Nooni Pink Snowflake Cleansing Set ~ Initial Impressions Review

blog post contains affiliate links

I purchased the advanced Nooni Snowflake cleansing set a couple of weeks ago because I do think that Memebox’s line of products are pretty good, I enjoyed the Nooni Cleansing Balm (review here) and the price was fantastic!  This is sold out now, but it will be launched fully soon and I hope this initial impressions review will help you decide if you want to purchase it!   This set contains 4 items:  Snowflake Stick Cleanser, Snowflake Whipping Cleanser, Marshmallow Whip Maker and a Pore Cleansing Jelly Pad.

nooni Snowflake Stick Cleanser   According to Memebox, this stick cleanser is the same as the nooni Snowflake Cleansing Balm, but the ingredient list is very different.  I’ve posted both ingredient lists below, so you can see the comparison.  I happen to like this formula much better, as it has salicylic acid. Stick oil cleansers are very popular because they are so portable and easy to carry.  No more having to haul a huge tub of balm around!  This is a creamy white solid sherbet balm and I do not detect a scent.  I do have issues with the cap, as it is supposed to be a twist off cap, but it doesn’t stay on very well ~ I twist it back on, and it pops right off.  Right there, that is a major issue if you are traveling with this item.

The first ingredient is mineral oil, but mineral oil is not bad for your skin ~ it is a noncomedogenic ~ its molecules are too big to enter into your pores.  It also has great hydrating properties for your skin as well. Because this is an “oil” cleanser, it is hard to do a pH test on it ~ quite frankly, doing pH tests on oil cleansers is not recommended, as pH strips cannot accurately register oils.   See with the test below ~ the numbers are all over the place!

I used the silicon pad to help apply the balm to my skin, as I do not want to have a cleansing tube with makeup ~ I learned my lesson the last time I did that!

It does a fairy good job, but still leaves behind some stubborn eyeliner and Tonymoly Delight tint.  That said, the product does states that it removes light makeup, not heavy, long lasting makeup, so I am not disappointed by the results.   I like that this has salicylic acid in it, as that will help gently exfoliate and unclog your pores, removing dead skin cells and excess oil.   This is a 4 in 1 product as it removes makeup, exfoliates, cleanses and is moisturizing due to the slew of oils in this product ~ jojoba, olive, sunflower, shea butter and it also has vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant.  Full Size 1.26 fl oz  RV $17.00

I translated the ingredients from the package ~ all mistakes are my own

nooni Pore Cleansing Jelly Pad  This is a little silicon pad with soft bristles so that you can work in oil cleansers into your skin more efficiency.   It is flexible, so it will hug the contours of your face and will even get in between hard to clean areas ~ such as around your nose.  Rinses off quickly and completely.  These are great to have around ~ I own a couple like this one.

nooni Snowflake Whipping Cleanser  So, this is their micro bubbles foaming cleanser made with Jeju water ~ which is mineral rich and will help the elasticity of your skin while you cleanse.  The scent of this cleanser is a light floral and I did notice two ingredients that trigger issues with me ~ jasmine and rose.  It doesn’t smell like either, which is great.  The rose extract is far down on the ingredient list, so it does not seem to be affecting my skin in a negative fashion (yet).  This product contains sericin, which is a natural moisturizer that is derived from the proteins of silkworm fibers, so this is not vegan nor cruelty free.   The pH level on this cleanser is around 8 to 9 ~ I did several tests and they do range between those two numbers.

I used my Memebox I’m Pore Brush  (a great cleansing tool, btw) for this test and you can see it does foam up nicely and it also does a better job in removing heavy and long lasting makeup than the Stick cleanser.  My skin doesn’t feel dry and in fact, it feels supple and soft.   Full Size 150 mL RV $10.00

Ingredients: water, glycerin, palmitic acid, lauric acid, stearic acid, potassium hydroxide, myristic acid, glyceryl stearate, PEG-32, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium cocoyl isethionate, glycol stearate, PEG-100 stearate, pearl powder, kaolin, saussurea involucrata extract, freesia refracta extract, iris versicolor extract, jasminum officinale (jasmine) extract, lilium tigrinum extract, leontopodium alpinum extract, nelumbium speciosum flower extract, narcissus pseudo-narcissus (daffodil) flower extract, rose extract, sericin, althaea offinalis root extract, oxygen, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, sodium chloride, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymber, arachidic acid, hydrogenated coconut oil,  polyquaternium-7, sodium isethionate, capric acid, PEG-14M, sodium benzoate, silica, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance  cosDNA.com analysis

nooni Marshmallow Whip Maker  Now for the fun part of the review!  This is a “marshmallow whip” maker ~ which will make your foam and gel cleansers whip up into fine micro foam.   It consists of a pink plastic beaker and plastic lid with a “punch pad”.  This pad has holes in it, so that as you move the handle up and down, it will aerate (add air to)  your cleanser, so it will become thick and foamy.

You can see how this foam is so different looking than when I use the pore brush .  It is light and silky and full of micro bubbles.  I just pumped this for about 20 to 30 seconds and you can see how quickly this foamed up. Even if you don’t care for the nooni cleanser, this works on other cleansers ~ I tried it on a gel cleanser and it worked nicely ~ full of light, lovely foam!

However, I don’t know if I have the time to do this ~ it is fast, but in the shower, this is a bulky item to use.  It is pretty cool, however. RV $6.00

Final Thoughts

I do like the oil stick cleanser and will add this to my travel bag, but I will have to place it in a plastic bag, as the cap is really poorly designed.   The cleanser is fine, but I won’t repurchase due to the rose ingredient.   The Marshmallow Whip Maker is really cool, and I love this concept ~ now, they need to make this more portable and shower friendly!  This particular set is sold out, but keep checking back (link here)  in case they restock it ~ however, they do have two value sets currently on sale at Memebox (and this weekend has free shipping)  Were you one of the lucky folks to be able to purchase this kit?  What did you think of it?  Let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear from you 🙂

If you are interested in purchasing these products, but do not live in the USA, you can use a shipping service and get them directly from the Korean Memebox site (link here). I use Korean Buddy as my shipping service and have been very happy with their service ~ I have another order with them and they went out of their way to get a promo item I wanted in the color I wanted, by actually going down to the store and exchanging the item!!  You cannot get any better service than that!   If you use them, let them know you came from my site using my url, and you will save 50% off their service charge fee for your first order, which is at least $4.50.   Tell them that https://beautyfindsforme.wordpress.com sent you!

  1. I couldn’t resist and bought this (with your coupon too! YAY!), and while I do find the whip maker gimmicky it’s SO fun to use! It aerates the CosRx Good Morning gel cleanser into a cloudy foam! Love it. The Snowflake Cleanser tube is abnormally tall, don’t you think? I didn’t open it cuz I didn’t know what the pH of it was, so thanks for your informative post!
