Rovectin is a brand that Wishtrend has been releasing on their website with frightening speed ~ ahaha! I cannot keep up with all of the releases! If you are interested in my past Rovectin reviews, please click here to see them. Rovectin has this amazing CICA line which includes sheetmasks, toner, cream and a new sleeping pack. This blog post will focus on Dr. Mask Cica Sheetmasks and Cica Care Balm. I received both of these products for review purposes from Wishtrend.

Skin Type/Concerns: Oily, blemish prone, aging skin with hyper-pigmentation and fine lines/wrinkles
Rovectin is a new brand to me this year and it is a cosmeceutical skincare brand, made in both Korea and the USA, as its parent company is in Santa Monica, CA ~ luxury cosmetic laboratory with 25 years in the business. One of their more popular products, Barrier Repair Complex Cream, as created for use in hospitals and doctors globally. Their products are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.
Key Ingredients
Both the mask and the balm contain the following key ingredients, starting with CICA, aka centella asiatica. This is a well known healing, soothing ingredient that will also help minimize the appearance of pores and since it stimulates collagen production, it will make your skin more supple and firm. This also contains centella derivative madecassoside helps soothe, reduce redness and inflammation while healing your skin.
Calamine is a very soothing ingredient and will help reduce swelling and itchiness. It is also an antiseptic, which will help prevent infections and will disinfect and it is an astringent as well. This is considered an essential medicine by WHO (World Health Organization). Calamine can cause brightening of the skin tone as it is basically zinc oxide, which helps fade blemishes, hyper-pigmentation and give an overall brightening effect on your face. In fact, many people use calamine lotion to help fade and prevent blemishes, control oil and also as a moisturizer
These both contain several hydrating and moisturizing ingredients: trehalose, which supplies concentrated moisture to your skin and helps retain moisture, preventing your skin from drying out. Glycerin will moisturize and hydrate the skin, leaving your face feeling smooth and soft. Betaine is an amino acid that is a humectant and anti-irritant, providing silky smooth skin and soothes and calms skin.
Rovectin Dr. Mask Cica Sheetmasks contains more ingredients that will help with soothing and healing skin care issues. Houttuynia cordata is a medicinal herb that is found in a lot in Asian skin care products. It is an antibiotic, which helps with preventing infection from skin problems, such as blemishes. It also has powerful detox properties, is an astringent and anti-inflammatory. Sodium hyaluronate is an intensive moisturizing ingredient which bonds water to keep skin hydrated. It is a natural substance found in the human body and it made up of amino and uronic acids, and helps retain 100 to 1,000 times its own water weight in our skin cells.
Wintergreen leaf extract is not the same as wintergreen oil ~ the leaf extracts help calm your skin, while softening it. Wintergreen is also a natural source of salicylic acid, helping to get into your pores and remove oil, dirt and other debris. Applying eucalyptus leaf extract topically helps moisturize and protect the skin barrier by boosting ceramide production as it contains macrocarpal A, a ceramide stimulating (research ncbi.nlm.nih.gov)
This does contain alcohol but it really doesn’t smell like it and as an oily skinned person, I don’t really fear it too much. If you are sensitive to EO’s, there is lavender oil in here. This mask is cruelty free and vegan friendly.

I feel that this mask is really tailored for oily and blemish prone skin as it contains salicylic acid AND calamine. Those two ingredients together can be drying for drier skin types, not to mention the alcohol in here. However, for me, this mask was wonderful. It has a lovely mask material, very soft and it holds a lot of watery, lavender scented essence. The mask fit is excellent and it has a lot of cooling benefits when I am wearing it. After I removed the mask, my skin felt so refreshed and cool to the touch and I felt that it really helps relieve a lot of irritation, by reducing some surface redness. Great mask!
Rovectin Cica Care Cream has a ton of moisturizers, emollients and emulsifiers ~ cetyl alcohol, arginine, glyceryl stearate, phytosteryl/octyldodecyl lauroyl glutamate, glycol stearate SE, stearic acid, cetearyl alcohol and glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid copolymer ~ so you know it is going to be a very protective product, adding a moisturizing layer on the skin.
Amino acid arginine promotes healing and detoxes your skin. It also helps guard against the formation of wrinkles and loss of skin firmness. This also contains enzyme protease, which when applied topically, helps reduce dryness, skin flaking and helps turn over new skin by gently exfoliating the skin. (resource ncbi.nlm.nih.gov)
The cream is a pale pale pink in color, due to the calamine in here. This does contain lavender oil, so it does have a faint scent of lavender. The cream is on the thicker side but spreads and applies easily on my skin. I perfect to use this at night time, as my skin is oily and this cream really does tend to make my skin more oily as the day progresses. I do feel it makes for a great sleep pack, as it really locks moisturize in and it doesn’t clog pores.
I actually think that this is great for other uses than on my face. I have a tendency to cut, scrape and bruise myself as I am a klutz, not to mention that I have a cat who doesn’t understand that her claws can hurt me. Plus mosquito bites as I was using this during the summer ~ this does heal and soothe those areas on my body where I apply it and reduces the scarring for me. This would be also a great product in the wintertime as well, because of wind and cold burns. This isn’t my favorite product in the Rovectin Cica line as I do think it is for more dryer skin types than myself, but it does work nicely.
