I purchased a set of L’Herboflore Oriental Herbs Collection from beautibi a couple of months ago and have been blogging about them at my IG account. I have finally gone thru the six masks and am compiling the reviews here in a mask digest, so it is easy to find the reviews.
Eight Elixir Royal Whitening Mask, Job’s Tears Brightening Mask, Four Kernels Oil Control, Honeysuckle Balancing Mask, Pearl + Ginseng Whitening Mask, Ginseng Anti-Aging Mask and Soy Milk Hydrating Mask

L’Herboflore is a Taiwanese brand and they make fantastic facial sheet masks as well as other products. I have used L’Herboflore masks before ~ lavender, soy, apple, strawberry and I really do like them. If you have been following me on IG and also on my blog, you would have noticed that I have been really into Taiwan masks for the last year or so, thanks to my MaskGenie subscription ~ I started off with My Scheming, went on with My Beauty Diary, Sister Diary, Annie’s Way and now L’Herboflore. This series focuses on using traditional Asian herbal ingredients and the ultra thin mask sheets are made from Japanese silk.
L’Herboflore Soy Milk Hydrating Mask I actually have used this before as I keep tossing it into my cart when I purchase something at beautibi! L’Herboflore actual mask sheet material is not my favorite at all, but the essence in these masks are fantastic. I did need a hydrating mask last night, as my skin was so dry from the cold outside and the heated indoors ~ and on top of that, I did a detox mask which did bring down the moisture a little bit. This mask had no scent that I could really tell and I left it on for about 20 minutes ~ L’Herboflore masks do dry out quickly (or at least they are now, as a heated apartment would cause it to dry out sooner). My moisture level jumped way up as it increased by 58%!! I love my soy products and this mask is no exception. No tackiness or sticky residue on my face afterwards ~ my face is almost matte as it just soaked up the treatment. No wonder I keep adding this mask to my cart

L’Herboflore Four Kernels Oil Control When I used this mask, I had a nice blemish due to a sleep study I did and had to have tape on my face. sigh. This is a thin mask, a bit rough, & has two protectors ~ plastic pearl and a blue side. I like that I can manipulate this mask easily on my face to ensure a good fit around my nose, eyes and mouth. It is scentless with lots of essence, but because the mask is so thin, it dries out quickly. After 25 minutes, I removed the mask and my skin’s moisture level is 56.2% and my face looks matte, not dewy, which is great for oil control mask. My skin is cool to the touch and the essence was quickly absorbed, so no sticky tacky feeling. I didn’t like the mask sheet itself ~ it seems to be a rough material, but I love how the mask performed, so I will overlook that. Two thumbs up!!

L’Herboflore Honeysuckle Balancing Mask What is a balancing mask anyway? Well, it is supposed to balance the oil and moisture level in your skin. This mask felt better than the Four Seeds Oil Control one ~ the sheet mask seems to be more silky to the touch. This also has the 2-protectors around this very thin cotton mask ~ I always remove the blue thin paper backing first, place the mask on my face with the pearl (plastic) paper facing outwards and then once in place, gently remove the pearl paper. Sufficient enough essence for the mask with some in the pouch, that I just patted onto the mask. Since I was a bit careless with removing the pearl paper, the strip between the nose and upper lip had “thinned” out a bit (stretched), which is always an issue with thinner masks. The mask did come up to the sides of my nose nicely, but the actual nose piece was lacking a bit ~ it ended about 3/4 of the way down my nose (and my nose isn’t long).
That said, this fit really nice, the eye and mouth area were not cramped or cut off and the chin was covered. Not much of a scent that I could detect. Thinner mask sheets like this seem to dry out quicker around the nose area and around the perimeter of the mask as well. I removed it after 25 minutes, due to the edges and nose being dry and there was no tacky residue. I didn’t really see a difference with my oil/moisture balance, but then again, facial sheet masks are temporary “fixes” that would need to be used long term to see long term benefits. However, I did like how refreshed my face looked and my moisture level was at 54% 3 minutes after I removed the mask.
Description: Honeysuckle flower extract contains flavonoids, inositol and saponin. Incorporated with bitter Ginseng, Chinese liquorice and Aloe Vera extracts, this mask can effectively prevent the formation of acne and balance the levels of oil and water in the skin.
Ingredients: Aqua(water),Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Chondrus Crispus(Carrageenan), Propylene Glycol, Artemisia Capillaris (Chinese Wormwood/Yen Chen Hao) Flower Extract, Triethylene Glycol, Magnesium chloride, Magnesium nitrate, Forsythia Suspensa (lian qiao) Fruit Extract, Sophora Augustifolia Root Extract, Bletilla Striata (Chinese Ground Orchid) Root Extract, Phragmites Communis Extract, Poria Cocos (fu-ling fungi) Extract, Allantoin, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum,Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (licorice), Trehalose, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Mannitol, Sodium Citrate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Beta-Glucan, Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Sulfite, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate cosDNA.com analysis
L’Herboflore Ginseng Anti-Aging Mask Continuing onward with my L’Herboflore Oriental Herbs series of masks, I used the L’Herboflore Ginseng Anti-Aging Mask the other night. L’Herboflore is a Taiwanese brand and their masks are really lovely ~ ultra thin sheet masks made with “breathable hydration locking Japanese silk“. This contains Panax Ginseng ~ used in anti-aging skin care products, as it is can stimulate the skin and activate the blood flow, which will increase toning and production of new skin cells. It also has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, due to natural carbohydrate called saponin, and will help reverse damage caused by free radicals, such as hyper-pigmentation and also combat free radicals to prevent new skin damage of fine lines and wrinkles. Ginseng detoxes your skin and leaves it radiant and glowing. Applied topically, it helps stimulate collagen production to promote cellular renewal. Its herbal properties and usage dates back over 5,000 years.
These masks are very thin, so it comes protected with a thin blue paper and a plastic “pearl paper”. I recommend removing the thin blue paper first and then applying the mask (with the plastic paper facing outwards from your face), adjusting it and then gently, very gently removing the plastic paper. This mask is drenched in essence ~ tons of it in the packet, which I just apply over the mask and onto my neck. This mask has no scent (sad face ~ I would love a ginseng scent) and because the sheet mask is sooo thin, it dries out quickly. I try not to let a mask dry out completely on my face as that defeats the purpose ~ the sheet will be sucking moisture from your face if the mask is all dried out. I removed the mask after 25 minutes and did notice that my pores looked smaller in appearance, my face was hydrated and looked brighter overall. I am a huge fan of ginseng masks and L’Herboflore, so I am happy I liked this one!

L’Herboflore Job’s Tears Brightening Mask 蕾舒翠 Job’s Tears, aka Chinese Pearl Barley, aka Coix Lacryma-Jobi contain nutrients, vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids. Job’s Tears have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for skin as it helps heal and lighten blemishes, redness and will help soften your skin. Again, thin silk mask, soaked in essence. This was also a scentless mask. Dries out quickly and removed after 25 minutes. I didn’t really notice a brightening effect with this mask ~ but like most L’Herboflore masks, my face was moisturized and hydrated and the mask felt cool on my skin. It was a nice, but no immediate brightening.

L’Herboflore Pearl & Ginseng Whitening Mask 🎭🎭🎭 This is a whitening mask made with pearls and ginseng. Ginseng is a traditional ingredient in Asian medicine and has been used for aging concerns, due to its antioxidant phytonutrients that will help combat free radicals while stimulating collagen production deep down in your skin. Pearl powder is also an ancient medicine ingredient, as it has been used to reverse and repair sun damaged skin, soften and brighten our skin’s texture and tone.
This mask actually has a faint hanbang scent which I am surprised, as the other ginseng mask had no scent to it at all. Very thin silk sheet mask, very wet with essence. I did leave this mask on for 25 minutes and removed it as it was drying out ~ the thinner the mask, the quicker they dry. You want to remove the mask before it is so dry that you are peeling it off your face. A little dampness is fine. I am happy to say that after the lackluster Job’s Tears mask, this one is a winner ~ my face did look brighter, my pores looked smaller and my face did feel hydrated. There was no tacky residue and my face felt clean and refreshed, not oily or greasy. Two thumbs up for the L’Herboflore Pearl & Ginseng Whitening Mask!
Description: Legend has it that Empress Dowager took Ginseng orally every day and applied pearl powder to her face every night for skin treatment for smooth, soft and delicate skin. Containing the precious and high-quality ingredients such as pearl powder, Ginseng and Chinese liquorice extracts; this mask effectively nourishes and moisturizes the skin, improving roughness and dullness
Ingredients: Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extrat, Citric Acid, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Cucumis Sativus (cucumber) Fruit Extract, Propylene Glycol, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Phragmites Communis Extract, Poria Cocos Extract, Allantoin, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hippophae Rhamnoides (seabuckthorn) Fruit Extract, Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernal Extract, Triethylene Glycol, Magnesium Chloride, Magensium Nitrate, Hydrolyzed Pearl, Sea Salt, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Diptassium Glycyrrhizate (licorice), Trehalose, Angelica Acutiloba Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Mannitol, Sodium Citrate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Beta Glucan, Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Sulfite, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate cosDNA.com analysis
L’Herboflore Eight Elixir Royal Whitening Mask I found it!! So, this mask went astray and I did find it and just used it! By now, you know that the Oriental Herbs Masks are thin, soaked with essence and dry out quickly due to the thinness of the mask. This one is basically scentless, although I can briefly smell something medical ~ not herbal ~ it is more sharp than that. Some of the masks in this series contain benzyl alcohol, but this is the only one that contains actual alcohol denat, so I am thinking that the scent is coming from that. After 20 minutes, I did remove the mask. My face does feel moisturized and a bit brighter ~ however, there is a filmy feeling on my face from this mask which is not absorbing all the way thru. I think this mask is highly moisturizing and might be better suited to those who have dry skin, as my oily skin seems to have reached the limit of absorption from this mask. This is not a bad mask, it contains a lot of great hanbang ingredients, which contain anti-aging properties due to their antioxidants, but it just might be too rich for me.
