SU:M37 Water-full Key Ingredients

Like most SU:M37 products, there are 50 fermented plant extracts, herbs and essential oils.  I read and I have no idea if this is true, but it probably is, that  SU:M37 uses Japanese oak barrels to ferment their ingredients up to three years and they play classical music in those rooms where stuff is a-fermenting.  The key ingredient in the Water-full line is fermented bamboo sap, which not only contains over 70% of silica, which is a crucial item when it comes to your skin’s connective tissue, collagen and rich in amino acids. By stimulating certain cells, silica helps strengthen your collagen and elastin, which in turn will help firm and tone your skin and plump up your skin, so fine lines and wrinkles are not as noticeable. Bamboo is also known for an instant dose of hydration, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and retain moisture.

This also contains fermented hibiscus, which is a natural AHA and red clover, treating irritation and it has “estrogen-like” properties, which make it a great anti-aging ingredient too.  Trifolium pratense (red clover) has skin soothing, anti-inflammatory and  anti-oxidant benefits due to its high content of skin regenerating isoflavones.  It is packed with nourishing ingredients for your skin, like vitamin C, niacin, calcium and thiamine.   Honeysuckle is a soothing ingredient, that helps with skin irritation, improve uneven skin tone and it is anti-bacterial and antiseptic as well.  It also tones and balances your skin.

These ampoules have something called an “Aqua Activator“, which I have to think is all of the hydrating humectants in here: glycerin, betaine, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, beta-glucan and a newbie to me ~ PEG/PPG/polybutylene glycol-8/5/3 glycerin. This ingredient is a water-soluble oil and it is moisturizing without a sticky residue.  When it is paired with other ingredients like glycerin, it becomes even more hydrating.  These ingredients will deliver long lasting hydration to your skin over 24 hours.

Skin brightening fungus tricholoma matsutake and licorice help keep skin nice and bright and antioxidants like green tea, carrot, raspberry, fig, garlic, onion, cabbage ~ the list goes on with these salad ingredients!  These will help fight free radicals and help to reverse or diminish damage caused by them. This also has calming and healing mugwort, centella, chamomile along with blemish busting antibacterial, anti-inflammatory turmeric, houttuynia cordata, rosemary, lemon balm, thyme and sage.  If you are sensitive to essential oils, this product does contain them.

Okay, can we talk about the packaging?  It’s probably the second reason why I really wanted to try this ~ the first reason being my success with the Water-full skincare line.  Yes, it is SO wasteful with all of the 5 mL ampoules that could have been in one 60 mL pump bottle.  SU:M37’s reasoning behind this is freshness ~  You only open up one bottle at a time, so it is fresher.  The fresher it is, the more potent the product is.   They also do not have to add as much preservatives as well as you will use up the 5mL bottle quite quickly.  BUT OMG, it is so pretty and I will reuse the main container for cotton pads and swabs.   This is some heavy plastic and it is clear but the insert that holds the 12 ampoules is a smoky blue shade.   Each ampoule is a 5 mL glass bottle with a smokey blue metallic twist off cap.  The side of the ampoule is marked off by 1 mL intervals so you can pour (or tap out) the essence and use the side measure for the appropriate amount.  I use 1 mL each time I use this product, so twice a day making this a 30 day supply.  Since SU:M37 says this is a 60 day treatment, that would mean 1 mL daily or 1/2 mL twice a day.

So based on that long list of ingredients, this is not your ordinary HA ampoule.  No sir, it is full of fermented stuff in a water base (fermented water, anyone) and it has a lovely light herbal scent.  This essence is thicker than water, but it isn’t sticky.  I just spread it around my face and let it sink into my skin, which does take a longer than if I splashed water on my face ~ this essence does have substance.

Water-full Deep Effect Ampoule initially leaves a glossy finish to my skin, very glowy, but it does dry down.  This also feels very cooling on this skin, which I am going to assume is the mint extract in here. I found that this works REALLY well when I mix it with a lightweight lotion ~ it really amps up the hydration without any greasy or sticky residue.    This ampoule really does plump up skin, making it soft and hydrated.  I find that it is very intense hydration without the stickiness that other hyaluronic acid treatments can have.   Even though this ampoule has a lot of ingredients, including essential oils and tons of fermented ingredients, this does not cause irritation to my skin and is very soothing and calming.   For my dehydrated yet oily skin, this is a great choice.   That said, the price is very expensive for 60 mL of product and I do wish that SU:M37 would rethink the packaging, even though I think it is stunning.

Where to Purchase

Jolse  carries SU:M37 Water-full Deep Effect Ampoule for $103.70 USD (click here to purchase).  You can also purchase samples off eBay if you want to try this out first before committing to such a large sum.  I do enjoy this product quite a bit, but I understand that $100+ is a lot of money for a product that is a pre-essence step.

Jolse offers free shipping plus gives a lot of samples out ~ the more you purchase, the more samples you get! Please note that the prices do fluctuate a little bit due to the WON to USD exchange rates.

Make sure to check your coupon zone (click here) for money saving discounts. You need to log into Jolse first, then download the coupons before you use them. Coupon savings usually are $5.00 off a $50.00+ purchase, 5% off $100.00+ purchase and 10$ off a $200.00+ purchase
