Nooni Spring Water Sprout Soothing Toner & Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Water Review

You are probably wondering why I have decided to review two products that are so different ~ a toner and cleansing water.  Well, it is because I am now using the toner as a cleansing water!!   Also, the floral scent ~ both the Innisfree and Nooni products have a strong floral scent, but only one of them is acceptable to me.  Let’s dig down into these products, plus a bonus repeat review at the end 😀

Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Water I love using cleansing waters ~ they are fantastic fo when you want to quickly remove your makeup and just refresh your face when you get home from work or first thing in the morning ~ I usually have my breakfast before I take a shower, but I like to quickly remove any residue of my night time skincare products.   I also use them after I rinse off a clay or wash off mask pack, to ensue that I have removed all of the product.  Innisfree Green Tea contains 85% green tea extract ~ it can reverse skin damage as well as an anti-inflammatory.   Green Tea is full of powerful anti-oxidants, due to its high concentration of polyphenols, green tea helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.   It also contains witch hazel, which is an blemish prone skin’s best friend because it has antibacterial and antiseptic qualities which helps clear up acne and it removes excess oil from skin.  It also helps shrinks blood vessels, which tightens our skin.  Witch Hazel can speed up healing and is a powerful anti-inflammatory, which also helps soothe skin.  Finally, Witch Hazel refreshes and rejuvenates skin, refines the pores and seal in moisture.   Innisfree is also known for their famous Innisfree Green Complex:  citrus unshiu, orchid, green tea, camellia and prickly pear (opuntia coccinellifera) extracts ~ full of antioxidant compounds. This is free from parabens, artificial coloring, mineral oils and animal products.

This cleansing water does leave behind a bit of a tacky feeling ~ however,  my skin does absorb it fairly quickly, so it isn’t like I have a heavy dew face going on or anything.   If you find that it doesn’t absorb fast enough, just gently pat your face and it should sink in.  For those familiar with Innisfree’s green tea line, the scent is the same in this product as well ~ it is a fresh floral-herbal green scent.    It is pretty strong initially, but the scent is not unpleasant and it does disappear quickly.  I suppose I am used it!  This works really nicely as a cleansing water, as it does remove most makeup except for water proof items, like eyeliners and mascara.  Since I will wash my face later, I am not looking for a product that removes stubborn makeup, but just one that will remove oil, most makeup and refresh my face.   I do recommend avoiding your eyes as it will sting.

I really like the pump applicator as well ~ just make sure you have a few cotton pads over the top and press down gently or it will squirt everywhere!  I soak cotton pads fully and then wipe over my face, flipping the pad over and wiping down further.  I make sure I follow up with another pad soaked with this cleansing water to make sure that my face is pretty clean.  I  actually like this product, even with the strong scent ~ I’ve been using it during the cooler months, as I feel it not only cleans nicely, but adds additional moisture to my skin.    This is a HUGE size of cleansing water ~300 mL and it lasts several months.   You can purchase this at Memebox for $12.00 (click here)   If you are international, you can find this at Innisfree World for $14.00 (click here)

nooni Spring Water Sprout Soothing Toner  So, nooni is a Memebox brand and I did enjoy their cleansing balm, so I was really excited when Memebox came out with “Sprout” line, which has a Spring Water Root Energy Cleansing Water ~ that wasn’t available when I purchased the toner ~ and two toners, Spring Water Seed Essence Toner for dry/normal skin and Spring Water Sprout Soothing Toner for oily/normal skin.  I purchased the Sprout Soothing, as I do have oily skin.  This product sounded so wonderful ~ the promise of sprouts and super foods

  • Broccoli is a superfood it not only contains antioxidants like beta-carotene and Vitamin C, it also has Vitamin B complex, Vitamin E ~ which creates radiant skin and shiny hair as it revives skin tissue, Vitamin A and K, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Amino Acids and Folic Acid (Vitamin B9). All of these vitamins help care for your skin and keep it glowing and healthy. Broccoli also contains glucoraphanin, a phytonutrient, which has been reported in reversing sun damage on your skin.
  • Soybeans moisturize, help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helps firm skin and can reverse UV sun damage, over time
  • Canola provides anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits and will  help soothe your skin.   Canola is rich in protein and other nutrients which will help firm and put a “bounce” back into your skin.

It also has a lot of acids to help exfoliate dead skin cells ~ citric, malic, lactic, glycolic, pyruvic, tartaric, salicylic. The toner is a watery one and it does leave my face hydrated without a sticky residue.

BUT  THE SCENT. It is HEAVY FLORAL and not only that, it is artificial scented.  It isn’t a fresh green scent, like the Innisfree Green Tea Cleaning Water.  This stuff is SO strong that I cannot have it on my face, like a normal toner.  I am not using this as a toner now, but as a “cleansing” water and then I wash my face.  It really is such a shame, because this product has great ingredients in it.  I don’t understand why Memebox made this so scented ~ surely it could have been unscented.   From my readers, I have found out that this is what the whole nooni Sprout line smells like, so I am not going to even try their official cleansing water now.   This is a huge bottle ~ 350 mL and Memebox is currently selling this for $17.00

My Beauty Diary Ultra Cleansing Water  So, I thought I would bring this baby back for an encore.  This is THE cleansing water of all cleansing waters for me.   I cannot gush anymore about this than I already have ~ seriously, I love MBD Ultra Cleansing Water.  I will repeat my original review here

I have done a pH test on this and it is around a 6.5 to 7.  I love this product and it really does help remove any cleansing/pack product that I may still have on my face or just when I get home from work and I want to quickly clean my face after a long day.   MBD Ultra does do a great job getting into my pores and cleaning out “stuff” that I missed with my normal cleansing routine. I love this formula and my face does feel  refreshed, clean and my pores do look “tighter”, without any oily feeling and my skin does not feel tight.  I find this to be  much more economical than facial wipes and if you use reusable cotton pads, then it is very eco-friendly as well.   I still use wipes ~ those are great for when I need portability or I am too lazy, but this cleansing water has become a regular in my skincare routine.  This is a colorless and odorless cleansing water.   This is a very nice, mild cleansing water, that also purifies and remove dirt from your pores as well as tightening your pores ~ water-soluble and oil-soluble;  This does not contain oil, alcohol, fragrance or parabens.   It is good for sensitive skin and skin with “troubles” (acne) and contains broccoli extracts, flavonoids and aloe extracts, to help balance the water and oil moisture in your skin.

Not only does this contain the superfood broccoli and soy but also aloe vera ~  a powerful moisturizer that doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily or greasy. It soothes, treats inflammation, helps speed up skin healing and also has a plethora of antioxidants ~ beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, which help improve your skin’s firmness and keeps your skin moist and hydrated. It also contains over 75 different nutritious ingredients, including minerals, enzymes, amino acids and salicylic acid.  Allantoin is also featured in here, which is known for healing, soothing and softening skin, helping  remove cracked and chapped skin and  leaving behind healthy looking skin.  MBD is my favorite because its ingredient list (pretty simple) and it is scentless, while leaving my face feeling refreshed, cleansed and my pores look more smaller.   You can purchase the mini (100 mL) at Beautibi for $5.00 (click here)   or the 400 mL version at eBay (click here) for under $20.00   I am not sure why this product is getting harder to find, as Beauteque used to carry it and now it is getting harder to find online.

Description: This 3-in-1 gentle cleansing water soothes, moisturizes and softens skin. An effective cleansing base, make up is easily removed without rubbing and face and eyes are left thoroughly clean. Perfect for those times when you want a quick, but effective face cleanse.

Ingredients: water, PEG-6 caprylic/capric glycerides, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, phenoxyethnol, propanediol, chlorphenesin, saccharide isomerate, bioflavonoids brassica oleracea ilalica (broccoli) extract, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, allantoin, yeast extract, soy amino acids, iodopropynyl butycarbamate  cosDNA.com analysis
