Unboxing September 2016 The 3B Box!

The 3B Box has really improved quite a bit over the last several months and I am happy to stay sub’d to it.  I know there are other Asian B-Boxes out there, and I have tried them, but I find that I get so overwhelmed with the full sized products thta many of them offer ~ not to mention, I want a discovery service, not to replenish my stash of skincare and makeup.  I want to try out new products in deluxe sizes, so that I can determine if I want to purchase the full size.  The 3B Box has been better about adding new products in their boxes, so I am very happy about that.  I do like that The 3B Box is really affordable. What is 3B (Beauty Beyond Borders)?  It is an Asian sample monthly subscription box and is very affordable at $12.00/monthly.  It is similar to ipsy and Birchbox, where you get 4 to 5 deluxe samples (and sometimes a full sized item!)

More about 3B’s monthly service:

Each box contains a collection of deluxe samples that are new or popular in Asia but hard to get your hands on. The products will change each month, and you’ll get to try new skincare, haircare, nailcare, and cosmetic products. Sample products range from go-to brands such as Lioele, Etude House and Skinfood to high-end premium brands like SK-II, Kanebo, and Sulwhasoo. Don’t worry about not being able to read Japanese or Korean – we’ve got you covered with English translations of descriptions in each box. (https://the3bbox.com/the-box/)

Informational Card

I REALLY like what they have done here with the info card ~ two of the items in this box’s box are honey products, so they highlighted that ingredient and did a few bullet points about honey skincare benefits.   Plus the photo looks wonderful! I want to buy a honeycomb right now and spread some on toast!

Welcos 98% Aloe Vera Moisture Real Soothing Gel   The 3B will give us a full sized item as well ~ sometimes a facial sheet mask, lipstick, mascara or in this case, a nice full tube of aloe vera gel moisturizer.  I actually went thru a period where I had TOO many tubes of aloe vera, thanks to Memebox Global including it in about every other box, but I have depleted my stash of aloe since those days ~ either thru use, gifting or giveways, I don’t have that many tubes of aloe vera.  I am glad to see this in my box this month, because even though summer is winding down, it is still hot outside and aloe vera isn’t just for the summer time either.  When the weather gets cooler, the harsh winds can chap your skin and aloe is a nice soothing product to put on my face, without being greasy.   This is made with certified organic ingredients, with 98% of aloe vera and can be used for your moisturizing and soothing your skin, DIY facial mask pack to soothe or reduce pores, makeup remover, hair pack to add moisture back to dry, brittle hair and just about anywhere you want to add moisture!   This is a nice weight gel, that smells great ~ very fresh aloe/cucumber scent (no cucumber in here however) and absorbs quickly without a tacky residue.  Full Size 100 mL RV $2.00

Ingredients: water, glycerin, dipropylene glycol, polysorbate 20, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, triethanolamine,  carbomer, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, allantoin, betaine, butylene glycol,  althaea rosea root extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, ethylhexylglycerin, disodium EDTA,  phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin, fragrance  cosDNA analysis

Heimish All Clean Balm  This is a new brand for  me! This is an oil balm cleanser that you apply on your dry face and massage in to remove makeup and dirt. Add water for it to emulsify, massage a bit more and then rinse off.  Banila Clean It Zero was the first oil balm cleanser that I used and I think they might have started the trend ~ or at least made it popular.  This has a nice herbal scent to it ~ when I first took a sniff, it smelled more medicinal and bitter, but once I applied it on my skin, it became a warm, earthy herbal scent.

The texture is very smooth and not crumbly like some balms, and it is made with coconut oil, shea butter and donkey oil/milk ~ no mineral oils here ~ and that probably is why it is so soft and silky.  This does have jasmine and rose extracts, but they are far down on the list and I don’t smell any floral scents with this product at all.  This is free from artificial scents, coloring and parabens. This is a nice sized sample too ~ 7 mL  RV $1.50

Description: This cleanser will go on your skin in solid form and will convert into oil on your skin upon massaging. This sherbet style cleansing balm will dissolve even the heaviest makeup, while leaving your skin moist. This oil-based cleanser contains an impressive list of natural botanical ingredients.  Key ingredients and benefits include:
• Shea Butter – It is rich in antioxidants and is known for its moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and skin smoothing properties. Naturally rich in vitamins, it provides the skin with essential fatty acids and the nutrients necessary for collagen production.
• Donkey Milk – Moisturizing and skin brightening properties.
• Coconut Extract – Helps soften and balance skin.
• Variety of Botanical Extracts and Oils – with skin soothing, calming and balancing properties.

Ingredients:  Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Polyethylene, PEG-8 Isostearate, Shea Butter, Donkey Milk, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Fruit Extract, Freesia Refracta (Freesia) Extract, Iris Versicolor (Blueflag Iris) Extract, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Extract, Lilium Tigrinum (Asian Lily) Extract, Leontopodium Alpinum (Edelweiss) Extract, Nelumbium Speciosum (Lotus Flower) Extract, Narcissus Flower Extract, Rose Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Lavender Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Extract, Amyris Balsamifera Bark Oil, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Tea Tree Leaf Oil, Juniperus Mexicana Oil, Frankincense (Boswellia Carterii) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, 1,2-Hexanediol  cosDNA analysis

Skin79 Super Beblesh BB Cream [Pink]  Well, this is actually a very familiar product for me ~ this is actually the first BB cream I tried years ago, back in 2012, and I truly disliked it ~ it was thick, greasy and grayish looking, despite being the BB cream for pore and oily skin care.  However, since that time,  Skin79 has changed the formula, so I might give this a try ~ it is a small sample, so if I don’t like it, that is okay if I toss it.  It does have rose water in it, so I will test patch this first.  This has SPF 30 PA++, so it does provide some protection from the UV rays, and it claims it will help brighten your skin due to the niacinamide, adenosine and arbutin ingredients, while protecting it from wrinkles. Skin79 BB creams are very popular, however, and Skin79 really, in my opinion, started the BB craze here in the Western world as they came out with several versions of their Beblesh creams and it is very affordable.  Sample Size 7 g RV $2.10

Description: All New Upgraded Skin79 Hot Pink with SPF30. New high technical skill minimizes darkening, maintain the clean skin without darkening after makeup all day long. Help to improve UV protection (improved to Spf30 PA++ / old version: Spf25 PA++), whitening & wrinkle improvement to care smooth and radiant skin.

It is a triple functional beblesh balm, which presents natural skin texture with light application and powdery skin with Matte Finish Melting Formula. Bromelin, cares excessive sebum to prevent greasiness and darkening and Sepicalm S helps soothes tired and stressed skin from the external stimulus. Ecocert ingredient, Pink Blooming complex and Acerola Extract formulated Vitamin C provide tone-up effect to dark and dull skin for presenting a bright and clean skin complexion.

Etude House Honey Cera Cream   This is a fairly new line from Etude House ~ it came out late 2015 ~ and it is made with 99.5 ppm honey and ceramides, so you know it will be very moisturizing.  This is an anti-aging skincare line that helps nourish and firm your skin, while helping your skins elasticity.  This also has royal jelly, full of vitamins, minerals and amino acids, that will help tone and firm your skin as well.  This contains “Immortelle” flower (Helichrysum Italicum), which is actually an ingredient that L’Occitane uses quite a bit in several of their lines ~ it is also called the everlasting flower, as it doesn’t fade after it has been picked.  This is a very thick cream, very moisturizing and it does have a fairly strong floral-honey scent.  I think this is best used for me in the winter-time as a night moisturizer.  Or a hand cream.  It might be too much for my oily skin type.  Sample Size 10 mL  RV $3.00

Description:  A nourishing and firming cream that provides dry skin with abundant nutrition and radiance.

Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Dimethicone, Jojoba Esters, Diisostearyl Malate, Trehalose, Phytosteryl/Behenyl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Honey Extract (99.5ppm), Ceramide 3, Royal Jelly, Helichrysum Italicum Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Palmitic Acid, Adenosine, Stearic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Alcohol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Xanthan Gum, Polyisobutene, PEG-100 Stearate, PEG-40 Stearate, Acrylates/Stearyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Polyacrylate-13, Dextrin, Polysorbate 20, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Yellow 6 (CI 15985), Fragrance  cosDNA analysis

Etude House Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum This product must be pretty popular because it is sold out at a lot of online shops ~ I did find it in stock at YesStyle.  The full size has a metal tip that helps cool and depuff your under-eye area, while applying this serum. However, this is just the sample, so no metal tip.  It is much lighter in weight, thankfully, than the cream and actually will dry down to a matte finish if I gently pat it into my skin ~ the photo above doesn’t reflect that, as I had just massaged it on my skin.  It has the same floral-honey scent, but not as strong.  I do love trying out new eye cream products, so this will be used.  This has niacinamide, which will help with brightening up your dark under-eye circles and it also has honey (99.5ppm), royal jelly and ceramides, just like the cream.  Sample Size 5 mL  RV $5.00

Description: A priming Eye Serum that enhances dark circles under the eyes with its whitening function for a smooth and brightened eye area.

Ingredients:  Water, Butylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Cyclohexasiloxane, Honey Extract, Ceramide 3, Royal Jelly, Helichrysum Italicum Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Adenosine, Glyceryl Stearate, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Stearic Acid, Silica, Acrylates/Stearyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan Gum, Polyglyceryl- 3 Methylglucose Distearate, Polysilicone-11, PEG-100 Stearate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance cosDNA analysis

I am really happy with my 3B box this month ~ a new brand to try, a new series with honey in it, a nice sized tube of aloe vera gel and the reformulated BB cream from Skin79.   This month has a honey theme with the two Etude House items, but I view this as a transitional theme ~ from summer to autumn, as you have a very moisturizing product with honey, but a light, cooling product with aloe vera.   I feel this is a solid box ~ I paid $12.00 for this and received a RV of almost $14.00, which I am happy with as I will use all of the products.

Did you receive The 3B box this month?  What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I’ve not heard of an oil balm. Now I’m curious! I might have to try either the Banila Clean It Zero or the Heimish All Clean Balm.
The Skin79 BB cream used to be my favourite but that was in the early days of BB creams. I’ve since found a much more natural looking one – from Charmzone, it doesn’t apply thick looking or mask-like.
Great box, I love honey stuff too.
