The May 2016 theme is “Let’s Get Together” and is about entertaining! There was no spoiler items other than the theme.
Party Tasting Spoon Set by Houseware Internationals This is really nice! It is a 6 piece set ~ 5 spoons and a 10 inch square plate with rounded edges ~ all made in white ceramic. You can put items in the spoons for your guests or let them fill them up by themselves! These would be great if you make Xiao Long Bao, aka soup dumplings (see recipe here) and then put a bamboo steamer on the plate with the dumplings. Your guests place them on the spoon and use a chopstick to poke a hole in the dumpling ~ allowing the broth to spill out into the spoon. It is lots of fun and tasty too!

I couldn’t find the exact model, but based on what I did find, the retail value looks to be around $13.00
Set of 20 Paper Party Straws by Formation Brands This was my surprise item in the box and it is really fun! These biodegradable and compostable straws have 4 designs ~ different colored chevrons on the straw and then a cute little “sign” on the straw ~ “Liquid Therapy”, “Sip Back and Relax”, “Drinks well with Others” and “It’s five o’clock somewhere”. These are nice because when you have a party, these will help your guests find their drink if they set it down somewhere because the straw makes it more personalized. Straws are 9 1/2 ” H x 6 3/4 ” W x 1 ” D RV $12.99
Melamine Cutting Board by Kitchen by Tchibo This is too nice to be a cutting board! I love the teal and white pattern with a yellow border ~ I think I will use this as a serving tray instead. Melamine is durable and hygienic and is supposed to be resistant to scratches. Tchibo is made in China, but wow, it seems to be a popular brand in Germany! The board measures 9 3/8 ” x 6 1/2 ” RV $6.00
Charades-in-a-Box Celebrity Edition This is a fun game for all ages (yeah, I know it says 14 and up, but you can help younger children!) and not only does this come with the cards, but a hourglass timer, pencil and score pad. Very nice and you don’t need a party to play this game ~ a rainy afternoon will do. This edition features nothing but celebrities for you and your guests to act out. RV $5.99
Cocktail Napkins by IMproper Greetings These are cute! I love it when there is an old timey type movie still photo with a funny saying that you know wasn’t used in that movie! In this case, these napkins have the saying “There’s only one way to approach this kind of little social exercise. Hydrated.” The napkins go GREAT with the party straws! These are 3-ply napkins, made in the USA ~ there are 20 of them, measuring 5″ x 5″ RV $8.58
Next up is a trio of party decorations from K&Company
Chalkboard Party Arrow Kit This party decoration is for helping your guests find their way around ~ it has twelve 5 x 12 inch chalkboard cardstock arrows, a rub-on transfer sheet, with words like “bathroom”, “wedding”, “this way” and a little wooden stick to transfer the words to the arrows. However, you can also personalize the arrows yourself, as you can write on them with chalk (not included). This is a really good idea for parties that span across a huge area ~ perhaps a wedding, reception, graduation or even a beach party. The one sold at Amazon does not have the rub on transfer sheet, so please keep that in mind if you want to purchase this. RV $8.00
Chalkboard Pennant Kit This contains twelve 11 1/4 x 7 inch pennants, one side that is decorated and the other side is black, so you can write on it with chalk, twelve 4 7/8 inch circles that can also be written on with chalk and 10 feet of black & white twine, to hang up your pennants! This is great for birthdays. RV $11.56
Paper Medallions Kit This is a 16 piece set that will make 6 paper medallions ~ 1 large, 2 medium and 3 small medallions ~ all in different multi-colored paper. This kit is more time consuming than the other two ~ lots of folding and gluing! Looking at the final product on the photo, they look much more pretty and festive than just by looking at the paper ~ when it is all completed, it really comes together with the colors. RV $7.00
Just like last month, there is a coupon for $35.00 off a Fresh Box, which is not part of the box contents. There is also a promo code for DazzleBomb, which makes bath products ~ take 25% off using coupon code PEACHES at their online store.
I think that Peaches & Petals did a fantastic job this month ~ lots of items ~ so much so, that it came in a HUGE box this month. I love the tasting spoon set, the straws and napkins will be used quickly and the decorations are really nice for this time of the year ~ lots of parties going on ~ graduation, weddings, summer picnics, birthdays. I love the cutting board just because the colors are so bright & cheery and who doesn’t love making a fool of themselves playing charades? Good times 😀 Peaches & Petals monthly subscription boxes are $19.99 a month and that includes shipping. This month, the box looks to be of a retail value of over $73.00, which is outstanding! Many thanks to Miranda for sending me this box to review.
