodies Unboxing!

I am a fool for any skincare products that are food centric and I think a lot of people are too!  Something about smearing food over my face just makes me happy ;D  But seriously, fruits and vegetables have such powerful properties, such as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and full of vitamins and minerals, that nourish your skin, making it healthy and glowing!  Memebox knows the power of food boxes, as they did quite a few back in their Global days, and I am so happy to see a new Food Ingredients box from them!

I have a whole section in my blog,  devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.  If you are new to Memebox, you use my referral link here and get 20% off your first order of $25.00 or more!  At the end of the blog post, check out the deal that Memebox is running until Monday, August 9th, 2015.

Informational Card

Skinfood Quinoa Rich Body Milk  This is a HUGE bottle of body lotion ~ in a way, I wish it was body wash, but I do use body lotion a lot ~ moisturize all the bits, ladies and gents!  This lotion is not only made with 5,000 mg of  Quinoa, which is an “ancient” supergrain from the Inca Empire ~ enriched with proteins, starch and minerals ~  but tons of veggie and fruit extracts, such as

  • Pumpkin contains enzymes and AHA for exfoliation, brighten skin tone.  Vitamin A & C to help soften and soothe skin while preventing signs of aging.  High in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E to maintain good barrier function of the skin
  • Tomatoes contain high level of lycopene, which is an antioxidant that helps prevent the signs of aging and is also an anti-inflammatory and encourages cell renewal.  Also  contains Vitamin A & C, which are powerful antioxidants.
  • Cucumber contain antioxidants in Vitamin C and K and Vitamin B-5, which helps your skin retain moisture.  Vitamin A (retinol) evens out your skin tone.
  • Cabbage contains sulfur, which is essential for promoting healthy skin via the protein keratin.  Sulfur and Vitamin C also help remove free radical and uric acid toxins from the skin

It also has celery, apple, asparagus, broccoli and carrot extracts, all which are packed with vitamins and minerals.  This is a medium weight lotion, not too heavy, but it is very moisturizing, without being greasy or oily.  It has a nice fresh scent to it, with just a hint of earthy-musk. Once again, I just love Skinfood’s labels ~ it is very much part of the appeal of their products.  Full Size 500 mL Value $13.00

Ingredients:  water, mineral oil, glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cucurbita pepo (pumpkin) fruit extract,
solanum lycopersicum (tomato) fruit extract, cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, brassica oleracea capitata (cabbage) leaf extract, asparagus officinalis stem extract, apium graveolens (celery) extract, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, brassica oleracea italica (broccoli) extract, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower water,
daucus carota sativa (carrot) root extract, dimethicone, chenopodium quinoa seed extract (5000mg),  dipotassium glycyrrhizate, hydroxythylcellulose, polysorbate 60, stearic acid, glyceryl stearate, triethanolamine, carbomer, PEG-100 stearate, sorbitan sesquioleate, disodium EDTA, methylparaben, propylparaben, phenoxyethanol, caramel, CI 15985, fragrance analysis

3W Clinic Fresh Apple Mask Sheet   3W masks are good inexpensive masks ~ I really liked their Milk mask.  This contains .05% of apple extracts, which  have Vitamins A & C, antioxidants and alpha-hydroxy acids, which help fight aging and exfoliate skin, promoting cellular turnover.   I totally LOVE that Memebox gave us two masks this time ~ it has been a while since they have done that. Full Size 23 g x 2 Value $4.00

Description: The soft mask sheet absorbs into the skin that needs keratin management and organize the skin texture without stickiness and the apple extract make the sin soft and moist.

Ingredients:Water, butylene glycol, glycerin, ethanol, sodium hyaluronate, betaine, arginine, cabomer, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, allantoin, apple extract (.05%), disodium EDTA, fragrance analysis

Nature Republic Fresh Vegetable Pack This was the spoiler and once I saw that, I knew this box was going to be pretty excellent!   This is a wash off jelly mask pack and despite the fact that it *looks* green in the tub, it actually is a clear gel, which smells like grapefruit!  Very happy with the scent, cause I am not sure I would want to smell like a beet or something.  This is FULL of veggie ingredients that are going to hydrate, moisturize, brighten, soothe, nourish and cool your skin.    This contains 6,000 mg  of organic vegetable extracts, which are rich in nutrition and vitamins.  Now, this mask pack does contain alcohol, so I do think this is more suited for oily skin, not dry skin.  I think that it might not be moisturizing enough for dry skin, but for my skin type, it works really nicely.   This has astringents, plus moisturizers, emolliants, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients.   I put mine in the frig to keep it cool, and it feels really nice right now, as it is very muggy and hot in Boston.   You don’t need to put it in the refrigerator, as it is cooling enough on its own, but I like my masks a bit cooler than most.  Full Size 150 mL Value $22.00

How to Use:  After washing your face and towel drying the skin, apply an appropriate amount onto your skin (avoiding skin areas near eyes and mouth). Leave it on for 10-15 minutes until the pack gets dry. Then, wash off with lukewarm water.

Ingredients:  Purified water, glycerin, Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer, betaine, alcohol, ulmus davidiana (elm) root extract,  Amaranthus Caudatus Seed extract, Centella asiatica extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit extract, Solanum Tuberosum (Potato) Pulp Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract,  Brassica Campestris (Rapeseed) Extract, Brassica Rapa (Turnip) Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Portulaca Oleracea extract, Pueraria Thunbergiana (kudzu) Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Paeonia Lactiflora Root Extract,  Cnidium Officinale Root Extract, Apium Graveolens (Celery) Extract,  chicory leaf extract, Capsicum Annuum (paprika) Fruit Extract, soluble collagen,  Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyoxyethylene Hydrogenated Castor Oil, 1,2-hexanediol,  Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, sodium hydroxide, allantoin,  Ethylhexylglycerin, disodium EDTA, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate,  xanthan gum, ceramide 3, fragrance, phenoxyethanol, yellow 5 (CI 19140), blue 1 (CI 42090) analysis

The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisture Emulsion  I have received the toner before (and it looks like Mishibox will have the toner too in it) and this product line is not for me.  It is more for drier skin types and when I had sampled it last year, it made me break out in acne.  Plus this does have a floral scent that I do not like.  It is too bad, as some of the benefits are brightening and even out skin tone due to hyper-pigmentation.   However, I have read good reviews on this product for dry skin types, so it just isn’t for me!

  • Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract (1%) will soften and moisturize skin
  • Ceramide 3 (.001%)  will hydrate and repair skin
  • Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil (.01%)  is a softener

Full Size 150 mL Value $11.00

Description: The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisture Emulsion relieves dry skin and reduces flaking with the use of ceramide, which helps to maintain the skin barrier. Rice extract corrects skin texture by reducing the appearance of dark spots, freckles, and hyperpigmentation. The lightweight formula makes it a perfect daytime moisturizer and provides a radiant, brightened complexion.

Ingredients:  Water, Glycerine, Dipropylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Polydecene,, Betaine, Cyclomethicone, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose disterate, Di-C12-13 alkyl malate, Oryza Sativa (rice) Extract (1.0%), Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate,  Butyrosperum Parkii (Shea Butter), Dimethicone, Lecithin, Caprylic Glycerides, Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, C12-14 Pareth-12, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide 3 (.001%), Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Oryza Sativa (rice) Bran Oil (0.1%), Glycosphingolipids, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Alpha-isomethyl ionone, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol,  Coumarin, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Hydroxisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde, Limonene, Linalool analysis

Botanic Farm Salmon Egg Hydrogel Eye Patch  I’ve been wanting to try these for a long time now, but just couldn’t bring myself to purchase them, as I still have a tub of eye patches to finish up first.  These not only have salmon eggs, but snail slime and colloidal gold in them!  Salmon eggs have an enzyme that helps remove dead skin cells without harming new skin cells, as well as having antioxidant properties.  These benefits were discovered in salmon hatcheries in Norway, when the workers hands were looking smoother and younger than the rest of their skin ~ their hands were in the cold water filled with the enzyme that was left behind when the salmon eggs hatched.  I opened the tub o’ gels up, but it did have a safety seal, so I didn’t want to break it just yet ~ the expiration clock starts ticking once the product is opened, even if you seal it up again!  You can also use these eye patches around your mouth (the nose to mouth lines) and your forehead (where the 11’s reside)    These patches come with a nice little spatula that helps you flip the gels out of the tub.    Full Size 80 mL Value $30.00

Description: Sagging Eye Bags? Stubborn Dark Circles? Botanic Farm’s Salmon Egg Hydrogel Eye Patch effectively eliminates these imperfections around the eye area in an instant. With its rich blend of premium ingredients including salmon egg, snail slime filtrate and colloidal gold, each hydrogel patch gives the thin skin layer around the eyes more strength and elasticity to be able to prevent further damage caused by the environment’s harmful elements. It also contains aloe vera extract that gently soothes sensitive skin.

How to Use: Using the spoon included in the container, scoop the hydrogel patches and apply them under the eyes. Leave for 20~30 minutes then pat gently to allow better absorption. These patches should be used at the last stage of your basic skincare routine.

Ingredients: aqua, glycerin, butylene glycol, chondrus crispus (carrageenan), ceratonia siliqua gum, cyamopsis tetragonoloba (guar) gum, agar, potassium chloride, glucose, xanthan gum, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, salmon egg extract (450 ppm), caulerpa lentillifera (sea grapes seaweed) extract, codium fragile (green seaweed) extract, dipropylene glycol, adenosine, disodium EDTA,  propylparaben, tocopheryl acetate, panthenol, calcium lacate, fragrance, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, yellow oxide of iron, snail secretion filtrate, carbomer, triethanolamine , allantoin, sodium hyaluronate, dipotassium glycyrrhizate (licorice root), aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder, niacinamide, colloidal gold analysis

I really like this box a lot!  This has some HUGE products in it ~ they weren’t kidding when they stated XL ~ and despite the fact I won’t use The Face Shop item, the other items make up for it for sure.  I am most happy with the Nature Republic Fresh Vegetable Mask Pack and Botanic Farms eye gels, which I will use as soon as I finish my other tub of eye gels.  I also appreciated that Memebox gave us two facial sheet masks ~ just like the old days!     I paid $39.00 for this box and the MemeValue is $80.00 and as since a couple of items were really heavy, I think this is a great deal ~ finding these products in Korea and then paying for the shipping, that does add up!     The  Food Ingredients Skincare Box XL is still available for sale at Memebox.

  1. This box looks great! Mine should be here tomorrow! I saw another review of the box, but couldn’t bring myself to look at it and ruin the surprise! However, once I saw you posted a review I just couldn’t resist! Your reviews are great and always make me even more excited for the products! Thank you!
