Vita Sciences Maxasorb Vitamin D3 Cream Initial Impressions Review

I received Vita Sciences Maxasorb Vitamin D3 Cream in return for my honest and unbiased  review from Tomoson.   I have tried two previous products from them, Maxasorb Melatonin Cream and B12 Cream, and I was very impressed with both of them, in terms of efficiency and how easy it was to use.  I do have low levels of Vitamin D, which my doctor prescribes 50,000 IU weekly ~ which is a bother, because my doctor will only fill out the prescription for a couple of months, and then I have to call her to get it refilled.   I can also take over the counter Vitamin D pills, which I do take.  However, the problem with pills is that sometimes I forget or I need a little extra sunny D.

About Vita Sciences Maxasorb Vitamin D3 Cream

  • Easy to Use – Using the pump dispenser, press down twice for a single dose of nourishing lotion.
  • Our scent-free hypoallergenic lotion is gentle on the skin, odorless, nonirritating
  • Our product can safely be used with most prescription medications
  • Maxasorb D3 lotion uses only natural, safe ingredients.
  • Maxasorb Vitamin D3 cream helps to rejuvenate the skin, nourishes your delicate skin cells with powerful moisturizing ingredients that help your body to fully absorb vitamin D.

Maxasorb D3 is a topical cream that is scientifically designed to deliver Vitamin D3.   Each full application, which is 2 pumps of the tube, not one, delivers 1,000 IU of Vitamin D3, which for most people is sufficient.   This also contains Vitamin E and aloe, which will help soothe and moisturize your skin.

The Sunshine Vitamin is one of the most essential vitamins that you need, but many people do not get enough of this.   Getting exposure to sunshine daily is one of the ways to nourish your body with Vitamin D, but there is the issue cancer-causing UVB rays and most people do not wish to be exposed them for an extended period of time.  Milk is treated with Vitamin D, but again, many people either do not like the taste of milk, are lactose intolerant or do not drink enough milk daily to make a huge difference.

Why do you need Vitamin D?

Your body must have vitamin D to absorb calcium and promote bone growth. Too little vitamin D results in soft bones in children (rickets) and fragile, misshapen bones in adults (osteomalacia). You also need vitamin D for other important body functions.

Vitamin D deficiency has now been linked to breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, heart disease, depression, weight gain, and other maladies. These studies show that people with higher levels of vitamin D have a lower risk of disease, although they do not definitively prove that lack of vitamin D causes disease — or that vitamin D supplements would lower risk.

What is the difference between Vitamin D2 and Vitamin D3?

“Vitamin D” (calciferol) is considered to be a beneficial and necessary nutrient, but there is no single vitamin called “vitamin D”. What we know as vitamin D is essentially a collective term for two types of calciferol: vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Vitamin D3 is made in the skin of all vertebrates when exposed to sun, while D2 is produced by invertebrates, like fungus and plants, when exposed to the sun.

Generally, the word “vitamin” refers to a substance that the human body cannot produce on its own. So even though it has always been known as a vitamin and an essential one, vitamin D3 is technically not a vitamin but a hormone.

My problem is that I don’t like milk that much ~ I use it in my coffee and if I have cereal, and I shun the sun.  I also have absorption issues,  so my levels of Vitamin D are very low and I have to take 50,000 IU weekly, which is well above the normal range.  I take pills and I supplement them with this cream.

Since Vitamin D3 helps your body absorb calcium and phosphorus, this Vitamin is very important to women to prevent osteoporosis as your bones need both of those essential minerals to keep them healthy and strong.  Vitamin D3 also helps with your heart and can prevent heart disease as well.

Maxasorb uses an airless dispenser and this is a 50 mL bottle, which has about 30 doses ~ about a one month supply.  The lotion is a thick and creamy, white and it has no odor.  When I apply this on my arms, this cream, just like all of the other Maxasorb creams, absorbs quickly and has no greasiness or tacky feel to it.   The ingredients list has some good moisturizing and all natural products, such as aloe and coconut oil.   This is also not made with any parabens and it is manufactured in the USA.  I’ve been using this product for several weeks now and I think it is a fine addition to my vitamin routine.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Juice, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glycerin, Palm Stearic Acid, Emulsifying Wax, Cetyl Myristoleate, Panthenol, Cetyl Alcohol, Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3-1000 IU/dose), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sorbic Acid, Citric Acid

I really recommend this product to anyone who needs to take Vitamin D and hates pills, needs to supplement their intake and is looking for an alternate method of delivering Vitamin D into their body.   I am very impressed by Maxasorb’s cream lines.  Please consult with your doctor FIRST.  I am not a physician nor an expert on supplements so always talk to your doctor before taking any new type of supplements.

You can purchase Vita Sciences Maxasorb Vitamin D3 Cream at amazon.com for $19.95 for a 50 mL bottle (30 doses).  They do have a 100% money back guarantee.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Great alternative! I have tons of problems with absorption of vitamin d (and a lot of vitamins for some reason} so I will definitely give this a try.

  2. Maxasorb contains 1,000 IU of Cholecalciferol per full pump of lotion. There are 60 doses per bottle. Make sure you do not overdose yourself. 2,000 IU per day is too much for most people.
