I purchased Farmacy at Sephora after looking at the ingredients and thinking these might be a good brand to try. I’ve been posting my instablogs on IG and I am wrapping them up in a digest format here on my blog. I am repeating what I wrote in my original IG blog reviews here

Farmacy is part of Sephora’s K-Beauty products and they are made in South Korea. I haven’t heard of this brand until it was sold in Sephora, but it looks like it is marketed here in the USA and the products are made in S. Korea? You can check out their website here and decide for yourself. I think that it is two men who started this company and are just using Korea as their plant operations. Also, Farmacy makes other skin care products ~ creams, lotions, lip balms and so on.
The Farmacy Story: Farm-grown, hand-picked botanicals define Farmacy beauty, which fuses age-old wisdom with cutting-edge technologies to create irritant-free bioactive formulations that support the skins own renewal and defense cycles.

Anti-wrinkle (Rhubarb) Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask I love a good play on words (Pharmacy=Farmacy) and I also am a foodie, so I had to pick up this 3 mask set from Sephora over the weekend. This is the first mask in the New Dawn Mask Medley pack. Rhubarb is full of Vitamin A and helps support your skin’s repair process and will reduce the appearance of wrinkles, nourish your skin and leaving it looking smoother. The mask is a coconut hydrogel, which is a great ingredient for a hydrogel, as it provides moisture, while cooling your skin. I also love this is a one piece hydrogel, as I dislike 2 piece ones (as the lower half just slides off my face). This comes with a paper protector on both sides of the coconut gel, so you have to remove one side first, position the mask on your face and then remove the 2nd paper protector. There is a lot of thick essence in the pouch, which I then applied over the mask as well as on my neck. There is a slight odor to this essence, but I think that is from the coconut, as it does remind me of Leader’s Coconut hydrogel masks.. This mask actually fit pretty well on my face ~ I wasn’t expecting it to, as it looked really round, but as you can tell in the photo, it covered my face fully. After 30 minutes, I removed the mask, which looks like 50% of it had been absorbed into my skin, as it wasn’t as plump with moisture as when I first put it on. That said… I do feel a bit of a film on my face from the essence. It isn’t tacky, but I can feel that the essence hasn’t fully absorbed into my skin. I do not notice any difference other than my face feels quite moisturized. hmmm… Well, I have two more in this series to try out, and I will also let you know if I had any reactions to this mask in tomorrow’s review!

The secret is rhubarb extract, which supports the skin’s natural repair and defense processes leaving it better nourished, stronger, smoother and younger-looking. Firming (Celery) Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask This mask is made with flavanoid rich celery extracts ~ I don’t think I have had a mask made with celery before! It is supposed to combat free radical activity and support collagen and elastin in your skin. All of Farmacy masks are made with echinacea purpourea, which protets your skin by supporting collagen via cichoric acid. I do like how these masks feel on my skin, the fit is really good, smooth without being slimy, very hydrating, little odor as well. I am not sure if this mask helps with firming, I suppose over time it might. But my face does feel refreshed and hydrated for sure. I am just not sure they are worth $8.00 apiece!! It is a coconut mask sheet and that ingredient does absorb into your skin as it does thin out after wear. So far, no adverse reaction on my skin using Farmacy masks.

Brightening (Purple Broccoli) Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask This is the last mask in the 3 New Dawn series from Farmacy. Farmacy masks are very similar to Leaders Coconut Hydrogel Masks. Farmacy mask fit is excellent ~ I have concluded that the fit is probably one of the better one-piece hydrogels out there ~ and this Brightening mask is dripping with essence. The essence is very thick and milky-white and I just add it over the mask and onto my neck. Brightening contains Purple Broccoli extract, which according to their description, “delivers a powerful skin clarifying action due to the varietal’s high level of antizymes, which possess antioxidant properties, in addition to the benefits of chlorophyll, vitamins, and minerals.” Outside of the licorice extract, I do not see niacinamide, which would be the traditional brightening ingredient. One thing I should point out with Farmacy masks is that they all contain olive oil, which some people might be allergic to. This does contain Myrciaria Dubia, also known as camu camu, and that is full of vitamin C, potassium, flavonoids and amino acids (valine, leucine, serine). However, I am not sure what else in this mask is a brightening ingredient.
And when I took the mask off, I saw no noticeable difference in brightening ~ unlike some other masks I have tried, such as Sister Diary Apple.

Final Thoughts
I have to say, this whole series is a let down. These masks are $8.00 each ($24.00 for the 3 pack) and really didn’t see anything except moisturizing. Great fit and all. I cannot recommend these as there are so many other great facial sheet masks out there for the same price or less. You can purchase the New Dawn Mask Medley at Sephora for $24.00

Love this. To be honest, I’ve found that a lot of Korean masks sold at Sephora are WAY over priced and lack results. Along with a lot of their other Korean beauty stuff.
it’s a shame. That’s why my goal (as I’m sure yours is too) is to educate others on other resources for these products other than mainstream corporate Beauty stores. :)) love what you write!

thank you! I was really disappointed by these masks — if they were three dollars each, that would be one thing. but 8.00 each? not really worth it.
