Scary ghoulies and black cats, Samhain is almost upon us! As a kid, Halloween was my absolute favorite holiday ~ getting dressed up, running around the neighborhood at dark and getting tons of candy. Even as an adult, I love going to the Haunted shows ~ hayrides, festivals and when I lived in Southern California, Universal Studios has an amazing Haunted Studio show. So, this month’s theme is Hocus Pocus, which reminds me that I have to watch this movie again ~ I love it so much

Starting on the left: Copper & Kraft “Witches’ Brew”, Armadilla Wax Works “Candy Corn”, Soap For Your Soul “Jack O’Lantern”
Copper & Kraft “Witches’ Brew” Copper & Kraft is a favorite etsy shop in Flickerboxes and there is a reason why ~ they really make some fantastic scents! Witches’ Brew is very musky and spicy with its cinnamon ~ it is a fantastic scent! It is described as “A spicy, magical blend of freshly ground cinnamon bark complimented with herbal notes of bergamot, cannabis flower, jasmine, and rose; and earthy base notes of sheer musk, black tea, and patchouli” but I cannot smell any florals in this one. Just earthy, warm spicy sexiness! Copper & Kraft is a Syracuse, New York company and they use natural creamy soy wax ~ no dyes ~ lead free cotton wicks, Phthalate free fragrance oils. This comes in a cute tin, that can be reused or recycled. Burn time 55~60 hours 8 oz candle tin RV $11.00
Armadilla Wax Works “Candy Corn” Armadilla is another favorite of Flickerbox and this layered pillar candle has “double fragrance“, meaning that it holds at least twice the fragrance. This has a simple rustic, pebbled finish with 3 waves of colors to mimic Candy Corn ~ cream, yellow and orange. Its scent isn’t the best, imho. It is lightly scented with vanilla and it is sweetly scented, but the candle wax scent is pretty overpowering. It is prettier in person than its scent. This artisan, handcrafted 3 x 3 inch candle will look fantastic at the window for Treat or Treaters! They don’t yet have this on sale at Armadilla Wax Works, which is located in Prescott, AZ. Soap For Your Soul “Jack O’Lantern” Now, this smells fantastic! Back on track with the scents. This is a warm buttery scent (reminds me of popcorn for some reason), with apples and pumpkin. Very lovely, sweet and yummy. This scent was made especially for Flickerbox by Soap For Your Soul, one of my favorite candle brands ~ they have made some really unique and fun scents in the past, such as Peyote Sage & Citrus and Wild Thing, a herbal-green fig candle. Soap for Your Soul is a South Carolinian shop with an etsy presence. Their vegan soy candles are made from non-GMO USA soybeans, and have no additives, colors or dyesThis comes housed in a 16 oz (pint) mason jar that has a zinc-colored metal lid . The eco-wicks are lead free, made from all natural paper and cotton. 16 oz with a burn time of 72 hours RV $16.00
The two very aromatic candles in here from Soap For Your Soul and Copper & Kraft make up for the lackluster scent from Armadilla Wax Works. However, Armadilla’s candle is so festive for the season, that I do not mind that it doesn’t have much of a scent ~ it certainly has presence with its candy corn look! This box’s value is almost $39.00 and I paid $34.00 for my box, as I am on a month to month subscription and I am grandfathered in, so my shipping is included in the price tag. This sub looks expensive, but if you factor in shipping costs for candles, which are heavy, plus that these are artisans, making their eco-friendly candles with their own scents and hand crafted, it is a great deal.
