A few weeks ago, I purchased the Neogen Gold Black Caviar Essence and Gold Tox Tightening Pack from Memebox at the amazing price of $22.00 with free shipping ~ this deal is still going on and I do not know when it will expire.   I purchased this as it seemed very similar to The Skin Factory’s 7-Second Masks, which I really enjoy quite a bit.

Okay, got my box ~ woops ~ BOXES ~ what is this?  A science experiment?  OMG.   I thought at first I ordered the wrong item because at the time I placed my order, I had NO clue what was involved here.  All of the information here and photos ~ after I received this and was wondering the what I got myself into here.

After I unboxed it all, it wasn’t that bad.  I have the main container with the pads and the solution in a jar.  The tweezers and stand were things I wasn’t expecting, so not too bad.  But fancy!    I poured the gold black caviar essence (now known as soup mix) onto of the pack pads and then put the pad jar into the refrigerator for 9 hours ~ to stew in its own juices ~ haha.  The essence smells like citrus, which does make sense due to all of the different citrus extracts that are in the ingredients.  Thank goodness it doesn’t smell like fish eggs!

So, after 9 hours (overnight for me), I then took a look at my science experiment

The soup mix is pretty much saturated into the pads and I can now pluck one out with my tweezers (or my fingers, I am not that worried about contamination, personally).   The photo above is showing the cushion side, which is actually the 2nd step side of the pad.

This is the side that has a fine mesh and it actually has weaving threads through-out the pad.  This is the 1st step side of the pad, which helps gently exfoliate dead skin cells and remove excess debris from my face.   Once I apply that onto my face, gently massaging it and sweeping it around my face, I then flip it over to the cushioned side, where I again sweep the essence over my face, starting from my nose and sweeping outward and then from my chin and sweep upward.   I gently pat in the essence into my skin to complete this skincare routine.

I store my jar in the refrigerator, because there is no instruction stating otherwise.    I happen to really like these pads.  They are similar in concept to the The Skin Factory’s 7-Second Masks, but not the same as their ingredients are different.  The principle behind them with the exfoliating pad on one side and a gentle padded side to smooth out the skin is the same.   Neogen markets their product as a 9 in 1 function with peeling + pack + toner + emulsion + essence + cream + massage + wrinkle & whitening + detox tightening item and Skin Factory is very similar.  I do find the Neogen to be more “rich” in terms of hydration and moisturizing, which is why I use them in my night time skincare regime.

How do I like them? So far, I do like them.   The ease of using them and also the deep hydration of the essence into my skin refreshes and moisturizes very well.  I actually like using these at night time as part of my evening skin care regime.  I don’t use the exfoliating pad around my eyes, but the cushioned side I do pat in the essence around my eyes to help with the fine lines.    I haven’t seen any “tightening” or “whitening” but I have noticed that my skin is more brighter and hydrated when I use these.

Yes, I typed out the list of ingredients, cause I am a nerd.  Yes, this has 71 ingredients.  I ran this list through cosDNA.com and found no triggers for my skin type.  This product looks to be a good one for all skin types, barring any allergies to specific ingredients.
