I posted the Starlooks Looksbook for March ~ I was thinking we might get Starlooks new “lip paint” and maybe an eyeshadow. How did I do with my guesses?

These unusually frigid days call for us to turn up the heat! It may not feel like it’s almost Spring, but a girl can dream! And how better to dream than with some dreamy NEW products from Starlooks! Starbox Revealed!
Top to Bottom: Volume Mascara, Diamond Lip Gloss, Infatuated Lip Slick
Volume Mascara in Black ~ okay, black mascara. For the theme “Color My World”, why not a colored mascara? This is a volume mascara. Value $15.00
Description: This mascara contains a deep black pigment to get the blackest lashes possible! It utilizes a polymer that builds upon itself – with each brush stroke the mascara builds and builds, creating a massive volume at the root of the lash! Provides a shiny, thick finish.
Lip Gloss in Diamond ~ Diamond is just clear. Yep, a clear lip gloss for the “Color My World” theme. I don’t use clear lip glosses as my lips aren’t that pigmented. Value $13.00
Description: A truly moisturizing, non-sticky formula available in 47 different shades. Tint ranges from sheer to opaque and finish ranges from shimmer to satin. This creamy, glassy, long-lasting gloss adds a glistening effect to any lip look. Designed to be worn alone or in combination with other Starlooks lip products for a truly customizable finish that completes any look. Each tinted Lip Gloss comes beautifully packaged in a translucent tube with a doe foot applicator.
Ultra Matte Lip Slick in Infatuated ~ yeah, the “lip paint”! Boo-hiss, the color. Well, it does fulfill the “Color My World” theme ~ this is a bright, bright, bright pink-coral shade. For those who read my Memebox reviews, you will note that this color is one that I loathe and makes me look like death warmed over. Some women really ROCK this color, I do not. Sigh. I am excited that Starlooks is going to have this line of Lip Slicks and will be checking it out to see if they have more berry or muted shades. The only lip slick they have on sale is a bright red, so I am hoping that it will be released soon. I am not swatching this as I am not keeping it. Value $14.00
Description: This longwear matte lip formula provides that luscious, velvet pout you’ve been looking for. It’s vibrant bright color will help you turn up the heat in this unusually cold weather and get you excited for Spring/Summer events to come!
Wellllll…..I guess March boxes with Starlooks is jinxed for me ~ last year’s March box was awful ~ horrid red lip colors and a black eyeliner (and this was curated by a beauty blogger, no less!) The items here are nice ~ but it is the colors that lack the execution with me. I would have rather had a more muted, wearable lip stain, a sheer tinted lip gloss and a fun colored mascara (purple, green, blue). Instead, a lip stain that is a color that I certainly cannot pull off (and it makes me look like I have died and gone to Vegas), a boring clear lip gloss (that is what my lip balms are for) and a boring black mascara. After the last couple of months of just amazing items, I guess I was due for a dud of a box. This box was curated poorly for a theme of “Color My World”. The total value of this box was $42.00 and I paid $17.68.

So, there are going to be changes to Starlooks subscription service.
Here is their official press release on the changes
PLUS !! Coming soon after, you’ll also be given the option to “tack on” (buy) additional fashion items, lifestyle items, and accessories (at a significantly discounted price) that Brands opt to sell exclusively to our subscribers!
I will stay on for a month or so to see how it works, but I am saddened by this change. Not so much with the custom vs the classic, or that the sizes are going to be travel sizes ~ but the damn coupons and stuff. I don’t use them. I don’t want coupons to underwear and shit like that. I have no idea who gave THAT feedback to Starlooks, that is for sure. I like getting different items like the brush cleanser, but that was included in the box, not as a coupon. I fear that Starlooks and me might be parting ways on the subscription front…..I liked that this was an all makeup service.
