Unboxing July 2016 Julep + Promo!

I am a sucker for matte nailpolish and lippies so when I saw the color choices for July’s Julep Maven Box, I did purchase it.  I usually only purchase Julep a few times a year ~ I do like that they allow me to skip months that I do not want and make it really easy to do so online.

I personalized my box as I only wanted the matte nailpolish and I wanted 2 lipsticks.

Lip Shade Sheer Lip Butter in Plumeria and Currant.  I have to say, the packaging on these lippies are outstanding ~ an oil slick like finish to the rectangular cases, which reminds me of Urban Decay packaging.  The case snaps shut with a satisfying snap, as they are magnetic.   These look really bright and dark, but they are ~ they are sheer lip butters and they smell like vanilla! Plumeria is a brighter berry and Currant is a darker purple berry, both in the same family, but I like to think of one for the spring/summer (Plumeria) and Currant for fall/winter.  These go on smooth, soft and just are really nice.  These also have SPF30 protection.  I think I will go back and purchase the Poppy and Crimson when they are available for sale.   RV $17.60 each

Description: A luxuriously silky lip butter that glides on weightlessly to deliver a sheer wash of color plus the ultimate SPF 30 Broad Spectrum protection from harmful UVA/UVB rays. Crafted with a nourishing blend of moisturizing butters and natural oils, Lip Shade gives you the color you want and the protection you need.  Shea butter soothes and strengthens dry, chapped lips. Broccoli seed oil forms a protective layer that locks in moisture. Rosehip seed oil helps stimulate cell turnover and keeps lips smooth. Black currant seed oil nourishes and softens lips from the inside out.  Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Use a water resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating. Reapply at least every 2 hours.

Fleur “Evening bloom matte glitter” Nail Polish This is really pretty ~ this matte shade has a black base, that can be sheer or built up ~ the swatch I made is two coats.  It has aqua-blue and golden round and hex shaped glitters, but it is not that flashy, due to the matte finish.  I couldn’t seem to get a nice photo, so I also included Julep’s photo as you can really see the beauty of this matte finish.  I love matte nailpolishes because they are SO forgiving ~ I make a ton of mistakes and matte finishes really don’t show the defects that a shiny glossy finish would.  RV $14.00
