Unboxing November 2015 MaskGenie!

Yeah, November’s MaskGenie is here and I had no idea what would be in it, as Genie’s unboxing hasn’t even been loaded yet on YouTube.

MaskGenie is a monthly subscription of masks ~ facial sheet mask, body masks, wash off masks and hair masks.  The owner lives in Hong Kong and she (Genie) tries out the masks and determines which ones she feels are worthy for her customers to try.   Shipping is extremely fast ~ within a week, I get my pouch.  You can order the 10 mask pouch for $23.50 or the 5 mask pouch for $13.50 and that includes shipping and she just doesn’t ship to the USA ~ MaskGenie ships all over the world.

One of the things I really appreciate from Genie is that she does an unboxing video once she sends out the pouches.   It is really great that she cares about her customers to provide this extra service and she explains a bit about the mask, why she choose it, where it is from and so on.

Morii Sakura & Love or Derma Skincare Super Triple Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mask   (Taiwan) Most confusing mask ever!  I thought the previous mask was painful to figure out,  this one is worse.   Okay, from what I can glean, this contains three combinations of hyaluronic acid, hyaluronic acid peptides and hyaluronic acid hydroylsis and contains organic cogon grass extracts (France ECO-CERT and NATRUE organic double certification) , which are an anti-irritant, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-bacteria.   It helps  to energize and revitalize and helps prevent freckles and wrinkles by improving blood circulation.  Okay, seriously, this is what I found out.  Is it true?  Who knows…  This also contains collagen, which is moisturizing and nourishing, helps repair your skin and increases the tissue elasticity of your skin.

I had a hell of time with the ingredients ~ the back of the mask package doesn’t fully translate the ingredients list and was confusing to boot (dew grass, what is dew grass??  answer: cogon grass – sigh).   I found a photo of the back of the box that contained these masks, and the list was slightly different and reordered.   So, basically, the ingredient list below was taken from the mask box.  The mask box ingredient list was in English for some of the items and Chinese for others ~ the first 4 ingredients were listed in Chinese ~ and should be taken with a ‘general’ feel for the product ingredients.   RV $1.90

Ingredients: sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid peptide, small molecule hyaluonic acid, collagen organic cogon grass extracts,  DI Water, EDTA, hydroxyethycellulose, glycerin, butylene glycol, allantoin, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate & water, water & soluble collagen, caprylyl glycol & ethylhexylglycerin, methylisothiazolinone & water, fragrance, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG-16 macadamia glycerides

Gimmie MOAR Taiwanese masks!  I am thrilled to see more and to have a Naruko mask is pretty cool.  Lots of moisturizing masks made from milk, hyaluronic acid and then brightening masks, from charcoal to lemon and of course, I am happy to have another Kuan Yuan Lian mask to try.  Great month ~ it did take me longer to research these masks, as the more Genie branches out to Taiwan brands, the harder it gets ~ but I am fine with that.  I honestly think that Taiwanese masks are better than Korean, overall.  Not to say I don’t like Korean masks, I just haven’t met a Taiwanese mask yet that I didn’t really like.    I paid $23.50 for this pouch, which included shipping, and received a retail value of around $18.95.   A lot of these masks I would not have know to try without this service and in some cases, are very hard to come by in the USA and outside of Asian countries.

If you are interested in MaskGenie,  just go to her online store at www.skinilove.com  and you can place your order that way, which would be month by month OR if you think you want this to be a reoccurring subscription, email Genie at her FB page at and let her know to invoice you monthly.

Do you get this month’s pouch from MaskGenie?  What are you looking forward to trying out?

    1. yes, I have had mask maven (see my reviews here on it) but I prefer Mask Genie as she personally tries the masks herself and curates the box with both popular masks in the western world as well as masks that are popular in Asian countries (but are unknown here) and may not know they exist. I find that the cost of this sub more than makes up for it! Two of my favorite brands, Lovemore and Sister Diary ~ I would have never known about these masks without this sub. Lovemore became uber popular among kbeauty fans after she curated a bag with them.

Mask Maven is fine sub for traditional, popular brands, but I just like to branch out 😀 I think considering what I receive in MaskGenie, it is a great deal. I couldn’t get some of these masks with this price without paying for huge shipping costs.

  1. Looks like a good pouch. I keep forgetting to order this since she stopped doing the spoilers and videos, then by the time I remember I’ve spent the money elsewhere. I should really do the direct debit thing so I don’t forget! xx

    1. Hi Charlotte!! I haven’t seen you in a while! Are you still blogging? She doesn’t do direct debiting, but I have asked her to send me the invoice monthly. I wish she would do the direct paypal withdrawal each month. Check out her site now – she has 15% all of her pouches, including december’s!
