One Thing Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract

As we wind down the year, Korea’s One Thing is my brand pick for 2021.  They pretty much only offer toners at this point with a couple of creams and a lip essence, but their toner line up is impressive.  Sometimes when you find your niche, you should just continue to refine and hone that line; in this case, produce more toners!   I have tried several already ~ see reviews here and here, and I am please to continue my journey with One Thing with a Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract Toner.   Jolse, a premier online KBeauty store, sent me the One Thing with a Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract Toner complementary for review purposes.

Skin Type/Concerns: oily, blemish prone, aging concerns, pores, fine lines/wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation

I received these products complementary to review and was not paid.  All reviews are my own honest opinion and  I never have been asked to write copy for a brand.  This blog post might contain promo codes, affiliate and referral links, which using my links will help generate a small commission that helps support my blog at no extra cost to you.

Key Ingredients

Well, the key ingredients are all of the ingredients in this toner.  Yep, just four items.  Calendula, also known as pot marigold, has one of the longest histories of usage of any herb in skin care. This is herb, which is not to be confused with the flower marigold, helps heal chapped and irritated skin. It stimulates wound and burn healing and it helps reduce dermatitis. Calendula gets much of its healing properties from its high levels of carotenoids, similar to Vitamin A.  This toner contains 95% of calendula.

Humectant butylene glycol is a smoothing, skin conditioner, which also has emollient properties, creating a barrier to help prevent water loss.  Moisture boosting 1,2-hexanediol⁣ is a synthetic preservative that can bind water to your skin.  Ethylhexylglycerin not only works as both an emollient and humectant, but it helps preserve the product due to its anti-microbial benefits.   This doesn’t contain alcohol nor artificial colors or fragrances and its rich golden color is all natural

Ingredients: Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract(95%), Butylene Glycol(3%), 1,2-Hexanediol(1.98%), Ethylhexylglycerin(0.02%)  cosDNA

Just like the other toners in the One Thing lineup, the packaging is a rounded rectangular bottle, looking very apothecary.  They aren’t made of glass, but plastic, but have a weighty look and feel about them.  What can you do with this toner?  Besides the obvious use of a toner, you can mix it into your lotions and creams, customize your own toner by mixing different extracts together and creating DIY mask packs.

I use this mainly as a toner and for creating mask pack as it is such a soothing and healing product. It doesn’t irritate my skin yet it is refreshing and hydrating.  One Thing Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract is a watery product, with a wonderfully warm, spicy floral-herbal scent ~ absorbs quickly into the skin, with no greasy or oily residue.  It is a low pH toner, with a mildly  acidic level of 5.

I recommend checking out the One Thing’s complete toner/extract lineup and purchasing a few of them, so you can curate your own special toner formula!  These are inexpensive, last a long time and are 100% certified vegan and cruelty free.
