Memebox Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Pack & Miraclear Facial Tool Initial Impressions!

As I am a Memebox Ambassador, I get some products at times to try out for you all!  These are items that may not be things I would normally purchase or they are new items ~ I am glad that Memebox sends me these products, as it does get me out of my comfort zone!

Memebox recently sent me two products ~ Too Cool for School Egg Mousse Pack and Miraclear Adjustable Facial Cleansing Tool.

Miraclear Adjustable Facial Cleaning Tool  I was initially confused how this worked!  I thought that you put cleanser in the little pump area and it would disperse the cleanser as you used it ~ hey, that is a great idea!  But no, that isn’t the case here with this cleaning tool.   I actually used the little silicon cleansing tools ~ I have received a couple of them in the past, like this one by Skinfood:

As you can see, the one above is very flexible and it can mold to the contours of your face, but it is also small and the “grippy” handle for my hand is too small as well, as this slips and slides out of my hand, not to mention, it lurks in the shower behind other products and is hard to find sometimes.

The Miraclear facial cleansing tool, on the other hand, is a good size ~ it can run, but it can’t hide in my shower  ~ and because the top of the product is made of a hard plastic and has a good handle, I can easily grip it even when it is wet and slippery with cleanser!   The bottom of the product, which is what you use to clean your face with, is covered with the little silicon brushes, which help gently clean your skin with less friction than most brushes, so it eliminates any skin damage that might occur by using this tool. Micaclear Cleansing tool also has an antibacterial surface so it ensures that it won’t spread any new germs onto your face, plus it will make sure it removes existing ones.

This product allows you to “inflate” the silicon brush, so that the bristles stick out more, which I guess helps clean even better.  How you do this is just lift up the top of the product from the handle.  Don’t remove it from the handle, as that means you broke it!

To inflate, move the pump up and down several times and you will see that the bottom of the brush will slowly expand in size.

Now apply cleanser to your face and use this tool to work that cleanser into your face and deep clean your skin.   After you are done using it, just rinse off and deflate the brush.  To deflate, just press down on the white tab on the top of the handle ~ I’ve drawn an arrow to it in the photo below

All this talk of pumping up reminds me of the old SNL classic…We are here to PUMP YOU UP!!

How it looks all together ~ deflated product, pump the applicator a few times and inflated brush

  • I like that the tool is large enough that I can find it in my shower.  The smaller silicon pads would fall behind other products and I wouldn’t find them unless I started moving a lot of products around (and I have a LOT OF products in my shower caddy!!)
  • The handle is solid plastic and is large enough to grip without it slipping out of my hands
  • The brush pad surface is large enough to easily cover my forehead, cheeks and chin efficiently
  • Gentle bristles are good for all skin types, including sensitive skin
  • Antibacterial surface

  • Due to the hard plastic and larger surface, this product does not mold to your skin, making smaller areas and folds on your face (like your nose area) hard to deep clean
  • I don’t understand the pumping concept

I do think this is a good brush to use for the larger areas of your face, but it does fail on the smaller, hard to reach areas, which is where dirt and oil reside and lurk.  I will use this brush, but I will have to also use my pore brush as well, to get into the nasal skin folds and side of my nose.    This is expensive as far as facial tools go, but it does have a unique concept and if they can figure out a way to make the brush more mold-able to your face, this would be even better!  Value $18.00

Too Cool for School Egg Mousse Pack I haven’t had a lot of luck with Too Cool for School products ~ I disliked their pumpkin facial mask and the egg facial sheet mask was a bit too strongly scented for me ~ but I just recently purchased their Morocco Ghassoul Creamy Mousse Pack and I really enjoy using it!    I wasn’t sure about this item, as the egg facial sheet mask is from the same line and was worried about the scent.   The Egg Mousse Pack has the same concept as the Morocco Ghassoul pack, so I was interested in seeing the difference between the two.   I am happy to report that the scent in this product is not strongly scented and is quite pleasant.

Too Cool for School Egg Mousse Pack is a wash off mask pack that contains egg whites (albumen),  which helps remove dead skin and tighten pores, while controlling sebum.  It also has 900 µg of egg yolks, which will hydrate and nourish your skin, leaving it soft and supple.   It is pigment and ethanol free, so it should be suitable for all skin types, unless you are allergic to eggs.

These mask packs in a can are very foamy ~ Egg Mousse Pack looks just like shaving cream and the application is very easy and non-messy.  You have to shake the can very vigorously for a minute and then dispense a SMALL amount of the product.  Too Cool for School says a ping pong size amount ~ NO!  That is too MUCH.  You only need half that size ~ seriously, you will waste a lot of product.    This feels very slick and smooth as you initially massage it into your face, but within a minute after you are done massaging, it will start to dissolve into your skin, using a bubbling action.  You can even see the bubbles form.

Leave on your skin for 15 to 20 minutes, so that the mousse can absorb into your skin.    At the end of the 20 minutes, your skin will feel sticky and tacky, but that is okay ~ you will rinse off the product anyway.   My skin feels so smooth and soft, very hydrated after I use this product.    Since you are to apply this on clean, dry skin, this is something that I would do as a weekly routine, as it might be too much time for the work week for me.   I did a pH level test and this looks to be between 6.5 and 7, so not too shabby!

Description: This wash off essence type pack is the perfect skin pick-me-up for anytime of the year. It forms a fine lather mousse that removes excessive sebum and impurities from your skin without that tight sensation. Whiten, brighten, nourish, and moisturize your skin with the protein and vitelline extracted from eggs to refine and create a radiant complexion.

Ingredients: water, betaine, butylene glycol, lauryl phosphate, isopentane, trehalose, carbon dioxide, arginine, potassium laureth phosphate, laureth-1 phosphate, polyglyceryl-10 laurate, egg yolk extract (900 µg),  albumen extract, dipropylene glycol, potassium hydroxide, glyceryl caprylate, caprylyl glycol, PPG-3 caprylyl ether, acrylates/C10-30 alkly acylate crosspolymer, sodium citrate, citric acid, xanthan gum, carbomer, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance analysis

  • Easy to use applicator, non-messy application
  • Feels really nice on the skin
  • Fun bubbling action
  • pH level is decent at 6.5 and 7
  • My skin feels hydrated and smooth afterwards

  • Can’t think of any!

I really like these wash off mask packs in a can by Too Cool for School.  If you are looking for something different that does work to hydrate, moisturize and cleanse your face, I recommend this product!  Two thumbs up and once this is gone, I will purchase it.  Full Size 100 mL Value $16.00

  1. I really want the TCFS product but I do have the facial cleanser, it’s kind of gimmicky but it does clean well and very gently. I found if I infkate it just a little it’s easier to clean smaller areas. Thanks as always for your thorough reviews!
