Sweet Honey! InstaReview on Papa Recipe BomBee Honeyed Pudding Set + Bombee Honey Mask

I do have a great affection and love for honey based products.   My very first box that I purchased at Memebox was the Superbox #19 Honey Box and I still mourn that I cannot find that wonderful Propolis Ampoule that they had in that box.    I  noticed about a month ago that Memebox started carrying some new honey products by a brand that I was not that familiar with, Papa Recipe.  These were very affordable, so I did purchase the BomBee Honeyed Pudding Set and BomBee Honey Mask.  I have had the opportunity to use these items and would like to give an InstaReview on them.

Papa Recipe BomBee Honeyed Pudding Set   This two piece set contains a facial peel off mask and then a lovely “pudding” cream that you would apply afterwards.    I was really interested in Papa Recipe’s BomBee products because they contain several ingredients that my skin really likes

  • Honey (of course!) Honey has antibacterial properties, that can speed up healing in your skin ~ think acne, rashes, cuts ~ and prevent additional infection.  The wonderful texture of honey will keep moisture close to your skin, which makes for a glowing and radiant complexion.  Not only does honey keep moisture in your skin, but it is humectant, which means it attracts moisture too!   Honey is also an antioxidant, which means it helps repair and combat any damage caused by free radicals and prevents premature wrinkling.  Both the Peel Off Mask and Pudding Cream contain 10,000 ppm of Honey
  • Propolis is a natural antibiotic that is produced by honey bees.  This ingredient is wonderful for those with blemish prone skin or have other skin issues, as it really helps heal your skin.
  • Papaya contains an enzyme called peptin, which is a natural exfoliator, making your skin smooth, vibrant and healthy.  Peptin cures a variety of skin issues, such as acne, dry skin and premature again.   Papaya also is an antioxidant, as it has Vitamins A, C and E along with carotenoids, helping to reduce inflammation of your skin, as well as nourishing it.

The peel off mask is a sight to behold ~ it is a clear mask which has wonderful sparkling gold particles in it.  I am not sure that I believe that gold is a wonderful skincare product, but it looks fabulous!  Gold is reported to help blood circulation, which in turn helps reveal glowing skin.     It has a slight scent of alcohol, but overall it does smell like sweet honey.   This mask goes on a thick sticky gel and I apply it to my T-Zone only.   After it dries down, about 15 to 20 minutes, I gently peel it off, removing dead skin cells, dirt and other waste materials.    I get a kick out of looking at my “lizard skin”, as I call it, with all of the gunk in it ~ haha.  I much prefer using a peel off mask than a pore nose strip, as this is more gentle in removing the gunk and you really do not want to peel it off, you could just wash it off instead

After I do this step, I then applied the Honey Mask (see review below) to give my skin an extra boost of moisturize and hydration before I apply the pudding cream.   The pudding cream is actually a memory gel ~ which means that this is more like a dense jelly and when you scoop out some of the gel,  the contents in the jar will smooth back over so that it looks like nothing has been removed.  I hope I explained that right!   This gel smells so wonderful, like light sweet honey, and I can easily spread it and apply it smoothly to my skin.  It takes about 5 minutes to 10 minutes to absorb completely into my skin.  This is not the most hydrating product I have used, as my skin analyzer shows about 44% for the water level, so if you feel you need more moisture, you can apply another layer of this product or a completely different one.   This actually could be a nice day time cream in the summer time,  as it is so light and non greasy.   The ingredients in this product contain antioxidants and nutrients to help keep your skin healthy and I love how it feels on my skin.  I did not experience any rashes or breakouts with using this cream.

I feel that this set is best suited for those with oily or combo-oily skin.  If you have dry skin, please note that the peel off mask has alcohol in it and that the pudding cream might not be hydrating enough for you.    Peel Off Pack 5o mL  Pudding Cream 25 mL RV $20.00

Papa Recipe BomBee Honey Mask  I actually used this mask between the treatments in the BomBee Honeyed Pudding Set.  After the peel off mask, I decided to put on this mask.   This smells like lovely sweet honey, just like the pudding cream and is soaked in essence.  The sheet mask itself is very sheer and thin, and has a plastic pearl paper to protect it from losing its shape and to help you place the mask on your face without tearing it.

This mask has 1,000 ppm of honey and also organic propolis extracts which are both moisturizing and also help control sebum.  Propolis is a fantastic antibacterial and has been called “bee penicillin” for its healing properties.   BomBee Honey Mask is made with organic ingredients, doesn’t contain any artificial preservatives and is also good for sensitive skin.

I was able to leave this mask on for 30 minutes with no problem and it was still slightly damp when I removed it.  Never leave a mask on until it is bone dry ~ unless you are a mask whisperer and know the exact second that the mask is dry but not so dry that it sticks to your skin,  you are best off removing it when it is still a little damp, so that the mask sheet doesn’t start drawing out the moisture and good oils from your skin, which will dry your skin out, negating any good that you just did with the mask treatment!   If you feel this is wasteful, take your damp mask and drape it over your legs, so they get the last bit of essence.

My face is still pretty moist after I remove the mask and it takes about 5 minutes for the essence to completely soak into my skin.  My moisture level after using this mask is almost at 47% afterwards.

This mask is currently on sale for $2.50
