Memebox K-Pop Inspired Eye Makeup Value Set Unboxing!

As a VIP member at Memebox, which just means I spend more money at their store than I should, I may get exclusives that are released early to VIP members ~ and in a few days, it is released to everyone else.   Memebox finally started up the VIP exclusives the other week and I did purchase a couple of them ~ Chica Y Chico Value Set, which I will be reviewing soon (and I have really high hopes for this skin care line for blemishes) and the one I am unboxing for you now ~ XO VIP Exclusive K-Pop Inspired Eye Makeup with free eyeshadow case

I have a whole section in my blog,  devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.  If you are new to Memebox, you use my referral link here and get 20% off your first order of $25.00 or more!

This makeup value set includes the following items:

  • I’m Eyeshadow #PG304 Blondie Brown
  • I’m Eyeshadow #PS305 Sparkling Hazel
  • I’m Eyeshadow #PB306 Brown Brick
  • I’m Eyeshadow #PG301 Shine Deep Brown
  • I’m Eyeshadow Point Brush #B009
  • I’m Blending Brush #B010
  • FREE Eyeshadow Case

I received two blending brushes, but I emailed Memebox and my reader’s favorite CS rep, Jeremy, responded quickly and I will be getting my point brush soon 😀  I do love blending brushes, but I was hoping for that point brush!

I’m Blending Brush #B010 These brushes are very soft and are great at blending your shadows together (hence the name).  I also put aside a blending brush for face powder ~ if I have a blemish or mark I need to cover up, I dab on my concealer or foundation and then take my blending brush and put a little extra face powder on that area, buffing it out.  I love a matte finish to my face, so this helps me achieve that goal!  These look to be a new version of Memebox original blending brush and I am not sure if the new ones are on sale yet.  RV $11.00

I’m Eye Shadow Case  This will allow me to “decant” my individual shadows into a nice palette.  I need to do this, but I should be more alert than I am right now (and need to get some double-sided tape).  Memebox thoughtfully gave us instructions on their site on how to do this, as I couldn’t figure it out!!  This is a slim palette, nice and sturdy, in black with a mirror.   They do not sell these individually right now at Memebox, so if you want them, you will have to purchase a value set to receive it.  RV $6.00

The quartet of beauties!  I love the pattern in the shadow ~ it reminds me of the Arts & Crafts Movement with the simple geometric lines.  Very nice.  Each shadow comes in its own case, which has a mirror.  The cases are sturdy and slim. Each shadow is 1.4 grams of product.   The eye shadows retail normally at $12.00 apiece, but currently Memebox has them 50% off their RV price, so you can pick up quite a few of them now for only $6.00 each.

Description for I’m Eye Shadow

Formulated in Seoul, XO Memebox is our in-house cosmetics line featuring the hottest Korean beauty trends. Taking inspirations from iconic looks spotted on Korean celebrities and all over the streets of Seoul, we design products that add a sweet and playful touch to any makeup look.  These eye shadows go on buttery smooth, saturating the eyes with rich pigmentation that lasts all day.  Matte, Shimmer, and Glitter; 35 gorgeous colors to fit every mood.   Super pigmented; Pro Fix formula locks the color in place.  Long-lasting; Sebum Control Powder acts as a primer that prevents oil build up and creasing.  Silky smooth, blendable; Oil Binder System allows even application and minimizes fall outs

#PG301 Shine Deep Brown is a deep, bittersweet chocolate brown, no red tones here.  It has gold sparkles, but it is not a glitter bomb ~ the sparkles are very subdued.  I am not sure why they called this a glitter shadow, as it seems to more of a shimmer shadow to me.  This is a very wearable shade.  RV $12.00

#PB306 Brown Brick is a matte cocoa powder-color brown ~ it has some red tones to it, but it is such a pretty matte shade.  RV $12.00

#PS305 Sparkling Hazel is described as pink burgundy shimmer (rose gold), but I am seeing it more as a pink/peach gold shade.  I see a lot of peachy colors in this one.  It is really pretty and unique.  RV $12.00

#PG304 Blondie Brown  is a beige-gold glitter bomb.  This shade did have the most fall out of the 4, as it is truly a glitter shadow.  You can use it as a highlighter on your eyes and inner corners, and also on your face. RV $12.00

The above swatches were with one swipe of my finger, so you can see how pigmented they are.  They went on smoothly and I still have them on my hand, wearing nicely after a couple of hours!  So, I would say they are pretty long lasting too. I have used them on my eyes as well, and this is such a pretty palette and the colors go so well together.   The Shine Deep Brown is very subtle in its shimmer, Brown Brick is so on point for this fall ~ it is a Marsala color, which is Pantone’s Color for 2015, Sparkling Hazel is a lovely twist on rose gold, by adding some peach tones to it and of course, the glitter bomb of Blondie Brown, which is not as obnoxious as it might have been as it is more muted with the beige tones.   As I look at the Memebox version of the colors below, I think the only one that is a bit “off” is Sparkling Hazel ~ mine is not that pink toned.

I am really impressed by these eye shadows.  I honestly think that the Nylon palette earlier this year was the fluke with the XO series, as that palette had some beautiful colors but the pigmentation was AWFUL.    It seems that whatever formula they used with that palette has been thrown away and they have come back with beautiful, long wearing, highly pigmented with little fall out eye shadows.  I know when I did a survey earlier this year with Memebox, when I mentioned the Nylon palette, they were fully aware of how bad that product was.  So they do listen!!

This value set is still available at Memebox for $29.00 (what a STEAL!) with a RV of $71.00.  Memebox has  other K-Pop and K-Drama inspired value sets and single eye shadows as well ~ to see all of the I’m Eye Shadow options, click here.  I liked this set so much, that I went back and purchased the K-Pop Inspired Cool Smokey Eye Makeup Set .  Once I received that, I will swatch that on IG.  Memebox also has a Fall Burgundy Makeup Box, which if I didn’t already own most of the colors in the box, I would have purchased!  However, I can attest that the colors are beautiful and it has one of my favorite matte lipsticks, #HDReady Cream Matte Lipstick #03 Daring Marsala, (see my review here) along with some beautiful eye shadows, lip tint and nail polish.

If you follow me on IG, you would have seen my swatches on the new I’m Lipstick line from Memebox

I purchased 2 of them and I love the creamy colors, highly pigmented and these neutrals are perfect for fall!  They wear nicely too and they cover in one application.  They are made with Argan Oil, Rosehip Oil, and Manuka Honey extracts.  Very nicely done!  I have to say, I was initially skeptical of the I’m series line, but now I am a real believer of the quality of their makeup.

There are 30 shades of I’m Lipstick at Memebox and 35 shades of I’m Eye Shadow

  1. So cool that you are reviewing these eye shadows today. I’ve had my eye on the K-Drama set with the brushes but I have been hesitating. I love the K-Pop but I am getting a little older and need less shimmer. Nice to see they were holding up well and had such a nice pigment. I think I will have to just go ahead and give in to their call.

    1. I am a shy person ~ I hate doing selfies!! I will play around with it and try some eye looks, but because of my phone camera (yeah, I need to upgrade), it is hard to show the colors with a selfie. But these are lovely and I have been very impressed too!

      1. Yeah, that’s why I’m less of a “makeup” blogger too. It’s too much work trying to take one decent selfie that actually shows the makeup properly. But I’ve got the lipstick in Pretty Woman on right now and love it! Monica is such a great fall MLBB, too.
