St Tropica Organic Hot Oil Hair Mask  I received this in a Kloverbox a few months back and I am hooked!  A few years ago, I would have turned up my nose at hair treatments, but even oily hair needs some TLC.  I will repeat my original blog post on this product plus my review. I am so happy to have another one of these ~ as I have chin length hair, these pack will be enough for 2 treatments.  RV $5.00  You can purchase this at St Tropica (click here) and use code STT10 to save 10% off your purchase.

This is a deep conditioning hair mask made with 100% certified USDA organic ingredients such as coconut oil.  It will help repair damaged hair, stimulate hair growth, strengthen dry/damaged hair, lock in moisture to prevent split ends and frizzies, and will result in stronger, thicker hair with shine ~ or so St Tropica claims!  This hair mask has been proven to work with studies here in the USA and in Korea ~ it is free of chemicals, parabens, sulfate, gluten, soy and does not contain additives, stabilizers, preservatives or fragrances ~ which I assume they mean added artificial fragrance.  This is certified cruelty free, no animal testing and is vegan.

You just heat for 20 seconds in the microwave (it is safe) and then wait until it is cool enough to apply to your hair ~ knead the unopened package in your hands until it feels safe.  Apply to your dry hair, massaging the product into your hair and scalp.  Put on a hair cap or towel and leave in your hair for at least 20 minutes ~ best results are overnight.  Rinse and shampoo your hair twice, then condition normally.  If you don’t have a microwave, follow their directions here.

My Review: I wasn’t sure how well suited it would be for my fine, straight and oily hair. This is a deep conditioning hair mask made with 100% certified USDA organic ingredients such as coconut oil.   This is certified cruelty free, no animal testing and is vegan.  This contains biotin, which will happen to strength your hair. I heated up the pack in the microwave for 20 seconds and then applied it very carefully to my dry hair (doesn’t need to be freshly washed, just dry). This smells amazing ~ very coconut, with some tropical florals. I used my scalp brush to comb and massage the oil into my hair and then put on my turbie twist.

I have chin length hair, so I was able to use only 1/2 of the package. I did leave this on overnight (my turbie twist fell off, leaving me with a wonderfully scented and oily pillowcase (into the wash it goes!). I washed my hair twice, making sure to get all of the oil out, used a light conditioner. I did not put any other products in my hair, as I wanted to see how my hair would look after I blew it dry. Well, my hair has VOLUME, BOUNCE and is so silky shiny. And it does feel thicker and fuller to my touch. I usually don’t get that type of bouncy hair unless I put styling products in my hair. The tips of my hair looked healthy and no split ends. This is really a great hot oil treatment.   You can purchase this at St Tropica (click here) and use code STT10 to save 10% off your purchase.

Natural Annie Essentials Happy Edges OHHH, this is really interesting!!  This is a hair growth essential oil blend that contains certified, pure therapeutic grade essential oils in a castor oil base.  This roll on oil is to be used around your hairline and any thinning, itchy or dry patches on your scalp.  It is supposed to help strengthen your hair ~ so if you pull your hair back a lot (I do at home with hairbands), this oil will help reduce breakage.  I think I will use this at night time, as I don’t need oil around my hairline during the day, but this is really fascinating to me.  It only contains 4 ingredients:

Castor Oil is known to help with hair loss and thinning hair, and it can moisturize dry hair, strengthen and thicken your hair. It contains an unsaturated Omega 9 fatty acid ~ ricinoleic acid which helps stimulate hair growth and nourishes your scalp and hair.  It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which will help protect your scalp from hair loss due to infections, heals your scalp and it will not clog your pores ~ it helps remove dirt, dead skin cells and excess oil that clogs up your follicles.

Rosemary Essential Oil  This even has rosemary in the product!  Rosemary contains antioxidant and helps prevent hair loss.  As it also stimulates blood circulation, it will promote hair growth.  It is an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti fungal, so again, it helps prevent infections that can led to hair loss. It also helps reduce excess sebum (oil) production which means your hair follicles won’t get clogged and promotes new hair growth

Cedarwood Essential Oil reduces inflammation and has antibacterial and anti fungal properties. It also has astringent properties, so it helps protect your scalp from toxins and bacteria.

Lavender Essential Oil is a wonder ingredient ~ it helps heal wounds and infections, but it is soothing and mild.  Good for all hair types, it improves blood circulation in your scalp, helps hair growth and prevents hair loss.  It also helps with dry scalp and dandruff.

This has a really nice rosemary and cedarwood scent to it. 10 mL RV $14.00  Save 20% at Natural Annie Essentials with promo code NAEBLISS

Bella Cucina Fresh Basil Pesto Well, I know what I am having for din-din tonight! I love pesto ~ that classic basil, pine nut and olive oil paste with Parmesan cheese.  This version is made with walnuts so this should be a nice change.  Bella Cucina has won the “Outstanding Product Line” at the International Fancy Food Show and I have tried some of their products in the past ~ their lavender-salt is amazing!  I love to use pesto as a dip with chips and toasted pita bread too.  Now, in case you get a jar where the Best By date is unclear, I did check with Herbal Bliss who contacted Bella Cucina. It is very hard to read, but Bella Cucina confirmed that the production date on this batch is May 4, 2016 and it has a shelf life of 2 years, making the Best By date May 4, 2018.  Bella Cucina has changed their batch lot code so it is easier to read, but this jar was pre-change.  Full Size 6 oz RV $14.00

Description: Savor the taste of summer in Tuscany. We use fresh picked basil leaves from the garden and puree into the classic paste so well known throughout the northern parts of Italy. Verdant Pleasures T4 Créme This indie herbal skincare brand uses high quality organic or wild harvested ingredients ~ with purified rainwater!!  This is a very rich cream but after reading the description ~ there is no full ingredient list to be found ~ I believe this is suited for oily skin too.   The back of the label states:

Purified Rainwater, a blend of hydrosols including Tulsi, Calendula and Sandalwood, Tamanu Oil, Hempseed Oil, Kukui Oil, Coconut Oil, Argan Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Mango Butter, Kokum Butter, Raw Honey, Aloe Vera Gel, Vegetable Glycerin,  Rosehip Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Emulsifying Wax NF and a regenerative blend of therapeutic grade essential oils.

Now, based on that, calendula is a fantastic soothing herbal ingredient ~ also known as pot marigold, it has one of the longest histories of usage of any herb in skin care. This is herb (not to be confused with the flower marigold) helps heal chapped and irritated skin. It stimulates wound and burn healing and it helps reduce dermatitits.  Calendula gets much of its healing properties from its high levels of carotenoids, which are  similar to Vitamin A.  Sandalwood is a great astringent, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial ingredient, aloe vera is a hydrating, but not greasy antioxidant moisturizer.  Honey is an anti-bacterial antioxidant that works well for all skin types to help moisturize while healing skin and preventing rashes and blemishes.  The big take away for me were tamanu and hempseed oils  ~ these oils are prefect for oily skin and really help prevent and heal blemishes while controlling excess oil.

This cream is pretty dense, but it is not greasy and applies smoothly onto and into my skin. ~ I feel it is better suited for me as a night time moisturizer.  My skin feels very moisturized and hydrated and it dries down to a satin finish. The scent is very herbal and I can smell the tamanu oil in here ~ it isn’t as pungent as 100% pure tamanu oil, so if you do not like the strong scent of the undiluted oil, you will most likely be okay with this product.  I do love the scent of tamanu oil ~ yeah, I am weird.   I wasn’t sure about this item, but now that I have swatched it and looked up the ingredients, I am pretty excited about it!

Verdant Pleasures also makes some nice items ~ Rose Petal Face Créme, Fine Line Facial Serum and Gentle Face Scrub.  I wish them great luck and fortune with their business and hopefully, Herbal Bliss will be able to showcase another one of their products.  My only complaint is the lack of ingredient information on their products, but I am sure if I emailed them, they would let me know.  Now, this isn’t marked with its size, but I think, as I do own airless pumps like this, this is the 15 mL size.  If it isn’t, please let me know in the comments below! RV $16.00

Description:  An herbal moisturizer – like duct tape, use it to fix everything! It helps regenerate, repair and renew. Only the healthiest and most skin enriching ingredients have been used to create these blends. If organic ingredients are not available, the next purest choices are selected. All ingredients are grown and harvested in a sustainable manner. Most ingredients found in these skin care products are food grade quality. There are no petroleum products, mineral oils or toxic ingredients in these blends. Each batch is lovingly created by hand using only natural preservatives such as Vitamin E and Lecithin. The shelf life of these products is limited to 6 months and can be extended with refrigeration. This month is pretty darn good ~ The facial cream will be saved for night time and when the weather gets cooler.  I am always interested in new shampoos and conditioners, especially made with honey and biotin, and the Happy Edges product is really interesting to me!  St Tropica is an amazing hot oil hair treatment that I highly recommend and pesto sauce is always welcomed in my home ~ sometimes, I will just toast a pita slice and spread some pesto sauce on it for a quick treat.   I paid $17.00  for my box, as I am on a 6 month subscription with one of their promo codes  (you should follow me on IG, as I will post any code when I see them) and received almost a $51.00 value.  I am floored by this month’s value!!  WOW.
