Unboxing October 2015 Kloverbox + Promo!

The month of October saw a late arrival of Kloverbox and I just received it last night.  I was pretty excited to get it, as last month was not very suitable for me ~ even though it was very popular with other subscribers, it just wasn’t for me.  Let’s see if this month makes up for last!  Kloverbox delivers deluxe and full size products and I have been impressed with their packaging and curating of their boxes.   Kloverbox is an eco-friendly subscription that you can subscribe month-to-month at $25/monthly, 3 month subscription at $23.75/monthly or a 6 month subscription at $22.50/monthly

This month’s theme is  “A Pinch of Patience”  A Pinch of Patience, A Dash of Kindness, A Spoonful of Laughter and a Heap of Love!  This month features innovative women businesses!

Foxy & Winston Organic Kitchen Towel ~ randomly selected from 4 designs.  I received a fantastic botanical print of green artichokes against a white background.  This is a hand-painted(!) 100% GOTS Certified Organic, cotton material and it is designed in Red Hook, Brooklyn and made via Fair Trade in India.   This is so wonderful and it is made with water based, non toxic inks and Jane Buck, the textile artist and designer, uses screen printing and letterpress techniques to produce these great towels.  The other designs had a hedgehog and I will have to look into those, as I also love a bit of whimsy in my kitchen towels!  Of course, this is almost too good to use ~ but I know that I have family that would love to own some of these towels.  This also has a hanging loop as well, which is very handy.  Dimensions: 18 X 27 inches  RV $16.00

Red Flower Hand & Face Towelettes  I have tried Red Flower’s Italian Blood Orange Towelettes in the past and Red Flower likes to use unusual scent combinations together.   Red Flower is a company that specializes in aromatherapy spa products.  Italian Blood Orange contains pink grapefruit, blood orange and orange blossom essential oils to cleanse and moisturize.  I have not tried their Wanderlust scent and this one does sound fantastic ~ Hinoki Cypress, Gurjum Balsam resin, vertivert grass, red cedarwood atlas,  mandarin rind and cistus rockrose essential oils.   RV $1.50

Bee’s Wrap Sandwich Wrap in Clover Print This is the most unusual item in this box and I think this is such a great idea! This is made from cotton but has a coating of beeswax, organic jojoba oil and tree resin, to keep the cloth waterproof and protect your food. The organic coating also is an anti-bacterial, so it will ensure that your food does not get any pesky microscopic travelers if wrapped properly. The texture of this wrap is almost a bit like an old fashioned oil cloth, which was made with linseed oil, and I think that Bee’s Wraps might have gotten inspiration from that concept.

Beeswax is water-repellent and has natural antibacterial properties ~ once it is applied to the cotton material, it makes the material “unbreathable”, and that is why it is excellent for storing food, as it maintains the appropriate moisture content.  This is a fantastic alternative to plastic wrap!   Plus, look at this design ~ just really nice clover drawing on a dark lavender background and the cutest bee wooden button to help keep your wrap secure!    This does have a strong beewax and resin scent when you first open up the package, but I didn’t find it unpleasant at all.  It reminds me of old libraries 🙂  I will have no issues wrapping food with this item and it does look like it can handle larger food items besides a sandwich.   To clean, just use cold water with soap and then hang to dry.  This should last for a year with proper care and it is biodegradable, so it can be thrown in the trash.    Bee’s Wrap makes these in other designs and different sizes too.  Dimensions 13″ X 13″ RV $10.00

About Bee’s Wax: Bee’s Wrap’s products are reusable, biodegradable and compostable.  We pay careful attention to our ingredients and materials used in our production process from start to finish, always striving to do a little better.  Our fabric and printing is GOTS certified, our beeswax is sourced from sustainably kept hives and we use only organic jojoba oil.  Our packaging is recyclable and plastic free.  Occasionally you may see some plastic in our packaging- this is ALWAYS because we are reusing something that was sent to us. Our product packaging is 100% recycled.  Bee’s Wrap strives to close the loop, minimizing waste by reuse.

Goodie Girl Go-Paks Quinoa Choco Chip Cookies ~  I am really mad and upset about this product.  Why? Because there is only one bag of these cookies!  These are really GOOD and I wanted more after I finished this bag in a few seconds!  The cookies don’t look like much to talk about, but they are light, crispy, have the right amount of sweetness and chocolate to them.  They are very yummy and are made with Quinoa, which is an ancient grain used by the Aztecs.  Quinoa is one of the world’s healthiest foods, as it contains oleic acid and omega-3 fatty acid and alpha-linolenic acids ~  all heart healthy fats!   It also contains a variety of antioxidants and is a rich source of nutrients.  That said, all I care about is that these taste great and I have to get some more!!  1 oz bag RV $1.00

And finally, as Kelly is just wonderful, she sent me a replacement candle for last month’s candle, as that scent was just awful to mine nose!   This one is just amazing ~ Sea Salt & Sage and it is fresh and clean.  Great scent and what I expect from Paddywax.

Paddywax  Apothecary Travel Tin Candle ~    This candle is from their Old World Apothecary line, and they have 8 different fragrances.   This travel candle is made from soy wax and will have a burn time of 15 hours  Travel Tin 2 oz RV $5.00

I love this month’s Kloverbox!!  I know that there wasn’t any beauty products, but the last few months have been really heavy on skincare and really lite on lifestyle products, so I am thrilled to get some useful and beautiful items in this box.   I am really intrigued by the Bee’s Wrap product and I love my kitchen towel, which is just TOO good to use!!  It is so pretty and I love the design.   The cookies are a real find and I wonder if Whole Foods carries them (note to myself to check that out).

I paid $18.00 due to a promo code + 6 month subscription and received a value of $28.50 and for me, this month is so much better than last month.  Sometimes, you don’t need a high value box to really appreciate wonderful, eco-friendly and organic products made by people who care about the environment and what goes back into the ground.  These types of products were the reason why I was drawn to Kloverbox in the first place!  Unusual products that I wouldn’t normally think to look for and purchase on my own.    Do you subscribe to Kloverbox?  What was your favorite product this month?

Current Promo:  Use BFFM10 to save 10% off any length subscription.  One and three month terms automatically renew, the six month is a one time purchase.   The monthly subscription has an option to skip a month!
