Unboxing October 2016 Kloverbox + Promo!

Kloverbox is an eco-friendly, organic lifestyle box and is one of my favorite subscriptions ~ They have sold the ownership to someone else in the last few months, and so far, the new owners have done an excellent job in curation.  Kloverbox delivers deluxe and full size products and I have been impressed with their packaging and curating of their boxes. You can subscribe to Kloverbox  either as a month-to-month at $25/monthly, 3 month subscription at $23.75/monthly or a 6 month subscription at $22.50/monthly

This month’s theme is “Hello October” with lots of fall colors and scents.

MyChelle Pumpkin Renew Cream (Normal)   I do enjoy getting MyChelle products ~ their sugar facial scrub is amazing!  I am, however, concerned that this moisturizing cream, made with antioxidant rich pumpkin and cloud berry seed oil and shea butter, might be too heavy for my face.  Not to worry!   The texture of this light green colored cream is more of a lightweight lotion ~ it doesn’t even look like a cream in the jar.  This has anti-aging EGF peptides, AHA with lactic acid ~ to help refine and smooth your skin’s surface while repairing and protecting your skin, promoting collegen production.  This also has astaxanthin, which is from micro algae, but astaxanthin is red-orange in color and this lotion is mint green, so I don’t think this has a lot of this ingredient in here.  However, the previous ingredients I mentioned help combat free radicals and prevent moisture loss, so it isn’t a necessary ingredient.   It free from GMO, gluten, parabens, petroleum, phthalates, silicones, sulfates, ureas, artificial fragrances, and artificial colors and is vegan and cruelty-free.

The scent of this cream is like a spicy floral, not pumpkin and that makes sense, as it has a slew of botanical oils ~ lavender, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, orange and honeysuckle.   It isn’t overpowering and I love the smell of this.  This lotion absorbs quickly into my skin, without any heaviness or greasy feeling ~ I will be using this as a night cream under my sleep pack. I was looking at some other creams from MyChelle and I am really interested in their Apple Brightening Cream.. Have you tried that one?  What did you think of it? I will have to see about purchasing that next year.   Full Size 1.2 ozRV $28.00

Good Common Sense Naturals  Tidy Pumpkin Hand Sanitizer  (I know, the photo has them left to right and I am describing them right to left!!)  This  is an alcohol free hand sanitizer ~ just in time for the cold and flu season!  I love how portable it is ~ it is only 8mL but there are 80 sprays in here, which is the equivalent of 80 hand washes.  This scent is not a pumpkin scent, but all of the spices that go with pumpkin pie, such as cinnamon, clove and ginger ~ this is one good smelling hand sanitizer.  I feel like I should spray it on my latte! haha 🙂 Good Common Sense creates handmade botanical soaps and skin care products that are chemical-free, organic and non-toxic ~   they have both an amazon.com presence, where their hand sanitizers sell for $5.29  and an etsy presence, where this limited edition product is $2.00.  I am going to use my promo code of KLOVER16 to save 15% off at their shop as they have some really lovely products!  8mL RV $5.29

Wanderlust Scents October Road Luxury Roller Ball Perfume Oil  It isn’t marked on the perfume or card, but it is October Road, one of the new scents from Wanderlust Scents.  I emailed them and they told me the name of it and a description.  This scent is so new, that they do not have any products yet available at their shop!  They will have a huge list of fall scents, which I am eagerly waiting for.  This is a lovely light musk-woodsy scent with spicy florals ~ “Notes of ginger apple, cinnamon, autumn mums, anise, woods, musk, and vanilla.”  I really like this scent a lot ~ it is very sexy.  This is hand mixed, made in small batches, handcrafted in the USA and never tested on animals.   Full Size 10mL RV $10.00   Save 10% off any items at Wanderlust Scents Shop with promo code IMBACK

Beatnik Naturals Organic Facial Steam  Beatnik Naturals is another etsy shop and they specialize in making handmade nontoxic skincare with a Cuban flair, located in Florida.  I like using facial steam baths ~ it really helps when I am not feeling well and it opens up my pores, lets all of the toxins out while opening up my air passages.   I received 2 tea bags filled with organic flowers and herbs, but because this contains roses in it, I will gift this.   This is free from phthalates, parabens, sulfates, chemicals and cruelty  RV $5.99  Free Shipping with orders $50.00 and up at Beatnik Naturals with Promo Code FREESHIP50

Description:  Why should you do a facial steam? A steady stream of warm, soothing steam does more than instantly relax your body and mind. Steaming your face also: Boosts circulation, Hydrates and oxygenates your skin, Loosens debris and unclogs pores, Promotes a healthy glow, Calms your nerves with herbal aromas. Organic rose and lavender buds have a soft and calming fragrance that helps you unwind and their natural oils soothe your skin. Organic papaya leaves and calendula, helichrysum, and chamomile flowers all help rejuvenate your skin by softening and calming irritation, as well as providing nutrients. The steam stimulates circulation and helps purge impurities. Your face will be rejuvenated and your mind will be calm.

How to Use:   Start with a clean face. Can be used once a week. Pour 2-3 tbsp of tea into the muslin bag (or if using sample tea bags use 1-2 bags) and drop into a bowl with 2-3 cups of boiling water. Cover the bowl and steep for a few minutes. Uncover the bowl and drape a towel over your head. Place your face over the bowl. Close your eyes and breathe deeply for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse face and follow with a mask, or simply tone and moisturize. The herbal water can be used to mix a clay mask, or in the bath or shower.

PeopleTowels – One Fall Hand Towel and One Eco-Sack OMG this is SO CUTE. This is a reusable towel that is a alternative to paper towels – we throw away 13 billion pounds of paper towels into landfills yearly.  Their products are made from 100% certified Fair Trade organic cotton, printed with eco-friendly dyes (no arsenic), no harmful chemicals and no child labor was used to make these.  The proprietary fabric is light weight and colorful, dries quickly.  PeopleTowels is a woman-owned business (yeah!) since 2009, and were the first to make a sustainable alternative to paper towels.   The 9×9 inch personal towel in this month’s box is adorable ~ With the saying “This is not a tree” and all of the different trees in  bright and vivid colors against a white background, this towel is almost too cute to use!  This also has a brown eco-bag to carry your personal hand towel around.   Order 100 or more PeopleTowels and you automatically save 10%.   I am going to see if I can get some interest at my job about this, as I do work for a university and we do encourage green lifestyle acts.  RV $8.00

About Paper Towels and Why PeopleTowels: One ton of paper towels consumes 17 trees and 20,000 gallons of water. Decomposing paper towels produce methane gas, a leading cause of global warming. Paper towel waste is one of the largest contributors to municipal landfill waste. Paper towels can be composted, not recycled. The average person uses 2,400 – 3,000 paper towels at work, in a given year.

In Japan everyone – men, women, children – young and old carry a hand towel because they do not have paper towels in public restrooms and hand dryers are only occasionally found in large cities.  In the U.S., 13 billion lbs. of paper towel waste is sent to landfills, annually! Plus, millions of trees are cut down for a product that is used for seconds and tossed.  They thought, if 127 million Japanese can survive without paper towels, why can’t we? Through their work with sports teams, businesses, colleges and universities, they are proud to have influenced the behavior of tens of thousands of people.   Since 2009, they estimate that PeopleTowels users have diverted close to 5 million pounds of paper towel waste.   Small Act. Big Impact.

This is another winner from Kloverbox!  I am happy with the fall-theme of the products ~ pumpkin face cream, spicy fall scents in both the hand santizier and perfume and the lovely hand towel that packs a huge impact!   The facial steaming “tea” bags are really lovely, I just cannot use them due to the rose buds in it, but I can easily find a nice home for them.   I paid $15.00 due to a Black Friday promo code + renewing 3 month subscription and received a value of $57.28.  Do you subscribe to Kloverbox?  What was your favorite product this month?
