Unboxing Beauty

Sophie’s Choice Beauty Box is an amazing press sample set out by a brand new private influenster community created by Sophie at Sophie’s Beauty Box.   Let’s dive into the unboxing and my initial impressions on each product, which were originally posted on my Instagram account. 

Skin type/concerns:  Oily, aging, blemish prone, pores, hyper-pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles.

Blossom is described with top notes of orange & grapefruit, middle note of jasmine and a base note of freesia & musk.  Quite frankly, the only scents I pick up on are the musk and freesia.   The musk is quite strong but there is a delicate freesia note peeking behind it.  When I first tried this, I wasn’t a huge fan but this scent grew on me.  I actually do like it, however be warned it is very strong!  Beauty Tap carries the Original Scent of La Muse Perfumed Body Cream, which looks to be a white floral.  Do you like perfumed body creams?  What is your favorite type of scent?  Where to Purchase: [ Beauty Tap |  La Muse Korean Site * ]   If you are in Korea, you obviously can order directly from the Korean site. In addition to the little bebe Huangjisoo cleanser, I also received a huge gift box filled with 3 additional cleansers. I actually love the foaming cleansers from Huangjisoo , a EWG certified, cruelty free, using over 95% natural, organic ingredients.  They are free from palm oil, parabens, ethanol, artificial color & fragrance and vegan friendly. And for a foaming cleanser, they have a pH level of around a 7.5, but the ingredients are so lush and moisturizing, my skin never feels stripped with this creamy foaming cleanser.  Huangjisoo creates several types of foaming cleansers and I think I am only missing one now ~ the one for troubled skin, which I may purchase on my own once I get through all of these cleansers!  All of their foaming cleansers are formulated to create micro foam bubbles, keep your skin moisturized after cleansing, hypo-allergenic, over 98% natural and organic ingredients and uses a natural surfactant: sodium cocoyl apple amino acids.  

Pure Daily Brightening Foam Cleanser contains 7% antioxidant green tea, apple extract to help improve skin tone, vitamin C rich acerola to help brighten skin.   Smells like citrus 

Pure Daily Anti-Pollution/Anti-Aging Foaming Cleanser (bebe) contains antioxidant purifying schisandra chinensis (magnolia berry) and vitamin C rich prickly pear, healing lavender and cleansing marjoram oil, all designed to help tired skin rejuvenate.  Smells herbal, woodsy

Pure Daily Moisturizing Foaming Cleanser  contains 3% wheat seed extract, to help hydrated and soothe skin, with amino acids and polysaccharides.  Smells herbal, woodsy

And then I received their Pure Perfect Cleansing Oil, made with 96%  premium plant based oils, 27% Californian jojoba oil & 19% olive oil ~ no chemical preservatives, water soluble formula.  No water and with 98% vegetable oils, it will help unclog pores and remove oil (fight oil with oil!) and makeup.  This smells like citrus as well and I am in need of an oil cleanser, so this came at a great time!  You can find Huangjisoo at Amazon USA, full sized versions plus a lovely little mini sampler of all their foaming cleansers. I have never heard of this brand before, so I was excited to try out some new masks! Coscodi Rosy Pink Light Pomegranate Mask Sheet ~ containing 1% pomegranate extract and 0.2% hydrolyzed collagen along with hyaluronic acid, this will help increase moisture to your skin. Made with eco-friendly cotton sheet, that claims to have excellent adhesion to the skin, it will help with the absorption of the fruity-candy scented, watery essence, of which there is a LOT.  It’s fit is big and has folds, doesn’t adhere that well on my skin at all.  My skin is quite hydrated and moist after I remove the mask, no sticky/tacky residue.  It does what it claims except for the adhesion bit.  Where to Purchase: [ Coscodi Online Site ]

Coscodi Sparkling Wine Mask Sheet Red is an anti-aging mask due to its wine extracts ~ wine contains an natural antioxidant called resveratrol, which helps combat free radicals.  This also has a natural source of BHA exfoliant with willow bark, to help clean out your pores.  This mask has a very grape juice scent (no booze here!) and lots of watery essence.  The mask is made from a cotton cupra material, which is linter from cottonseeds.  The fit is good and it feels cooling and hydrating while on my face, but it doesn’t adhere very well from the get-go.  I was able to leave it on for 30 minutes and it was still quite moist.  My skin was refreshed and hydrated with no sticky or tacky residue, dries down nicely.  Where to Purchase: [ Amazon USA  | Facetory | Coscodi Online Site  ]

Candy O’Lady! Have you heard of this brand? I believe the Candy O’ Lady Holiday Candy Mask is a limited edition for the holiday season, as I could not find it online. This is a berry-delightful with vitamin C-rich strawberries to brighten and hydrate your dull partying skin. The mask has a lot of watery essence that is sweetly candy scented. The mask fit is pretty bad as the sheet is very stiff for some reason and therefore, doesn’t adhere that well to my face. However, after removal, it didn’t leave a sticky or tacky residue and my skin felt very refreshed and hydrated.

I have tried the Candy O’ Glow Peel Off mask in Flamingo before and this is my favorite of the 3 types they make. They come in these super cute tubes that look like toothpaste. Flamingo has niacinamide for brightening effects and kaolin for pore cleansing. It does contain alcohol, but that is normal for peel off masks. Flamingo is a bright metallic pink mask that smells like alcohol-candy, reminding me of sweet tarts. You have to apply a thick layer or this mask is difficult to remove. Flamingo gave me immediate brightening results and my skin looks very clean ~ for me, it also temporarily tighten pores and cleaned out gunk. L’arvore Pomegranate Nature Source Cell Mask ~ I have never heard of this brand before and it is very difficult to find online!  This mask has anti-oxidant, moisturizing pomegranate, which helps nourish, soften and restore elasticity, while the organic acids in a pom have a slight brightening and exfoliating effect.  This also has a “superfood complex 6”  containing  sea mustard, moisturizing, skin softening wheat sprout, spirulina, antioxidant broccoli, avocado, green tea seed and also healing centella asiatica extract. The sheet mask is nice and soft, good fit on my face, dripping with a sweet, lightly scented floral fragrance.  This felt nice and refreshing on my skin while I was wearing the mask.  After 40 minutes, I removed it and the dry down was fairly quick with no stick or tacky residue.  I didn’t really notice any brightening but my skin felt smooth and hydrated, very fresh
