I now have two Yogi Surprise subs! One is for their lifestyle box, which I will be receiving next week and the other is my jewelry sub, which I have been sub’d to since last fall. They usually give one spoiler for the jewelry box, but the other 2 items are a mystery 🙂 What is Yogi Surprise?

The Jewelry box will contain two handcrafted yoga inspired jewelry pieces, that are fair trade, sustainably harvested materials, nickle-free, lead-free and cadmium free. These are made in Bali, Indonesia and 10% of all proceeds will be given to education the Balinese families to make these beautiful pieces. It also contains an organic chocolate treat.

This month’s theme is “Solstice Celebration” The Summer Solstice, occurring on the 20th of June at 6:34 PM ET, marks the longest day of the year and officially beams the beginning of summer. ‘Solstic’ is derived from two Latin words, ‘sol’ meaning “the sun” and ‘sistere’ meaning “to stand still”. This translate literally to ‘sun standing still’! That’s why this month we’re celebrating the arrival of summer with the glowing brilliance of yellow jade and the nourishing properties of a chakra talisman. The Chakra Healing Talisman By Chakra Love This is a first ~ this necklace is not made by the artisans in Bali, Indonesia but in Seattle, WA USA. I don’t know how I feel about this, as one of the reasons why I subscribe to this box is that it is to give back to the community that created the jewelry. I actually love the ones with the hammered brass ring as that has more presence as this stone is dainty. I will probably give this away, as I am not into small stones like this. This is an 18 inch necklace, with a rose quartz stone and is on a light brown vegan cotton cord. RV $22.00

Yellow Jade OM Bracelet This is quite beautiful ~ I love the different shades of yellow and amber in this jade bracelet, offset by the silver toned OM charm. However, there are two things wrong with this ~ it is still too small for my wrist ~ Yogi Surprise was supposed to keep these bracelets at 7 inches or higher. Beads add bulk so at 7 inches or less make these elastic bracelets too small and pinch. It isn’t like I have a HUGE wrist, it is about 6 3/4 inches, but you have to add some space ~ a plain bracelet would be around 7 inches. Add in beads and I need more space. The other thing that really is bad are the beads ~ the flat circle shape does not lend itself to a stretch bracelet ~ there are no spacers in-between each bead, so what happens is that the beads will not lay flat on my wrist and they twist and turn, making the bracelet twist and smaller. This is such a shame as the stones are a beautiful color. I might have to look into taking this bracelet apart and making something else with the beads. RV $28.00

Rawxies Mint Chocolate Chip Heart Cookie This cookie is made with fresh cacao, crunch cacao nibs and pure peppermint oils. This cookie is vegan, gluten free, soy free and is low in sugar, no artificial sweeteners, contains 3 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein. Each cookie is 130 calories and this is considered a “pre-digested” food. No, that doesn’t mean what you might think it does! Rawxies are not heated about 105 degrees and therefore still has its natural enzymes. We produce our own enzymes to break down foods but since this still has its natural enzymes (living food), it is easily digested and it is great for those who may suffer from digestive issues. This is the most interesting item in the box for me! I do suffer from IBS, so I am very interested in trying this cookie. RV $3.00

I have to say, I am very disappointed with this month’s box. The stones are beautiful, but the flat oval beads do not work with a stretch bracelet ~ it twists and turns, doesn’t lay flat. The necklace is okay, nothing to write home about. I think the cookie is the most exciting thing for me in this month’s box. The value this month is really under what they state, which is $65.00 or more in each box. I paid $25.00 for this box and received a RV of $53.00 ~ this is the first time that I do not feel that this box was worth the $25.00 I paid for it. Oh well, at least part of the proceeds from this box will go back to the local artisans that made these items and help educate their community.
