Memebox Honey Box #beemine Unboxing!

I, along with many K-Beauty fans, LOVE honey products.  It is good for just about every skin type ~ if you are allergic to honey, then it would not be good of course ~ oily, normal, combo, dry skin = honey loves you!  When Memebox was still Global, they did release two honey boxes ~ you can read my reviews on the first box here and the second box here.  They released a new Honey box ~ first one since the horrible breakup with the rest of the world ~ and it sold out in record time.   I received my Honey Box the other day so let’s see what I received!

I have a whole section in my blog,  devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.

Honey Box #beemine

Dip into this honey pot (box) of gooey goodness that will have your skin looking moisturized, ageless, and glowing.  Due to it’s clarifying properties, honey is ideal to treat all sorts of skin concerns from a dull complexion, to clogged pores, and is filled with antioxidants to help slow down the aging process. Create a sweet and glowing complexion with this box, and soon people will ask you to “#beemine”

Holika Holika Honey Sleeping Pack Acerola   Beauteque just sent this out last month!  I am drowning in Holika Holika sleeping packs!  Fortunately, I love this particular product and I will just repeat my review again.   A sleeping pack is a intense moisturizing cream/gel that is applied to your face as the last step in your skincare routine before going to bed.  It locks in all of the nutrients and creates a moisture barrier, so that your skin will be working on healing and rejuvenating while you sleep!  You do not wash it off until the morning, when you wake up.  This is another product I have used ~  the Holika Holika Honey Sleeping Pack ~ but in the Blueberry version  ~ in fact, I am on my second jar of the blueberry since I purchased my first one last summer.   This is one of my top choices for a honey sleeping pack.  It is not sticky, absorbs quickly ~ in fact, I usually let it dry and then apply again before I go to bed.  The jar is adorable, in the shape of a little honey pot 🙂

I have included photos of the Blueberry here, so you can see that the color is much lighter than the Acerola ~ Acerola is made from tropical cherries, so it is a reddish cream..  This is a gel sleeping pack and as I mentioned, it is not heavy or sticky.   This is perfect for ladies who have oily skin ~ I have never broken out in acne using this product.  The 3 versions are:

  • Canola:  Brighening, prevents premature aging of the skin, smooths wrinkles, moisturizes.  20% rapeseed flower extracts, 20% honey extracts
  • Blueberry:  Superfood, tightens enlarged pores and moisturizes intensively.  20% blueberry extracts, 20% honey extracts
  • Acerola: Rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, moisturizes and softens the skin.  20% acerola extracts, 20% honey extracts

I’ve included the ingredients for all of the sleeping packs, as some of you might be interested in that   Full Size 90 mL Value $15.00

Holika Holika Be the Natural Honey Oatmeal Body Cleanser  Ohhhhh, it is rare that body cleansers are sent out, so I am really happy to get this one!  This is a huge bottle of cleanser and it  is made with Manuka honey, royal jelly, propolis extracts and oatmeal, which help moisturize and gently exfoliate.  I opened this up to smell it and it smells like sweet honey ~ even though it is described as a “sweet floral musk”, I am not really smelling florals or musk here.   I wish Memebox would sell this in their shop and hopefully, they will stock it soon.  Full Size 320 mL Value $14.00

Ingredients: Purified water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside,Cocamide DEA, Glycerin, fragrance, Honey Extract, Propolis Extract, Gentiana Scabra Root Extract,  Butylene Glycol, Avena Sativa (Oat) Protein Extract, Disodium EDTA, Lecithin, Dipropylene Glycol, Royal Jelly, citric acid, phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Caprylhydroxamic Acid,  1,2-Hexanediol analysis

Secret Key Honey Bee’s AC Control Soap   I received this soap in Memebox’s April Showers Value Set, so this is another repeat product for me in this box as well as a Memebox recent repeat.  I will repeat what I wrote in the April Showers review here.  I am a HUGE fan of Secret Key’s Honey Bee’s AC line ~ their Facial Mist made one of my first “favorite things” blog posts here.   I have used their foaming cleanser, the above mentioned facial mist and their spot (zit) treatment with great success.   This soap is made with tea tree, salicylic acid and bee venom, which helps clear up and heal acne, as well as preventing new pimples from forming.    This has a nice scent to it, which is probably due to the herbal ingredients.

This soap has some pretty good ingredients

  • Natural bee venom, tea tree oil and salicylic acid help clear up, heal and prevent acne
  • Castor Oil helps control oil production by providing a barrier and also soothes skin
  • Palm Oil and Lavender are cooling and relieve skin redness, while providing moisture
  • Mugwort extracts are anti-inflammatory and help brighten skin
  • Vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant

I know many do not like bar soaps, but I use a bubble net ~ you can make your own by just getting some thin nylon mesh and closing off one end, pop your soap into the open end and I like to close off that end as well ~ so that the soap is securely positioned in the mesh net.   Add a loop to the top of it so that it can be hung up ~ so that the soap will dry ~ and you have a bubble net!  The soap lathers up nicely within a bubble net and then since it dries hanging, there won’t be any melted soap mess.  Full Size 100 g Retail Value $7.50

Description: This soap mainly contains natural bee venom, tea tree oil and salicylic acid which are distinctly known for effectively eliminating pimples and other skin troubles. It also contains Castor Oil which helps control excessive sebum while soothing irritated skin.

How to use: Wash your face with the Honey Bee’s AC Control Soap until it forms a lather. Gently massage it all over the face for 30 seconds and leave it for 1 to 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil,  Palm Oil (fat), Bee Venom, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Aloe Barbadensis, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Hyaluronic Acid, Leptospermum Petersonii (Lemon Tee Tree) Oil, Artemisia Vulgaris (Mugwort) Powder, Propolis Extract analysis

Skinfood Honey Pot Lip Balm  Isn’t this just CUTE?   Reminds me of Pooh Bear’s honey pot jar 🙂   This comes with a cute wooden spoon to scoop out the balm, but I think it is just as unhygienic (or worse) than just sticking your finger in the pot ~ the spoon is wooden and you would have to wash it each time ~ plus you would have to leave that plastic circle on the pot, in order to hold the spoon and not lose it.   The “flavors” are randomly selected from #1 Berry, #2 Mandarin and #3 Honey.    I received #3 Honey, which I (yep) already own ~ this was one of my first K-Beauty honey products that I purchased!  haha   I would have loved to get berry, but I think they are all similar.   The product packaging is very cute, but it doesn’t smell or taste like honey.  Perhaps the berry and mandarin versions smell like berries and oranges, but this one does not have a scent ~ I’ve read reviews where people do think this has a scent, but I cannot smell anything with it.    It is a thick lip balm, and it applies to a clear glossy finish.  It does not contain any honey either in this balm.   I did not run the ingredients thru cosDNA as this product did contain the [may contain] ingredients disclaimer, and I don’t know like to analyze something that I do not know the exact list.    Full Size 6.5 grams Value $13.00

Ingredients:  polybutene, triethylhexanoin, mineral oil, diisostearyl malate, hydrogenated styrene/methyl styreene/indene copolymer, trimethylolpropane triisostearate, dextrin palmitate,  phytosteryl/behenyl/octyldodecyl laroyl glutamate, diethylhexyl syringylidenemalonate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, butylparaben, fragrance, yellow 5 lake (CI 19140:1), iron oxides (CI 77491) [+/- may contain] titanium dioxide (CI 77891), mica (CI 77019), red 6 (CI 15850), red 7 (CI 15850:1), red 30 (CI 73360), red 33 lake (CI 17200), red 28 lake (CI 45410), blue 1 lake (CI 42090:2),  yellow 6 lake (CI 15985:1), iron oxides (CI 77499), iron oxides (I 77492)

Skin79  Honey Moisture Mask  I am getting more and more Skin79 skincare products and I do think they are a good company.  I only knew of them from their BB creams,  so I am glad that Memebox is introducing me to their skincare lines.  Honey masks are usually very highly moisturizing masks that provide nourishment to your skin.  Full Size 10 mL Value $2.00

Description:  Capture and lock in moisture with this moisturizing honey mask sheet.  Formulated with Honey extract, Olive Oil and Sweet Almond Oil you will surely be able to supply an abundant amount of moisture to your skin and prevent dry skin, with its moisturizing protective layer.

My final thoughts on the Honey Box ~ if you are brand spanking new to K-Beauty or to honey products, this is a box that will excite you!   If you are an old hand at K-Beauty or a pro with Honey products, this is a solid box but not very exciting.   Compare the brands in this box with the first two Memebox Honey Boxes ~ they contained brand names you couldn’t find here in the States.    Now, Holika Holika is a solid brand and their sleeping pack is number one in my book, but this box was not made for those who are already established in K-Beauty products.   They just had the AC soap from Secret Key ~ another excellent brand that I love ~ in their April Showers Value set, so Memebox is double dipping here and putting out repeats back to back.   I would have loved to see the lovely Migabee in this box as they make some amazing honey products.   It is not a bad box at all, but for me, it is a bit of a boring box.   The most exciting thing to me is the body cleanser as I haven’t tried that out yet ~ and I noticed that in my review for the 2nd honey box, I had made the suggestion for a honey body cleanser!     Memebox seems to be tailoring their boxes to the new K-Beauty customers only, unlike when they were a Global entity ~ they had both popular name brands and new brands that satisfied everyone.   However,  I will use all of the products and I paid $25.00 (and added a few more things to get free shipping) and received a MemeValue of $51.50

Did you purchase the Honey Box?  What was your favorite item?  If you have purchased the past Honey Memeboxes, how does this one compare in your eyes?  Let me know in the comments below!

    1. Yes I was hoping for the berry one, but hey, it was only for “looks”….Your choice of the honey lip treatment IS SO much better – that is like putting pure honey on your lips!
