Moonshot Cream Paint Tintfit Review

Lip Tints should BE A HUGE thing right now.  Keep reading…

I am a matte lipstick junkie but during this pandemic, I found that I cannot wear lipstick and a mask at the same time…Well I COULD, but then I would have clown face with all of my lipstick smeared around my face as it rubs against the mask.   Even liquid lipsticks have issues with staying in place, so I started looking at lip tints.  When lip tints first hit the Western market from Korea, I was not a huge fan ~ I loved the concept, but the 3 shades that were available at that time were sheer and in neon shades of orange, hot pink and cherry red.  However lip tints have come a long way since 2014 when I started seeing them ~ I know they have been around a lot longer ~ and now even the Western market has their own versions of sheer, buildable lip tints… my favorite is Dior Addict Lip Tattoo in Rosewood.

As I love matte lippies, I wanted a creamy matte lip tint that wouldn’t crack or separate, dry out my lips and I wanted it to be pretty much budge-proof.   When I saw Moonshot Cream Paint Tintfit, I was immediately interested as it seems to fit all of the things I wanted.  Thanks to Jolse, a premier online Korean Beauty shop, I was able to choose from a variety of shades and selected #504 Another Red.  Jolse sent me this for review purposes.

I received some of these products complementary to review and was not paid.  All reviews are my own honest opinion and  I never have been asked to write copy for a brand.  This blog post might contain promo codes, affiliate and referral links, which using my links will help generate a small commission that helps support my blog at no extra cost to you.

My skin type and concerns:  doesn’t really pertain to this review

I love the packaging on this lip tint ~ it comes in a sleek black tube, except at the bottom of the tube, where the color shows through.  Moonshot is printed on one side and Cream Paint Tintfit is on the other side.  The applicator is a nice does foot applicator and it picks up enough product to provide full coverage with one swipe across the lips.  This is a great opaque shade, highly pigmented and Another Red is more of a red-orange, perfect for the late summer and fall months.

The tint is very lightweight and has that whipped chiffon texture that I have come to love with creamy lip tints.  It does have a creamy finish but instantly dries down to a nice semi-matte but it isn’t dry or cakey ~ it keeps its nice creamy consistency even when dry.  It is great to use for a blurring effect as well, as it still is quite pigmented ~ to do a blurring effect, either use your finger to dab the product on instead of the doe applicator or use a makeup brush to pick off and blur it after you apply it on your lips.

Okay, here comes the test.  I applied the tint to my lips, let it dry, then put on my face mask and went out into the world for several hours to run some errands

This was a very hot day when I did this, so I was not only dealing with a mask against my lips, but the hot moist heat trapped inside.

When I came home, I took off the mask and inspected it.  To my great surprise, this lip tint held up astonishingly well ~ hardly any of the product transferred to the mask and my lips still looked pretty darn good ~ not a lot of smudging going on here ~ I only noticed the smudging on my upper lip.

Final Thoughts

I need to try out more of the Moonshot Cream Paint Tintfit ~ the Orange Caramel looks great for fall and that will be my next purchase.  I wish there were more shades in this product as it really is a great lippie to wear under a mask ~ for me, I found it had staying power without smearing noticeably.
