More wash off masks to round up and try! I have TONS of samples (and full sizes) of wash off masks from sub boxes or purchases, as well as some full sized wash off mask packs that I need to get too. Check out Part 1 of this digest and all of these reviews originally appeared on my Instagram account. I will have a Part 3, as I seriously didn’t realize how many of these packs I own!
Naturopathica Pumpkin Purifying Enzyme Peel is one of my favorite clarifying masks ~ I call it my Spring-Cleaning mask, as it really helps unclog pores, brightens, smooths, softens and resurfaces my skin ~ and tightens the appearance of my pores. This is an exfoliating mask as it is make with pumpkins ~ extracts, “wine” and fermented pumpkin ~ and it looks like pumpkin puree! It smells not sweet like pie, but more savory, as this has rosemary, cinnamon, clove, ginger, thyme and oregano herbs, which are antibacterial, act as an astringent, tightens pores and prevent infections. I leave this mask on for about 5 minutes (if you have sensitive skin, you should start out with a shorter time) and then massage the peel into my face and rinse off. This mask is a bit pricey (almost $60.00) but it really does make your skin feel wonderful ~ if you are interested in this, you should try and see if Naturopathica will send you some sample foils ~ that is how I found out about this peel a few years ago.
Description: Naturopathica Pumpkin Purifying Enzyme Peel naturally breaks down skin cells to reveal a fresh, smooth complexion. Pumpkin is a powerful antioxidant due to its high Beta Carotene content. It is also a natural exfoliator.
Pumpkin Enzymes: These help break down dead skin cells for a soft, smooth finish.
Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin): This is an exfoliation accelerator, a powerful antioxidant, and a mild retinoic acid substitute. Pumpkin Puree is a rich source of vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, nutrients and enzymes. Pumpkin gently exfoliates the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines, age spots and rough skin. It helps to minimize the appearance of skin imperfections while stimulating the production of new and healthy skin cells.
Lactic Acid: Traditionally lactic acid is produced through fermentation of plant derived carbohydrates. Arginine is a natural amino acid that is derived from numerous vegetable sources such as: wheat germ, buckwheat, oatmeal, nuts, seeds. Lactic Acid/Arginine complex is a proprietary amphoteric blend that is designed to time–release lactic acid allowing for virtual elimination of irritation that is generally associated with AHAs. The known benefits of AHA include exfoliation, moisturization, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, skin firming and brightening.
Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Ferment Extract: A proteolitic fraction of the fermented fruit of Cucurbia genus (pumpkin) and Lactobaccilus lactis. The released proteases (enzymes that breakdown proteins) are then used in cosmetics for gentle skin exfoliation and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
Cinnamomum Zeylanicum (cinnamon) Bark Extract: Derived from the Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Tree, the bark extract is known for its antimicrobial and astringent properties.
Rosmarinus Officinalis (rosemary) Leaf Extract: The extract obtained from the leaves of the Mediterranean rosemary plant has stimulating and antioxidant properties. Helps to tighten skin.
Thymus Vulgaris (thyme) Flower/Leaf Extract: Thyme Extract is used to help refresh and soothe irritated and sensitive skin. It is also believed to possess powerful antiseptic properties.
Origanum Vulgare (oregano) Leaf Extract: Oregano or Origanum Vulgare is native to Europe, the Mediterranean and southern and central Asia. It is a perennial herb with purple flowers and leaves that have aromatic, warm and slightly bitter taste. Oregano has excellent antioxidant activity, due to its high content of phenolic acids and flavonoids. Additionally, oregano has demonstrated antimicrobial and antiseptic properties

Inner Kallia Green Tea Modeling Mask (Korea) Well, this is one way to shut me up!! Perhaps it will be a great tool to help lose weight too! ahaha This is not exactly a wash off mask, but it is a peel off one, and I will have scrubs and peel offs as well as wash off masks in my digest. Yes, my face is melting with the rubber-type mask that I received in my Miss Tutii bag and decided to try it out tonight — while catching up on the Vikings… These modeling packs are messy and inconvenient to use, that is for sure and are very time consuming for me (the clean up!) You just dump the powder in a bowl, mix with water until you get a paste and then slather on your face and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes before peeling it off. This has a strange earthy scent to it ~ from the DE and green tea ingredients, I am sure ~ I can see the flecks of green tea powder in this grayish-green mask. This mask is for blemish prone, rough, dull skin and will moisturize and bring elasticity back to your skin. I slowly removed this when it has dried to a rubber mask, and peeled it off, starting at my forehead. I always have to use a ton of water and cleansing tissues to get all of the bits off as these masks are stubborn suckers. At the end, all these do (for me at least) is remove all of the dirt, excess oil and leave my skin feeling very cool and moist. Not much else. They are fun to use but messy. Very messy.. so they aren’t my favorite thing to put on my face. It is cool to look at the mask when you remove it, as you can see the impression from the texture of your skin as it molded to the inside of the mask. Do you use modeling masks? I honestly think these are used in horror movies as makeup! Or the inspiration for these masks came from watching horror movies

boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment I love the “black” product line from boscia ~ their Detoxifying Black Cleanser and Luminizing Black Mask are wonderful luxury items for me and I love their blotting papers! I received this deluxe size sample when I did a mini-haul with Sephora. This is a charcoal detox mask and it has two swirls of product ~ one with activated bamboo charcoal, and that is in the “black” side of the mask ~ that will remove dirt, excess oil and other debris in your skin. The “white” side has Binchotan white charcoal powder ~ a Japanese charcoal that comes from Ubame Oak trees and it helps purify and will help balance your moisture/oil ratio in your skin. Kaolin clay is in both sides and we know that helps absorb oil and dirt, sloughs off dead skin cells from your skin. This also has jojoba and rose geranium oil, which helps keep your face moisturized and reduces inflammation. This mask is supposed to help minimize the appearance of pores while moisturizing, hydrating, balancing and refining your skin. I hated to dig into the little tub and mess up the swirls! The scent is like their other products from the “Black” series, which is a bit funky smelling ~ Boscia does not not add artificial fragrances so don’t expect this to smell like a rose garden (thank goodness!) It is not that unpleasant and I quickly get over the scent. It is very easy to apply this mask ~ I just use my mask spatula and dip it in, picking up both black & white product and then applying it to my face, mixing the two products together (the beauty of grey.…)
This clay mask doesn’t dry down (hence the name pudding!) so you don’t get the cracking or excess dryness as you might with other traditional clay masks. After 30 minutes, I rinsed off with warm water ~ my pores around my nose do look more smaller which is very nice! But my pores around my forehead in the T-Zone were not minimized, so boo-hiss. I have bangs, so no will notice except me ~ heck, most of our “imperfections” are only noticed by ourselves! I feel I have horrible hyper-pigmentation, but no one in RL thinks I do!! My face feels refreshed and not oily, not dry or stripped and it looks clearer. I like that this can be used as a spot treatment as well, as I don’t normally need to do a full face with clay masks and this one is pricey!! I am not sure why they did the swirly thing if we are supposed to mix them together. It isn’t like they have the sides separated. I think they did this to make it look zen, but really, they could have mixed it all together, but then you would have a grey mask without the really cool photo ops ~ their ad shows a beautiful woman with the mask on, but not mixed ~ the mask is separated on her face in targeted areas ~ which you cannot do the way this product is designed in the tub and also, boscia states to mix it together.
Description: This decadent treatment is formulated with the power of black and white charcoal and the added benefits from Kaolin Clay to detoxify and cleanse the skin and pores deeply without irritation. The formula also moisturizes, balances, and hydrates for a clearer, more refined, stronger, and healthier looking complexion. This product is also free of preservatives, phthalates, sulfates, parabens, artificial fragrances and colors, gluten, and ethanol alcohol. It is dermatologist tested and can be used as a full facial or a spot treatment.

Balanced Guru Astringent Masque Organic Citrus & Kelp Facial Masque This is my last organic DIY mask from Balanced Guru. I have oily skin so, it makes sense! This has an oatmeal base, which will help soothe and calm your skin and it contains 3 products that will control your oil production in your skin ~ lemon verbena, lemongrass and lemon peel. I can really smell the lemon verbena in this product when I open the jar up ~ it is very refreshing. Also included are kelp and sea buckthorne, which will help detox your skin and bring it back to balance. I didn’t smell the fishy scents of kelp & sea buckthorne until this mask was mixed with water ~ ahh, too bad the refreshing citrus scent didn’t last! This mask does dry down and tighten on my skin a bit and it does have a bit of an itchy feeling which I didn’t get from either the calming or antioxidant masks. This does have bentonite in it, which will also draw out impurities, and that normally would be the culprit, but the other two masks had that ingredient as well. Maybe it is a combination of the ingredients in this mixture. It isn’t that uncomfortable but I was glad to rinse this mask off my face after 30 minutes. My face did feel smoother and more “tight” but not dried out. I think out of the 3 Balanced Guru masks I tried, the spicy clove-cinnamon mixture of the Antioxidant version is my favorite, with the Calming second and this one is my least favorite, but only because the fishy scent was so strong. Honestly, all three are great skincare masks. I will be purchasing the full size Antioxidant once I finish with my travel size ~ have you tried any of the Balanced Guru Masques? They have a 4th one, but since it has rose in it, I decided to skip that one ~ that was the Moisturizing mask.

Wei Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask This is the second pod from my Wei mask sampler set that I purchased at Birchbox. This is Wei’s mud mask and it is an ultra soft mask, that will help detox, clean your skin without drying. It has pure China clay which will help absorb debris, dead skin cells and excess oil. It also has Golden Root (Rhodiola Rosea) which contains antioxidants to help repair skin damage. Reishi mushroom is also a fine antioxidant as it will help soft fine lines and wrinkles and angelica root will help reduce hyper-pigmentation so skin is brightened. This looks like Nutella when I open up the pod, but it is scentless so no chocolate scent here. I used the brush that came with the set and it applied so smoothly on my skin, I felt like I was painting on my face! This does dry down but without tightening the skin or making my skin feeling itchy. It dries down to a smooth finish that is not sticky and after 25 minutes, I rinsed off with warm water. This mask really does make my skin feel very smooth and wow, it does minimize my pores quite a bit! My face looks clean and refreshed. I haz sad cause these are so expensive – one pod is like $8.00. These are REALLY nice and if you want a luxury mud mask, this one is it. I am sure this works wonders on dry and sensitive skin as it was so gentle on my skin, but effective.
Description: This super soft facial mud mask is formulated with seven herbs led by Golden Root that deeply penetrate into skin and help counteract cell damage. It minimizes pores, diminishes breakouts, refines skin texture, and renews lifeless-looking skin.

Deco Naturals Prickly Pear + Aloe Mask I received this DIY mask in my Kloverbox last year and it is made with just a few ingredients. This mask is a cleansing mask which soothes and detoxes the skin. Prickly Pear is full of vitamin B, which helps the epidermis retain moisture, resulting in softer and smoother skin with less noticeable fine lines and wrinkles. Prickly Pear also is high in antioxidants, is an anti-inflammatory and contains amino acids and other nutrients. Chamomile and Aloe help soothe, moisturize and heal your skin, while the white kaolin clay is a powerful detox and removes excess oil and unclogs pores. This is 100% natural, vegan, cruelty free and made in the USA but alas, Deco Naturals closed their doors last year. I have 1/2 a bottle left of this and I wish they still had their shop, as I wanted to purchase their other DIY mask (lemon + sea salt) You can use water (which I did here) or yogurt for soothing/exfoliating or honey for nourishing/combating blemishes & rashes. This mask is scentless and once mixed, it is creamy smooth. After 20 minutes, it is pretty much dry and flaking everywhere 😀 so I rinse off with warm water and pat dry. I have a nice blemish on my nose and this really helped reduce the redness. This mask is simple, but effective, in making my skin feel clean and removing excess dirt and oil . I guess I could make my own mask because it is just a few ingredients and it looks simple.. but I have so many other masks and this one is taking me a long time to get thru

nügg Beauty Exfoliating Mask Cranberry Seed Oil & Jojoba Beads I have several nügg washoff masks and I chose the exfoliating one the other day to try. This mask contins lactic acid and apple extracts, which will naturally exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells by breaking down the protein strands that hold them to you skin. It also contains Jojoba beads which will stimulate your skin as you massage this product. Cranberry seed oil is moisturizing and full of antioxidants, full of omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9. To my sadness, this was not a pink mask (I thought that with cranberries, it would be reddish-pink) but a creamy white mask that does not smell like cranberries (another sad). I massaged the mask into my face for a minute and then left on for 10 minutes before rinsing off. Due to the moisturizing ingredients of not only the cranberry seed oil, but aloe vera, glycerin, and oils of olive, linseed, rosehip, primrose and starflower, this mask does not dry out or strip your skin. The jojoba beads were gentle and I never felt this mask was harsh on my face, yet it did a nice job gently exfoliating and my skin does look brighter and clean, but moisturized. These pods are really nice and nügg has several different varieties ~ I think I have all of them except the shea butter(too rich!!) and so far, the ones I have tried, I do like a lot! This is made with 93% natural or naturally derived ingredients, hypoallergenic and petrochemicals, alcohol, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colors, sulfates and paraben
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Lactic Acid, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Jojoba Esters, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Benzylalcohol, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (cranberry) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (linseed) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (grape) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xanthan Gum, Pyrus Malus (apple) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Hydrogenated Phosphatidylcholine, Hydroxylated Lecithin, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Oenothera Biennis (evening Primrose) Seed Oil, Borago Officinalis (starflower) Seed Oil cosDNA.com analysis
Shea Terra Organics Black Seed Honey & Mud Beauty Masque I love Shea Terra products and I did recently purchase this Black Seed Honey & Mud mask. This is made with Egyptian black seed honey, which helps nourish your skin, moisturize and also is an antibacterial so that it helps reduce blemishes and other skin issues. There is also black seeds which will help exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. It also contains ghassool, which is Moroccan lava clay, which detoxes, heals and softens your skin. Sidr leaf has astringent properties, calendula has anti-inflammatory and this has myrrh essential oil for anti-aging. You can see the bits of ground of seed and petals in this mask. This smells wonderfully earthy-honey and it is sweet (real honey! it dripped in my mouth) This is a very messy mask, as the honey is sticky and will drip, but it is also a fun mask because of the texture and scent. Leave on for 20 minutes (it does slightly heat up due to the honey) and then rinse off, massaging the mask into your skin ~ it actually comes off a lot easier than I would have thought! My face is bright, refreshed and healthy looking, as the honey is very moisturizing. I highly recommend checking out Shea Terra’s products ~ they have other masks: Chocolate & Rose Hips, Moroccan Lave Rose-Vedic Blemish Relief, Marula Silky Mud, Baobab & Banana, Maracuja Silky Mud, African Earth & Sea Detoxifying Mineral as well as shampoos, mud-poos, body scrubs, facial products and baby products. Shea Terra has a social mission as well – they have been helping native Africans to preserve wildlife habitats by using their indigenous ingredients in their products.

I’m From Honey Mask (Korea) This is my second jar that I purchased from Wishtrend. This is a deeply moisturizing and hydrating wash off mask that is made with real 38.7% herbal honey from Jiri Werl-Peyung Village in Korea. It looks like whipped honey and it smells just like honey too. This mask is so moisturizing and yes, even us oily-skinned gals need some deep moisturizing facial treatments. Honey is also great for treating acne, blemish prone skin, as it is a great anti-bacterial product. This also has propolis in it, which also helps combat oil and bacteria on your skin. This also has bee venom which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. You can leave it on for as little as 10 minutes or as long as one hour ~ I usually leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. This mask never dries on your face and will be sticky ~ my face does feel more hydrated and I noticed that a blemish-to-be was reduced in size ~ maybe it will go back into hibernation! I really like this mask a lot!
If you have never registered with Wishtrend before, please feel free to use my friend referral code ~ 092847308 ~ when you register ~ as you will get a $5.00 coupon to use! Also, keep your welcome email, because there will be other coupons in there, like a free shipping coupon for orders $50.00 and cash vouchers as well

I’m From Vitamin Tree Mask (S.Korea) This is another wash off mask that I purchased from Wishtrend and have NEVER USED. So today will be the big day that I use it! Vitamin Tree is actually Sea Buckthorn ~ it took me forever to figure that one out!! This contains 11.5% of sea buckthorn (hippophae rhamnoides) leaves and 50.46% sea buckthorn leaf tea, which I assume is water and leaves brewed together ~ so there isn’t plain ol’ water in here, but there is water ~ it just has been infused with the sea buckthorn. The organically grown leaves are directly supplied by from Byeong-Pung Village, Taebaek Mt. in South Korea. Sea Buckthorn contains vitamins C, A and E, beta carotene, minerals, amino acids and fatty acids. Vitamin C is important for brightening and stimulating collagen production. It contains 200 to 800 times more vitamins than apples. Sea Buckthorn is known for its antioxidant properties to help slow down aging and to regenerate new skin cells, while penetrating deep into your derma layer and locking moisture inside. Normally, sea buckthorn would have a fishy odor, but I am SO happy to say this mask does not have that scent ~ it is more like old brewed tea, which is fine. The color is a dark vomit greenish brown that when it dries, it is dark brown. The mask is a thick one and doesn’t have water in it, so can drop off in clumps while you are applying it ~ I just pick up the clumps and smooth it back into place.
This mask is rich in vitamins and it is a detox, purifying mask that will also soothe and calm your skin. It is also supposed to brighten your skin as well ~ but I have only used it once, so I cannot say what the long term benefits are using this mask. I will say that after keeping this mask on for 20 minutes, it was still soft ~ it does dry down, but not hard or cake-y ~ just a different color ~ you can see that the moisture has been sucked out of the mask, but it is still supple on my face. Rinse VERY WELL. In fact, I would recommend using this mask before you shower, because it does take a bit of work to remove all traces of it. I don’t think this cleaned out my pores that well, but I will say that my pores looked smaller after using this mask. The redness on my nose zit is lessened. I like this mask well enough to continue using it and I will see if it helps clear out my pores better with future attempts.

I do plan to continue my series of wash-off mask packs, but I just had so many of them right now, that I thought it would be good to post this digest so it is not an never-ending blog post! I have linked the product name to a store where you can purchase these masks and if they are popular, you probably can find them at other online sites as well.
Have you tried any of these masks? Which one(s) would you like to try?
