InstaReview cosRX Make Me Lovely Cream & A’Pieu Doraemon Palette

I am going to do a quick review and impressions on two makeup products that were recently released ~ cosRX Make Me Lovely Cream and A’Pieu Doraemon Limited Edition Eye Shadow Palette in No 1 My Daily.

cosRX Make Me Lovely Cream

So, what is cosRX new horribly named product “Make Me Lovely” all about?  I was interested in this item, as a) I am sucker for cosRX and b) I never tried any of their makeup before.  I didn’t even know they made makeup ~ this looks to be a new product line for them, because outside of a couple of BB creams, this is it.

This is a brand, spanking new product and there wasn’t much as far as reviews went for it.  So, when Memebox decided to carry it (amazing, as Memebox hasn’t been on the cutting edge of new product releases before), I decided to pick this one up and see what it was all about.  Hopefully, I can discover if it is a BB cream or a CC cream.

The packaging is really nice and was designed by Triangle Studio, in Seoul, South Korea.  This design company also did the Ciracle From Jeju mask packaging as well.   The side of the package states this product is a “versatile BB cream that looks naturally radiant, dewy and glowing coverage in one“.   Hmm, okay.

Images from Triangle Studios ~ they are so much more artsy than I am (plus they have more tubes and boxes to play with!)

The first thing I notice when I squeeze the product out of the tube is that it is a pink beige.  It is so light that I am thinking ~ well, back it goes to Memebox ~ but then I started to blend it into my skin.  The color bascially disappeared and  what was left was a tad brighter skin tone, a tad more even in color.  Just a tad(pole).  Ah HA!! This *seems* to be a CC cream to me~  I would not consider it to be a BB cream, as the color absorbs quickly into my skin, and it doesn’t leave it pink.  I am thankful for because that light pink beige color is so not appropriate for my skin tone and probably isn’t for many people either.  A CC cream is a color corrector and can be used with a BB cream or foundation of your choice.

You are supposed to put a CC cream on after all of your skin care and before your foundation and makeup.  I do find this strange that cosRX is marketing this as a BB cream, as I have never used a BB cream that worked like this before ~ but I have used CC creams that have the same type of effect on my skin.  I do not find this to be very dewy, but it is moisturizing.  My skin was not shiny or greasy with this cream, which is another reason why I think it is a CC cream ~ they are more light weight in texture and coverage.    I like the scent of this product too ~ it has a light herbaceous scent with a touch of lavender, which brings me to my next point.  The first ingredient is lavender water.  It also has lavender oil as well, so if you have issues with lavender, steer clear of this product.   Make Me Lovely Cream does contain niacinamide which will help brighten and even your skin tone over time.   This also has sunscreen ingredients ~ titanium dioxide and zinc oxide ~ but I do not know the SPF of this product.  It cannot be that high, otherwise, cosRX would have advertised it.  BTW ~ ignore the ingredient list that Memebox has listed at their site.  My list comes from the box directly and I even double checked it at the cosRX Korean website.

Because I really liked the delicate brightening effect as well as it toned down some of my yellow ruddiness (there is no other way to describe it), I applied this around my cheekbones and the side of my face.  I thought it really did brighten up my face nicely.   Would I repurchase?  It is one of the few CC creams that I actually see the brightening effect before my eyes, without a white cast.  I love the texture, it is smooth, lightweight and applies without any cakeness.  I also love the scent of it as well ~ I kept sniffing my hand where I swatched it as it is such a nice light scent.  So, yes, I would repurchase this product!  You can purchase it at Memebox for $19.00 for a 50 mL tube.

A’Pieu Doraemon Full of Color Eyes “My Daily” Eye Shadow Palette

Seriously, I had to get this. Doraemon is a Japanese cartoon character ~ he is a robot cat (without ears) from the future, who came back in time to help a young boy.  Doraemon has been around a long time, since the late 1960’s and is extremely popular in Japan ~ think of it this way ~ he is to the Japanese as Micky Mouse is to Americans.  A’Pieu makes this palette in another version called No 2 Mono Best, but I chose No 1 My Daily.

This 8 shade palette is typical of Korean eye shadows ~ made up of primarily glitters and shimmers, with two matte shades tossed in, these range from being lightly pigmented to a good pigmentation.  I do recommend wearing an eye shadow primer, especially if you are going to wear the lighter colors.  The lighter glitters do experience some fall out and need several “coats” to get some type of intensity.  The darker shades, starting with the matte shade, are very intense in their pigmentation and after wearing the darker shades for over 8 hours today, I did not experience any creasing or major fading from the shadows.

I wish they would have replaced the lightest shimmer shade on the end of the palette with a matte shade, as I am not going to use a light shimmer shade as an all-over eye lid color.  I have to use my Mac Brule, which means I cannot just “use” this palette without supplementing it with another product.  The lighter shades are also pretty soft as well, so be careful not to dig in your brush ~ speaking of brushes, don’t use the one that comes with the palette. It is a useless double foam applicator.

Starting from the left: Vanilla Shimmer with fine micro glitter :: Peach Shimmer :: Light Rose Gold Shimmer with fine micro glitter  ::  Matte light red-brown shade :: Vibrant Rose Shimmer :: Burgundy Shimmer  :: Matte Dark Cocoa Brown  :: Deep Brown Shimmer with gold fine micro glitter

Top Palette is My Daily, Bottom Palette is Mono Best.  I do think that A’Pieu did a good job with the photo here as it does represent the shades pretty well in RL ~ at least for My Daily.

I purchased my palette from testerkorea for about $16.00 USD.  Both palettes are both in stock at the time I wrote this blog post 🙂  Obviously I won’t purchase it again ~ this is a limited edition and once it is sold out, it is gone.  I am glad I purchased this, just to get the cute Doraemon!

Are you interested in trying out either the cosRX Make Me Lovely cream or picking up one of the A’Pieu Doraemon palettes?  What do you think of the shades and colors of these items?  I would love to hear your thoughts, so please let me know in the comments below 😀
