Genie of MaskGenie has been ill recently, but despite that, she has faithfully put together the mask pouches for her customers!  Please stop by her youtube channel and wish her well.

Celranico Snail Hydration Premium Mask Sheet    Snail!!  There are two snail secretion filtrate (slime) masks this month this one from Celrancio is a new brand to me.  I like the clean lines of the packaging as it reminds me of some of the masks from Naruko.   This contains 1000ppm of snail secretion filtrate, which will increase skin elasticity and increase firmness,while helping repair skin from blemishes, reducing acne and working to lighten hyper-pigmentation scarring. L’Affair Honey Mask  The packaging is amazing ~ it has a holographic effect and I love the honey combs and honey bees!   It actually doesn’t contains honey but two products that honey bees produce:  1200mg of royal jelly (full of vitamins and amino acids) and propolis ~ all great for your skin, regardless of skin type!  Royal jelly and propolis all have  moisturizing and anti-bacterial benefits, so it helps dry skin and also oily/blemish prone skin.  This also has beta glucan and hyaluronic acid, two amazing humectants~ they not only keep moisturize in your skin, but attract moisture from the air as well.  RV $1.50

SNP H2O Black Bean Aqua Solution 4-Step Mask  I love Soy products so I am thrilled to have a 4 step solution mask with soybean (black bean).  Soybeans are a potent antioxidant, stimulates the collagen production in your skin for better elasticity, is an anti-inflammatory property and contains polypeptides, which help moisturize your skin. Soybean has a compound called genistein, which has anti-aging benefits.  Each step contains 9800ppm of Soybean seed extracts. Jayjun Cosmetic Rose Blossom Mask  Here is where this month’s pouch starts to fail for me ~ 3 out of the 8 masks all have rose extracts in them, starting with this one.  Rose is a great skin softener, helps soothe irritated skin, reduce swelling and redness, but I am allergic to rose, so it does none of those things for me.   Jayjun is a newer brand that seems to be flooding the market ~ I have their aqua mask and I do enjoy that one.  You can purchase Jayjun masks at Beautibi ~ check out my Savings page for discounts.  RV  $3.00

Jayjun Cosmetic Baby Pure Shining 3-Step Mask   Another Jayjun mask ~ hmm, must be the “It” brand right now.  Anyway, this mask will help soothe, moisturize and supply nutrition to your skin ~ this is a 3 step mask, with an essence that you apply first on your clean skin, facial sheet mask and an eye cream.  The essence has rose in it, so I won’t use that, but I can use the mask and eye cream.  The mask sheet contains fermented ingredients, including soybeans!  That is fantastic news 🙂    RV $3.00

Chaldduk Pomegranate Mask Pack   I was excited to see a mask in here with 1000ppm of fermented pomegraate, as pomegranate extracts are a great anti-oxidant ingredient: Pomegranate has very high levels of vitamin C and it will help promote the production of collagen which helps with dull and dry skin retain luster.  It also has a brightening effect.  Alas, this mask also contains rose water…. After last month’s fantastic pouch and despite that this month has a good variety of masks for those with no allergies, this month was not the best one for me~ not the brands, but it is a personal preference. I am allergic to rose and there were too many masks in this month’s pouch that contained that ingredient.  I haz sad.  I understand that Genie cannot custom tailor the pouches, but I did feel that there was too much rose ingredients in here ~  if this pouch was still 10 masks, I would not have minded as much, but there were only 8 masks, so I can’t use over a 1/3  of this month’s products.  I can use I do like the variety with the masks I can use ~ snail, honey, black bean (yeah ~ happy to see a soy mask in here).  I paid $23.99  for this pouch, which included shipping, and received a retail value of about $16.00. 

Normally, I do not mind a lower price point, as I know that that shipping from Hong Kong is expensive and I can use the masks ~ but this month, I am a very disappointed, because I cannot use 3 out of 8 masks, making this a very low value for me.  The reasoning behind the price increase and the decrease in masks were to provide us with more high end masks, but I am not seeing that happening at all.  I would hate to drop MaskGenie, but the subscription needs to up its game here by providing what was promised with the price hike and the decreased mask amount earlier this year.  Last month was a perfect month and this month really was not that good a value for me.  It could be because Genie is not well right now and she is not able to pick out masks of value at this time ~ and I do know that MaskGenie curates pouches that I can use more often than I cannot, so I will just chalk it up to my damn allergies and put these masks in a giveaway or something
