It’s been a while since I purchased a box at Memebox ~ I just have so much product right now that I don’t “need” a box.  However when they came out with their Festival Ready Skincare Box. It had some items that I was interested in and for $25.00, I figured why not?

Nooni Spring Water Root Energy Cleansing Water   I was not a fan of the toner from the Nooni line (more on that later), because of the floral scent, so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this cleansing water.  It actually doesn’t smell as strong as the Nooni Springwater Sprout toner, so this is a plus!  I can live this with.  This has lotus roots, which has several properties ~ it moisturizes and hydrates the skin, soothing and calming your skin, as it is an anti-inflammatory, it contains natural AHA that helps gently exfoliate dead skin cells, revealing brighter and newer skin and contains proteins which helps strengthen your skin, restoring elasticity.   Beet extracts contain natural antioxidants (anthocyanadins), which help combat free radicals and also contain vitamins and minerals beneficial to your skin.   As I mentioned, the scent is floral, but I think it is not as strong as the toner and this is a mini, so I can live with it. I will probably keep this at my job, as it is a nice size for my work “vanity” 😀   Memebox suggests using it to remove makeup stains on clothing or to clean your makeup brushes.  Mini 30 mL RV $1.50

Nooni Springwater Sprout Smoothing Toner  I had purchased the full sized version of this when it was first released and you can read my original review here (I also have a couple of other items in that review too)   I will repeat my original review here

So, nooni is a Memebox brand and I did enjoy their cleansing balm, so I was really excited when Memebox came out with “Sprout” line, which has a Spring Water Root Energy Cleansing Water ~ that wasn’t available when I purchased the toner ~ and two toners, Spring Water Seed Essence Toner for dry/normal skin and Spring Water Sprout Soothing Toner for oily/normal skin.  I purchased the Sprout Soothing, as I do have oily skin.  This product sounded so wonderful ~ the promise of sprouts and super foods

Broccoli is a superfood it not only contains antioxidants like beta-carotene and Vitamin C, it also has Vitamin B complex, Vitamin E ~ which creates radiant skin and shiny hair as it revives skin tissue, Vitamin A and K, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Amino Acids and Folic Acid (Vitamin B9). All of these vitamins help care for your skin and keep it glowing and healthy. Broccoli also contains glucoraphanin, a phytonutrient, which has been reported in reversing sun damage on your skin.

Soybeans moisturize, help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helps firm skin and can reverse UV sun damage, over time

Canola provides anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits and will  help soothe your skin.   Canola is rich in protein and other nutrients which will help firm and put a “bounce” back into your skin.

It also has a lot of acids to help exfoliate dead skin cells ~ citric, malic, lactic, glycolic, pyruvic, tartaric, salicylic. The toner is a watery one and it does leave my face hydrated without a sticky residue.

BUT THE SCENT. It is HEAVY FLORAL and not only that, it is artificial scented. It isn’t a fresh green scent, like the Innisfree Green Tea Cleaning Water. This stuff is SO strong that I cannot have it on my face, like a normal toner. I am not using this as a toner now, but as a “cleansing” water and then I wash my face. It really is such a shame, because this product has great ingredients in it. I don’t understand why Memebox made this so scented ~ surely it could have been unscented.

As you can tell, this is really heavily scented and it isn’t just for me.  However, I’ve read other reviews on this line and it really is a matter of taste ~ some people love this scent and others do not.  I will be putting this in a giveaway as I have a HUGE bottle of it myself and it is a cute little mini.  The ingredients are wonderful.   Memebox suggests to use it on rought spots like elbows and feet ~ there is an idea for me to use up my big bottle! Skinfood Gummy Bear Jelly Clean Gel – Apple  I have to admit, this product was one of the reasons why I got this box!  haha.  This is a hand sanitizer and comes in a cute gummy bear container.  The body is a soft  plastic so you can squeeze out the liquid-gel, but the head is a hard plastic.  I actually think it looks like my bear has boobs!!  I know, those are the bears “arms” in front of the body, but you have to admit, it reminds me of the ancient Earth Mother Goddess  figures .  At any rate, the head screws off (decapitated!) and the gel is very alcohol scented.  Very alcohol scented.  I cannot stress how much this smells like straight up rubbing alcohol.  But that dries down and you then can smell the apple scent.  I didn’t find it sticky afterwards.   Very cute and there is a line of Gummy Bear hand creams too! Ariul Stress Relieving Purefull Cleansing Tissue  I use cleansing tissues all the time ~ they are a time saver and when you don’t have time to find a cotton pad for your cleansing water.  I keep wipes in my car, office and purse, as well as in my bathroom too!  I am the cleansing wipe fiend.  They are not a substitute for actually washing your face, but they help refresh and quickly remove make up too (I love Skinfood’s Rice Oil Wipes ~ those are great) I can always use more wipes.  Full Size 80 mL 15 wipes RV $3.00

RE:CIPE Natural Sun Roll SPF50+ PA+++  There were three items in this box I wanted to try and this is the 2nd one!  I am really into sunscreens and I love RE:CIPE Green Tea Oil Cleanser (review) and RE:CIPE Slowganic Cleanser (review).  I am really happy with this roll on sunscreen (what a cute idea) and the cream goes on light and not sticky.  When I massage it into my skin, it does not feel greasy and it almost has a powdery finish, but it has no color and does not leave a white cast nor is it tacky.  The scent is a light floral so it isn’t too bad.   Wear your sunscreen ~ best defense against fighting wrinkles and hyper-pigmentation.  This has a ton of flower extracts and waters, along with aloe vera to help moisturize and soothe your skin.  There is an ingredient or two that I am allergic too in here and I had to do patch testing, so I am glad I looked up the ingredients list on the official RE:CIPE site instead of relying on Memebox’s ingredient list!!  They really need to update it, as it is wrong.  Full Size 50mL   $22.00

Skinfood Green Tea Deo Body Mist   This was the 3rd item I really wanted.  A lot of body mists smell either artificial or are too strongly scented as florals or baby powder.  Not this one!  This smells delightful ~it may have alcohol in it, but the scent is a lovely green tea one, very light and refreshing.  Perfect for the spring time.   Full Size 50 mL  $20.00

Bon Vivant Botanical Mask Pack Soothing & Hydrating Aloe  I have these already and out of the Bon Vivant series, these are my favorite ~ I will repeat my review here    1 mask RV $3.00

This mask is designed to calm sensitive skin and also deeply hydrate your skin. Memebox has created a sheet mask whose mask material is made from the botanical fibers of the main ingredient ~ in this case, aloe vera fibers ~ and instead of water as the primary ingredient, uses the main ingredient “juice” ~ again aloe vera extract for this mask. The mask sheet is a brown material and whereas it isn’t thin like a silk mask, it isn’t thick either. However, it is clumsy to unfold and place on your skin, even with the plastic grid-like protector. I find this a bit hard to unfold and I am pretty good at these things. The mask is soaked with essence, but there isn’t a lot left over, so the mask fibers are really absorbing that liquid. My face feels tingly and cool when I wear these masks ~ according to Memebox, that is because my skin is “working hard to recover its healthy pH levels” ~ What? Is that correct? hmmm, I have never read anything like that before anywhere and there isn’t anything unusual about these ingredients that would make me think that.

The scent is less disagreeable than the Mint + Tree Tree one ~ this one has a soapy, light floral scent. My face does feel refreshed and cool after 35 minutes and I can see that the Bon Vivant masks would be better choices in the summertime for me. They both are very cooling and refreshing without being in the frig and feel nice on the skin. I still would love to know what makes these ingredients “recover my pH levels” ~ I cannot see it here. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable about this can enlighten me? The only thing I can think of is the tromethamine ingredient, as it is a pH adjuster, but it is so far down the ingredient list, I am not sure it would have this effect.

I am pretty happy with my Festival Skincare Box, as these are all great products to use when you are out in the warm weather ~ cleansing wipes, cleansing water,  toner, hand sanitizer in a really cute gummy bear shape, sunscreen, body mist and for when your face is sunburned or overheated, a soothing, cooling mask.   All of these items are small and light weight enough to put in a tote bag and carry around too.  I think Memebox curated this box really nicely for those outdoor events and fun in the sun times!    I paid $25.00 for my box and received a Memebox Value of $61.00 ~ Did you get the Festival Skincare Box?  What was your favorite item or items?  This box is still on sale at Memebox today  (click here) ~ they have changed their free shipping rates from $30.00 t0 $35.00, so if you want a really nice makeup remover tissue, I do recommend the Skinfood’s Rice Oil Wipes ones for $10.00 and then you can get free shipping.
