Memebox Botanic Farm Unboxing!

Memebox unveiled a new vendor ~ well, at least new to me and Memebox ~ called Botanic Farm and all of the products looked really interesting, but I really wanted a BOX curated with Botanic Farm products.  A few weeks later, my wish was granted and Memebox curated a Botanic Farm box (which is still available as I write this unboxing)

I have a whole section in my blog,  devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.

 Botanic Farm

Many of you are new to Botanic Farm so we’ve curated a box with their products so you can get introduced to their brand. Get ready to transform your skin with their skincare and cosmetics! Their wacky and out-of-the-ordinary ingredients like camel milk, black soybean, and many others will help revive, regenerate and renew your skincare game.

I really like the Botanic Farm logo, so I was curious about all of the symbols

image from

It is broken down in images, so you can see that the top row has Cloud (구름),  Bird (새),  Leaves (나믓잎).  The bottom row is Butterfly (나비), Flower (꽃) and Sprout/Bud (새싹).   I love how they create the logo by piecing all of the individual images into one image. . I am sure there is more to the story of Botanic Farm, but I am not sure I have the patience to translate the full paragraph there.

Okay, now onto my box!

Those green things are soybeans…haha..with puppy dog faces 😀

Informational Card

Natural Energy Mask Sheet Kiwi  I am not sure if I have had a Kiwi sheet mask before ~ if I have, it was like one time or something, because I cannot remember.  This is a brightening and cooling mask to help revive dull skin and not only does it have Kiwi extract (20mg), it contains something called “Herb (Hurb) Complex”  which is made up of

  • 백작약 – White Peony (Paeonia Albiflora)
  • 황금 – Scutellaria Baicalensis
  • 고삼 – Sophora Angustifolia
  • 도엽- Something leaves.  I am not sure – but I have the feeling this is the Peach Leaves (Prunus Persica)
  • 은행잎 – Ginkgo Biloba

All of the Natural Energy Masks have the Herb Complex, made with a natural cellulose sheet mask and is free from: parabens, mineral oil, sulfates, synthetic dye, silicone, animal raw materials and talc (7 free).    Value $2.00

Natural Energy Mask Sheet Rose I don’t think that rose is a wacky ingredient.  Considering that they had mustard seaweed in the shop, I would have rather had that.  That said, as I cannot use rose, I will gift this or put it in a giveway.  This is a whitening mask, and contains niacinamide and rose extracts.   The description card states rosehips, but rose flower extract and rosehips are two different things!  This also has green tea, peach and snow lotus extracts.   Value $2.00

Description: This mask sheet is infused with rose extract which perfectly rejuvenates the skin by helping it produce healthier skin cells and promote firmer skin. This is a great mask to use after staying out under the sun for a long period of time as its main component, rose extract, includes vitamin C which helps prevent skin damages. Not only does it help tighten the pores, this mask also releases an aromatherapeutic rose fragrance that helps the mind relax.

Ingredients: water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Niacinamide, Alcohol, PEG-75, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil,  Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract(20mg),  Xanthan gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Saussurea Involucrata (snow lotus) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Sophora Angustifolia Root Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract,  Prunus Persica (Peach) Leaf Extract, Paeonia Albiflora (peony) Root Extract , Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance analysis

Botanic Farm Polar Energy Hydrogel Mask Pack Camel Milk  I have had a camel milk facial cream before, so this is an ingredient I have tried out before.   Camel milk is very similar to human milk and is reported to protect your skin against external environmental stresses, preventing wrinkles and correcting wrinkles.   This hydrogel mask contains 1000ppm of camel milk, along with milk proteins, oat, ginger and green tea extracts.   The information on this mask mentions “Lactoferrin” and that is the protein found in cow’s milk and human milk.  This mask not only has camel’s milk, but milk protein extract, which I will assume is cow’s milk.   It is an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent. Value $5.00

Description: This hydrogel mask is specially designed to effectively seal the nutrients it supplies the skin. This mask mainly contains of Camel Milk Extract (1,000ppm) which is rich in anti-aging ingredients. This helps keep the skin firm and supple to prevent further development of wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps balance the skin’s moisture levels for it to look radiant and healthy all throughout the day.

How to use: After washing and toning, carefully remove this hydrogel mask sheet from its packaging to avoid tearing the mask or spilling the essence. Gently place the mask onto your face and leave it for 20~40 minutes. Afterwards, warm palms by gently rubbing them together and wrap your hands around your face to allow better absorption.

Ingredients: water, glycerin, butylene glycol, Adenosine, chondrus cripus (carrageenan), Camel Milk (1,000ppm), Milk Protein Extract, Avena Sativa (oat) meal extract, Glycyrrhiza Blabra (licorice) root extract, Zingiver Officinale (ginger) root extract, schizandra chinensis fruit extract, coptis japonica root extract, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, ceratonia silqua gum, chlorphenesin, disodium EDTA, cellulose gum, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium polyacrylate, allantoin, calcium carbonate, corn starch modified, 1,2-hexanediol,  caprylyl glycol, fragrance analysis

Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet  This was one of several Botanic Farm products I wanted to try and I am so happy it is in this box!  This is an oil based cleanser and only a little is needed to thoroughly remove makeup and dirt from your skin.  This is the first step in a 2 step cleansing process, the oil step.  I don’t use water initially ~ I just scoop out a bit of this cleanser and then massage it into my face.   It turns to oil right away and then it dissolves my makeup.  When I am ready to clean off the oil from my face, I use warm water to emulsify it and then I rinse it off.  I do not like to use the “tissue” method.  My face does not feel dry or tight.  This cleanser doesn’t have a scent that I can detect and contains 100ppm each of these fermented grains to help with conditioning and act as a humectant:  rice bran (sake), rice and soybean, as well as Vitamin E.  Full Size 100 mL Value $30.00

Description: Botanic Farm’s Grain Ferment Sherbet is specially formulated to thoroughly remove face makeup without irritating the skin. It contains fermented rice bran which brightens the skin while removing skin impurities. With just a small amount of the makeup removing cream, it effectively melts down makeup, even waterproof ones, while promoting a better skin texture by providing balanced hydration coming from its premium natural ingredients.

How to Use: Take an appropriate amount of the Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet and gently massage it all over the face using your fingertips. Massage until the makeup fully melts. Wipe off with tissue and proceed to washing the face.

Ingredients:  Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Polyethylene, PEG-10 Isostearate, Rice Ferment Filtrate (Sake) (100ppm), Saccharomyces/Rice Bran Ferment (100ppm), Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract (100ppm), Trihydroxystearin, Tocopheryl Acetate (vitamin E), Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance analysis

Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack  This was the other item that I was really interested in as I love a good fermented product and this is it!  It also has other ingredients, such as milk protein extracts, sodium hyaluronate, niacinamide and betaine.    This is a whitening and anti-wrinkle sleeping pack and the texture is very different from most sleeping packs ~ this is similar to the piggy collagen masks, where you can break it up and mush it around in the jar with the spatula, but it will smooth back down and remember its shape.  When I look at the ingredients, I see hydrolyzed collagen, which the piggy collagen masks have  ~  so now it makes sense!  This has a great yeasty scent to it, which may turn some people off, but I happen to love that scent.  Yeah, I prefer yeast, grainy scents to floral 😀  It is a poop-tan color (haha) and it very slick.  Once I massage it in, I thought it would not absorb, but it does within a few minutes and my face feels moist without any stickiness.  I do smell like a bakery, which could be due to the lovely fermented beans and soybeans in this product.  However, this product also contains monascus, which is a mold and I do think it is the red yeast rice mold, which explains the scent.    It is strange that the grains cleanser didn’t smell much of anything, but this sleeping pack really does have a fragrance.   Full Size 80 mL Value $28.00

Description: Botanic Farm’s Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack boosts skin cell regeneration to be able to produce softer, firmer and more flawless skin overnight. The body naturally repairs itself during sleep and with the help of the highly nourishing ingredients this sleeping pack contains, it doubles up the skin’s ability to repair itself by having the nutrients thoroughly penetrate the skin. By having fermented bean extract, milk and collagen as it key components, the sleeping pack’s moisturizing effect is grandiose. It also provides a moisture shield barrier that protects the skin to outdoor exposure the very next day.

Ingredients: water, cyclopentasiloxane, butylene glycol, niacinamide, betaine, cyclohexasiloxane, hydrolyzed collagen, lactobacillus/soybean ferment extract, theobroma cacao (cocoa) extract, gardenia florida fruit extract, glycine soja (soybean) seed extract, monascus (mold) extract, milk protein extract, carthamus tinctorius (safflower) flower extract, glycerin, urea, PEG-240/HDI copolymer bis-decyltetradeceth-20 ether, polysorbate 20, dimethicone, dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, caprylyl glycol, dimethiconol, sodium hyaluronate, adenosine, aminomethyl propanol, sodium polyacrylate, PVM/MA copolymer, maltodextrin, carbomer, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance analysis

My final thoughts on the Botanic Farm Box ~ I really love this box!  Despite the rose mask, which I won’t use, the other products are well worth the price of this box, which is $35.00 including shipping and I received a MemeValue of $67.00.  I wanted to try the camel’s mask, cleansing cream and sleeping pack, so I am really happy with this box.   I am really pleased that Memebox is branching out and exploring other lesser-known-outside-of-Korea brands and Botanic Farms has some pretty cool ingredients that are fun and usual!
