I’ve decided to resume unboxing of Target Beauty Boxes here, even though Target has not made this an automatic monthly subscription option. Instead, you have to haunt the Target Beauty Box page around the beginning of the month to see when they are available ~ lately it looks like they offer them on the first Monday of the month, but don’t quote me ~ I’ve actually seen them put them up before the beginning of the month too.
Target Beauty Boxes range from $5.00 to $15.00, depending on the products included and they sell out within a couple of days. I’ve been purchasing Target Beauty Boxes regularly now for a few months and since I dropped Birchbox, it seems that Target fills that space for me ~ I already subscribe to Sephora and The 3B Box for beauty samples (high end and Asian skincare/makeup) and Target fills that need for me for inexpensive, but solid beauty products. Target will also add health items as well, as beauty isn’t just on your skin, but in your insides 🙂 This box sold out quickly, but sometimes they will come back in stock.

Target Beauty Boxes also come with a $3.00 coupon that expires in one month ~ it is good for purchases made in their Beauty department (online or in store) $15.00 or more.
EDEN BodyWorks Peppermint Tea Tree Shampoo and EDEN BodyWorks Peppermint Tea Tree Conditioner I admit I purchased this box mainly for these two items. I received an EDEN BodyWorks deep conditioning product in last month’s box, which I will have in my hair treatments review blog post that I am working on, and I liked it a lot. I have never heard of EDEN BodyWorks before that conditioner, but so far, I am liking this brand. These are natural shampoos and conditioners made with peppermint and tea tree oil, so it really is a product that works for my oily hair and scalp. The shampoo cleanses and clarifies, increases hair strength and reduces itchiness and dandruff. The conditioner helps restore moisture and detangle, also increases hair strength while reducing split ends. These smell wonderful ~ very pepperminty and with a hint of tea tree. The scent is quite strong, but I love peppermint scents and I am sure these will be very refreshing and cooling while I wash my hair. These are both free from sulfates (sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate is not a sulfate) and parabens. 2 x 2 oz bottles RV $3.50

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer – Coconut Oil I actually have tried these moisturizers that you apply on your body after you shower and I didn’t like them that much as I felt they left a greasy feel to my skin. I hadn’t tried the Jergens version and I am glad I did ~ first, this smells absolutely wonderful ~ if you love coconuts, this is for you! Also, this is lotion is very lightweight and absorbs quickly into my skin ~ it almost has that “waterdrop” effect on my skin as it sinks into it. You apply this while your skin is still damp and wet, right after you get out of the shower, but I am sure you can use it on dry skin as well. Two thumbs up for this coconut delight! 2 oz sample RV $1.25

This quick absorbing formula blends with water on wet skin to instantly lock in hydration. So now you can have 2X luminous skin straight out of the shower.
Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Mineral Oil, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Ceteareth-20, Methylparaben, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Ethylparaben, Sodium Hydroxide, Cocoas Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
Derma E Hydrating Day Crème with Hyaluronic Acid I normally do not use Derma E moisturizers as they can be really heavy on my skin, but this one with the hyaluronic acid was of interest to me. They state that it is for dry and normal skin, but this is a really lightweight cream that absorbs quickly into my skin. It reminds me of cosRX Intensive Facial Cream in many ways and I think I will use this as a night moisturizer instead of a day cream. Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate) is an intensive moisturizing ingredient which bonds water to keep skin hydrated. It is a natural substance found in the human body and it made up of amino and uronic acids, and helps retain 100 to 1,000 times its own water weight in our skin cells. With winter and cooler months approaching, I really stock up on HA and beta glucan products for my skin ~ oily skin can get dehydrated especially during the drier winter months. This also has Vitamins A, C and E, powerful anti-aging antioxidants that will help brighten your skin and aloe vera, a powerful moisturizer that doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily or greasy. Aloe soothes, treats inflammation, helps speed up skin healing and also has a plethora of antioxidants ~ beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, which help improve your skin’s firmness and keeps your skin moist and hydrated. It also contains over 75 different nutritious ingredients, including minerals, enzymes, amino acids, salicylic acid and much more. I actually like the scent of this as it smells a bit sweet and fruity to my nose, which is due to the plumeria fragrance. Sample Size 1/2 oz RV $3.60

Laneige BB Cushion SPF 50+ Target needs to make a K-Beauty box. Just saying ~ they have other K-Beauty brands as well, like Mizon. Laneige seems to show up quite a bit in their boxes and I think this is 3rd or 4th time I received this sample from them. It actually is packaged very nicely ~ with 3 shades (light, medium, medium-dark) and the 4th round holds a tiny BB puff to apply your cream. Alas, Laneige BB Cushion provides that dewy look and I hate the dewy look on my oily skin. I think this BB cream is better for those with drier skin than mine. I do have a love-hate relationship with Laneige ~ their products are usually heavily scented, which for some of their product lines, I do not mind. Their Multiberry line smells like ripe berries and their Clear-C smells very citrus-y, so you know I will enjoy those scents. However, some of their other lines, like their Water Bank line, is very floral-scented and so is this one. I dislike floral scents for the most part ~ there are exceptions ~ in my makeup and even if this was a matte finish, I wouldn’t use it. However, there are great reviews on this product, so if you like floral scents and like dewy skin, I do think you should try it out. 2 gram x 3 = 6 gram (.21 oz) plus puff RV $6.80

Chapstick Total Hydration Moisture + Tint in Coral Blush Chapstick also offers this tint in Rose Petal and Merlot ~ I would have loved to get Merlot, but Coral Blush is fine as well. Chapstick is staple in my lip balm collection and having a tinted one is fantastic. The coral color is a nice peachy shade ~ not overpowering or bright, but very muted. This balm tint can be built up to get a more intense shade as well. The ingredients are 100% naturally sourced, contains moisturizing sunflower, olive, soybean, coconut, castor, raspberry, jojoba and rosehip oils, along with shea and mango butters which will smooth and soothe your lips. I didn’t notice any strong scent with this. Full Size RV $4.99

Wet n Wild ProLine Graphic Marker Eyeliner – Black I love liquid eyeliners so I was happy to give this a try. Wet n Wild is a very inexpensive brand, but I find that their makeup is fun, sassy, trendy and wears well. However, I wasn’t that impressed with this eyeliner. It is a marker and I prefer a fine brush liquid eyeliner. I found that its tip tugged too much on my eyelids and I couldn’t make a fine line on my eyes ~ it had to be very wide and thick. It is a very black and has a satin finish, dries quickly and is very long lasting. I guess if I want a really thick eyeliner look, I would reach for this, but for daily wear, I prefer a thinner line. Full Size .84 oz RV $3.99
Ingredients: Water, Acrylates Copolymer, Laureth-21, Butylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycerin, Propanediol, Propylene Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Trisodium EDTA. Black 2/CI 77266.
Wet n Wild Eyeliner & Chapstick Coral Blush Balm Swatches
I paid $7.00 for this box and received a value of around $24.00. This is one of their lower valued boxes but I still think it is a very good deal if you want to try out samples first. A lot of their boxes are much higher in price, so it evens out through-out the year. I did receive over 3 times the amount I paid for it and I am pretty happy with it. I am excited to try out new minty clarify products for my hair and the HA cream looks to be a winner as well.
Did you get this Beauty Box from Target? Should Target make this a monthly subscription and what do you think they should charge for it? They have changed their policy so you can only place one box in one order, as so many people were ordering 10 or 15 boxes at a time. I sometimes like to order 2 boxes or 3, if I am going to purchase for my family, but now that means that I have to do so as an individual order for each one. I can still use the coupon, which is a nice deal, but I have to make sure that my order at Target is $15.00 or over with Beauty products if I want to use it when I purchase my next Beauty Box. I think for November, I will add in a couple of products, including the Chapstick in Merlot!
