Memebox Purse Essentials Box #WhatsInYourBag Unboxing!

Last year, Memebox offered the Travelers Box, which was a bit of an uninspired collection and quite forgettable.  So, this year, Memebox released a Purse Essentials Box, which is similar that it would deal with items that were small enough to fit in your purse. This was not a mystery box, so I knew what I was getting and there was one product in here that I really wanted to try.

I have a whole section in my blog,  devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.

Purse Essentials Box #WhatsInYourBag

Every girl needs her purse essentials that will take her from zero to hero in a matter of minutes. We’ve got your covered with these purse essentials consisting of makeup, sun protection, accessories and quick-fix skincare items!

What happened to the box? It looks like Memebox is not going to send our boxes in the pink box anymore ~ how sad!  It makes it harder to gift and I miss those pink boxes.

Peripera Oil Capture Moistick   For the life of me, I couldn’t get a clear photo of this product.  The color must be something that my camera is having a hard time focusing on.  Anyway, I am really happy to get this item, as this is, despite its name of “moistick”, is a mattifying touch up product.  It goes on clear and leaves behind no shine!  I can always use these, especially in the summer!  I had a similar item from Shara Shara and I really loved it.   This one has a nice fresh and clean scent to it and its oil control formula, including peach, honey, clay, egg whites and 3 herbal ingredients ~ eucalyptus,  tea tree and mint ~ comes in a capped, twist up stick.   This will also tighten pores and help brightening skin with its niacinamide ingredient .   Full Size 7g Value $12.00

illi Intensive Moisture Hand Cream  Believe it or not, this was the product I really wanted to try!  I love illi products and haven’t seen them in a Memebox for a long time.  I adore the Total Age line and have suggested that Memebox carry illi products again ~ illi’s mother company is Pacific Amore, which is a world famous brand.  This vegetable and botanical hand cream is made with fermented soy beans and shea butter and has lovely herbal ingredients, such as ginseng, rosemary, tea tree and pine extracts, along with lotus flower water.   This smells like fig and it is amazing ~ I cannot stop sniffing my hands 🙂  It is a good moisturizing hand cream that doesn’t leave a trail of greasy marks, as it absorbs quickly.  The key ingredients are ~  Ginseng:  helps with the vitality of the skin  ::  Soy Beans: moisturize and offer skin protection ::  Lotus Flower:  helps attract water ::  Fig Extract contains antioxidants. Full Size 50g   Value $19.00

Ingredients: Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Butylene Glycol, Methyl Hydrogenated Rosinate, cetearyl alcohol, squalane, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Glyceryl Stearate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit/Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera (lotus) Flower Extract,  Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Anemarrhena Asphodeloides Root Extract, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Peat Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Pinus Sylvestris Bud Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Extract, Phyllostachis Bambusoides Juice, natto gum, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, PEG-100 Stearate, polyacrylate-13, cholesterol, stearic acid, xanthan gum, carbomer, Glyceryl Caprylate, Polyisobutene, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tromethamine, Dextrin, polysorbate 20, Fragrance analysis

Nature Republic Provence Rose Gloss (Randomly Selected)  I initially wasn’t sure if I was going to like this lip gloss, but I received PK 202 (Pink Rose).  The other two colors were PK 201 (Nude Rose) and PK 203 (Kissing Rose)  and I got the middle shade.  This is a lip plumping very sheer gloss with shimmers.  In the tube, it looked really sparkly, but when I put it on my lips, it did sheer out nicely and it has a lovely shimmer, with its gem powders of amethyst, tourmaline, emerald, pearl and ruby all  adding to that sparkle. .  A perfect summer lip gloss.  It has a great cooling and minty feel to it, and very moisturizing.  This does have vitamin E and rosehip oil in it, but I am not allergic to rosehip, so I can wear this.   I love the brown and wine lipgloss shade in this product line ~ but Memebox felt we needed PINK.   This has a click-twist, soft silicone slated tip  applicator. I couldn’t find the ingredients lists for PK 202, but I did find them for PK 203 ~ I am assuming that the only difference are  the colors used, so I will include it here.  Full-Size 4g ($11)

Ingredients for PK 203: polybutene, triethylhexanoin, pentaerythrityl tetraethylhexanoate, diisostearyl malate, bid-diglyceryl polyacyladipate-2, silica silylate, calcium sodium borosilicate, microcrystalline wax, silica dimethyl silylate, menthol, rose canina fruit (rosehip) oil, ruby powder, amethyst powder, pearl powder, tourmaline, emerald, VP/hexadecene copolymer, calcium aluminum borosilicate,  ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, polygyceryl-2 triisostearate, menthyl lacate, tocpheryl acetate, polyglyceryl-2 diisostearate, water, butylene glycol, tin oxide (CI 77861), dehydroacetic acid, phenoxyethanol, fragrance, titanium dioxide (CI 77891), red 28 (CI 45410), yellow 5(CI 19140), red 7 (CI analysis

Clio Sunbelievable Perfect Sun Cream  SPF50+ PA+++ Ahh, a sunscreen.  I really need to use them.  It is just that it is supposed to be the “last step” in your skin care routine, and I find most sunscreens to be heavy and pore clogging.   I need to at least put some on my forehead and cheeks, where it isn’t as oily.   I do love Clio products ~ they also make Peripera and Goodall, so I will use this.   This is supposed to be a non-sticky formula that doesn’t leave any oiliness.  This isn’t pure-pure white, but a very soft, barely noticeable peach shade and that just blends into my skin, leaving no color behind.  This has an interesting ingredient list ~ vitamin E, aloe vera, radish, wheat germ, rapeseed, cabbage, alfalfa extracts, which makes this sunscreen full of antioxidants as well.  I also love the scent, as it really reminds me of Bain de Soleil suntan lotion.    Full-Size 50mL Value $40.00

Ingredients:  water, cyclopentasiloxane, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, glycerine, ethylhexyl salicylate, zinc oxide (CI 77947), dipropylene glycol,  isodecyl neopentanoate, PEG-10 dimethicone, titanium dioxide (CI 77891), disteardimonum hectorite, cyclomethicone, sodium hyaluronate, tocopheryl acetate, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, althaea rosea (hollyhock) flower extract, raphanus sativus (radish) seed extract, triticum vulgare (wheat) germ extract, brassica campestris (rapeseed) extract, brassica oleracea capitata (cabbage) leaf extract medicago sativa (alfalfa) extract, magnesium sulfate, vinyl dimethicone/methicone silsesquioxane crosspolymer, talc, alumninum hydroxide (CI 77002), alumninum stearate, methicone, trihydroxystearin, polyglyceryl-6 polyricinoleate, dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, dimethicone, triethoxycaprylylsilane, butylene glycol, fragrance, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben,  hydrated ferric oxide (CI 77492), ferric oxide (CI 77491) analysis

Karadium Dot Han Mirror  This is a cute little mirror with a black & white poka dot fabric on one side and the mirror on the other side.  The only problem I have with this mirror is that there is nothing protecting the mirror ~ it will get all scratched up.  I wish this was more of a compact mirror to protect it.  It is very cute and I guess I will have to keep it at my desk, because being in my purse will guarantee  that it will get damaged quickly.   Karadium is a Korean makeup company and I wonder if Memebox will start carrying that brand soon.   Value $4.00

This is actually a pretty decent box, imho.    This is one of their less expensive boxes at Memebox right now, and I think that all of these products are really good and I will use them all.   This might be a Purse Essentials box, but it is more of a Summer Purse Essentials box, as the sunscreen, mattifying stick and lip gloss all scream summer to me!   I am disappointed that the mirror does not have a protective cover to it, but it is cute.  The hand cream is what I really wanted out of this box, as I cannot find it anywhere outside of the Korean illi website.  I do hope that Memebox will carry illi products soon in their store.   I spent $28.00 on this box and received a MemeValue of $86.00.  Purse Essentials Box is still available for purchase at Memebox.

Did you get the Purse Essentials Box?  What is your favorite product or one that you want to use the most?   Please let me know in the comments!  I know I have lurkers out there, but you rarely comment 🙂

  1. Have you tested the Clio Sunbelievable Perfect Sun Cream? Is it oily or clogging at all? Do you think it is suitable for sensitive/combination skin?

    1. Hi Jessica, I have tried it on my face and I had to avoid my oily T-zone. I have found with my oily skin, that those sunscreen’s with a higher SPF cause my T-zone to be more oily and clogs up. This is a very nice sunscreen, but I only put it on the side of my face (around the cheeks) and I’ve been using it more on my arms – as they do get a lot of sun with my daily driving back & forth to work. I don’t have sensitive skin, so I cannot answer that – but I didn’t have any reactions to it. If your combo skin is more combo-dry, I would think this would work well on your skin, as you wouldn’t have the oily issue that I have with my skin.

If you lean combo-oily, I recommend Peripera Ice Jelly Sun SPF 30 PA++. It is a lighter SPF, but I have found this works great with my face and I do use it all over. I received it in my Beautibi’s Yes Summer box, but you can purchase it at Club Clio USA here It does have alcohol in it, just so you know. I use this as the last step before my makeup, so I feel that this one product, which is sitting on top of all my other skincare products that don’t contain alcohol, is okay. However, if you are sensitive to alcohol or do not want to use this ingredient in your skincare, I wouldn’t recommend it then. Personally, I love this sunscreen.
