Jolse, a premium online Korean Cosmetic store,  kindly sent me both the foot peeling booties for review purposes and I thank them for their generosity. Since my feet are still peeling ~ my feet are tough, it takes over 2 weeks for foot peels to finish their magic ~ I thought I would give you a review on the foot scrub now ~ next weekend ~ I should have my foot peeling review complete!

Ahh Lime & Mint

  • Pumice is a volcanic ash and whereas it is abrasive, it is very soft and it is the softest abrasive ingredient that is used in skincare.  It is used as a mild and gentle exfoliator and is being used more frequently in skin and body care products since the ban of microbeads in 2015.
  • Citrus aurantifolia (lime) has two different types of uses outside of food and beverage preparation.  This product smells mainly of lime, so it is used as aromatherapy ~ and lime has that refreshing scent that improves your mood and makes you more cheerful.  I know that I when I smelled this scrub, I was immediately happy!  For skin care, it can act as an astringent, helping to clean and tone your skin and it improves your circulation.
  • Glycerin, honey and sucrose are all highly moisturizing ingredients and honey is also an antibacterial product, to help prevent infections and helps speed up wound healing. .
  • Triple mint ~  0.68% of applemint leaf extract, 0.66% of  both peppermint and spearmint leaf extract to help cool, refresh and deodorize your feet.

Performance

Wow this smells like lime ~ and with a hint of mint.  The primary scent is lime, however, and that is fine by me  ~ I love citrus scented products.   This is a thick gel scrub and there are lots of scrubby bits in this product ~ in fact, this has to be one of the more scrubber skincare items that I have tried from South Korean brands!  Usually, Korean companies err on the side of really soft scrubs, which I am not really looking for when I want to exfoliate my body ~ or in this case, my feet!  You can see all of the bits of pumice suspended in the thick gel and there is a lot of pumice in this product

This scrub is so thick it won’t run or drip  off your feet ~ look how it just sits on my hand even when I held it up vertically.

Now I have tried other foot scrubs by other Korean brands and they were not as scrubby as this one ~ but they also didn’t do this:

FOAM!!  This is a foaming scrub for your feet

This not only scrubs really well, but has a lovely foam later to help deep clean your feet, while exfoliating.    Since this product has glycerin, honey and sucrose in it, it is also moisturizing ~ my feet are not dry as sand after I rinse them off.   This scrub really helps remove the dead skin that is flaking off my feet due to the foot peeling socks that I used recently and my feet are really soft, smooth and clean.     Due to the mint in this product, this is also a very refreshing foot scrub ~ my feet feel tingly cool and this scrub is now on my purchase list for the summertime.

Ingredients: water, pumice, sodium laureth sulfate, lauryl betaine, acrylates copolymer, glycerin, sodium chloride, mentha rotundifolia leaf extract (0.68%), mentha piperita (peppermint) leaf extract (0.66%),  mentha viridis (spearmint) leaf extract (0.66%), acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, carbonated water (0.5%), sodium hydroxide, citrus aurantifolia (lime) fruit extract, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, disodium EDTA, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, honey extract, portulaca oleracea extract, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) extract, citrus limon (lemon) peel oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, citrus grandis (grapefruit) peel oil, eucalyptus globulus leaf oil, sucrose, ethylhexylglycerin, phenoxyethanol, fragrance cosDNA.com analysis

Final Thoughts

It’s just a foot scrub, right?  Nope…Look, I can make my own sugar and salt scrubs, but this one has pumice, mints, witch hazel, glycerin, honey, lime and other great ingredients, plus it foams.  This is one of the better foot scrubs I have used ~ it doesn’t melt on you when you are scrubbing away ~ sugar and salt scrubs have a tendency to do that ~ so you can really work the lather and scrubbing on your feet to remove all of the dead skin, smooth callouses and rough spots on your feet.   I love the scent ~ it is sparkling and fresh ~ and the cooling sensation on my feet as I use this scrub is fantastic.   My ONLY complaint is that the tube is too small!!  I know, it is a standard 100 mL tube for Korean foot scrubs, but because I love this so much, I wish it came in a 300 mL tub.

I totally love this scrub and highly recommend this.  I now want to try the foot mist and deodorant!  Are you interested in trying this line or have you already used it?  What did you think of it ~ I would love to know!  I think this scrub is so much better than Tonymoly’s famous foot scrub.

You can purchase Skinfood Mint Sparkling Foot Scrub at Jolse for $9.33 USD for a 100 mL tube (which is TOO small)   Jolse also carries most of the Skinfood Mint Sparkling line as well (click here).  Jolse ships worldwide, has free shipping and always includes free samples!

  1. Thank you for listing the ingredients in English too. It’s really important to me that a scrub doesn’t contain any plastic microbeads and this one doesn’t! Hurray! 🙂 I’ve NEVER seen a scrub that actually contains pumice bits? I bet it’s super effective! You’ve convinced me to add this to my cart… haha. I’m thinking of trying my first COSRX item – what would you recommend?

    1. What type of skin do you have? I have oily skin, but with aging concerns. I really enjoyed the following products from cosRx – AHA/BHA Clarifying Toner, Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence and Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Facial Cream, as well as the Oil-Free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion with Birch Sap . Reviews for the 1st items are here http://wp.me/p3OLOa-26E and for the Oil-Free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion with Birch Sap – here http://wp.me/p3OLOa-38E
