Memebox Under the Sea Box #MermaidCare Unboxing!

I love aquatic themed boxes, as I love deep sea water and seaweed products.  Memebox came out with “Under the Sea” themed box, whose selling point was including products that were ocean/water related.   I am looking forward to having some products with deep sea water in it.  Why?  This graphic explains it better than I can

I have a whole section in my blog,  devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.

Informational Card

SNP Pore Cleansing Foam Alginic Acid is extracted from brown seaweed and it will help remove debris and waste inside of your pores, while moisturizing your skin.  This also has mung beans (phaseolus radiatus) seed extracts, which help remove toxins and excess oil, while cleansing your skin and has a brightening effect on your skin.   Collagen is another ingredient that helps prevent aging, lessens the appearance of wrinkles and gives elasticity to your skin.    This foam has green granules in it, which help enhance the cleanser and aid in deep cleaning your pores. The word on the ‘nets is that this has a pH level of 7, but I haven’t personally tested it yet.  I do not have issues with going as high as pH 7, but I know others do, so I thought I would mention it.   Full Size 150 mL Value $20.00

Ingredients:  water, stearic acid, lauric acid, glycerin, potassium hydroxide, myristic acid, dipropylene glycol, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium lauryl sulfate, beeswax, butylene glycol, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, polysorbate 60, fragrance, phaseolus radiatus seed extract, hydrolyzed  collagen, alginic acid, lactose, celluose gum, chromium hydroxide green (CI 77289), tocopheryl acetate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, methylparaben, propylparaben, phenoxyethanol, sodium hyaluronate, BHT, disodium EDTA analysis

Secret Key Centella Hydrating Cream   I feel that this product shouldn’t be in here. It isn’t marketed as a cream with kelp extracts, but centella asiatiac and look at the ad’s – they have this product on EARTHY GROUND, not in water or anything.   It is almost like Memebox didn’t know what else to put in here ~ well, I have a short list at the end of this unboxing on products that they should have included.    This is a ‘balancing’ cream (whatever that means) that will soothe irritated skin.  It has a gel cream texture and contains a lot of botanical ingredients, but only one “Under the Sea” ingredient ~ this is more of a herbal cream.  This sounds like a cream that I would want to save for when my face is rough from the weather ~ too much sun, wind, cold and/or heat ~ it does appear to be an interesting product and I will save it for when my face is suffering from the elements.  Full Size 30 mL Value $9.40

Ingredients:   water, glycerin, butylene glycol, diglycerin, cyclopentasiloxane, polyacrylate-13, cetearyl alcohol, hydroxethylcellulose, glyceryl polyacrylate, dimethicone, Bis-PEG-18, methyl ether dimethyl silane, glyceryl stearate, polyisobutene,  polysorbate 20, centella asiatica extract, morus alba (mulberry) bark extract, honey extract, bambusa vulgaris (bamboo) water,  portulaca oleracea extract, ginkgo biloba nut extract, angelica gigas root extrat, paeonia lactiflora bark/sap extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, zizphus jujuba fruit extract, panax ginseng root extract, laminaria japonica (kelp) extract, punica grantum fruit extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, artemisia vulgaris extract, yeast extract, boswellia serrata resin extract, squalene, PEG-100 stearate, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, cyclohexasiloxane, tocopheryl acetate, caprylhydroxamic acid, caprylyl glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, disodium EDTA analysis

Missha Real Essential Sheet Mask Deep Sea Water    I love Skinfoods Deep Sea Brightening Facial masks, so I am looking forward to trying this one and comparing the two.   I normally have issues with Missha’s facial masks as they are usually too small for my face (the Pure Source), so I will see how this one fits.   At birth, our bodies are made of 75% saline (salt) water, which is full of minerals and other elements that aid in our growth and skin health.   As we get older, the level of saline water drops to about 40%.  Why do I mention this?  Because deep sea water’s mineral content mirrors what we had in our early years of development (the technical phrase is “isotonic ratio”)   Deep sea water allows our skin to absorb and filter these minerals and all of the beneficial nutrients it contains and our skin feels clearer, refreshed, soft and hydrated.   The salt in the sea water helps open up your pores and it aids in cleansing away any toxins, dirt and oil   I love these deep sea water masks and products so this is a very good product and the first one in this box that really fits the theme of “Under the Sea”.  Full Size Value $3.00

Description:  A solution for your skin’s needs and concerns. The soft sheet masks are soaked with highly enriched essences to quickly hydrate, soothe, and nourish the skin. The masks are made out of Japanese Cupro (high-density pure cotton). Deep Sea Water mask for an intensive moisturizing care. Contains vital minerals to hydrate the skin. The Deep Sea Water sheet mask adds intensive moisture and vital minerals making the face look fuller, resulting in less noticeable wrinkles, and a youthful glow. Deep sea water essence is the main ingredient of the moist mask, completely responsible for rejuvenation and hydration.

Botanic Farm Polar Energy Hydrogel Mask Pack: Salmon Egg  I happen to like Botanic Farms ~ it is a fairly new company to me and I have tried a few of their products because I had purchased the Botanic Farms box in the past.  This is a hydrogel mask that will deliver the unique nutrients to your skin ~ salmon egg extract (1,000ppm) and allantoin, along with black bean, licorice, ginder, sesame seed, rice and other herbal extracts, will help with anti-wrinkling and brightening your skin tone.  This mask will help even out your skin tone while improving elasticity for firmer, supple skin with reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles   Full Size Value $5.00

Lioele Seaweed Mist The box ends on a top note ~ Lioele has a seaweed line that is really nice ~ I own the sleeping pack and this mist and they are really refreshing in the summer time.   This mist contains 90% of seaweed water, which soothes your skin, as well as moisturizing it ~ four different types of seaweed/algae are include:  sea grape, nori, green algae and kelp. It also contains some astringent and pore tightening ingredients in the willow and witch hazel extracts.   This facial mist is also gentle enough  for babies!  Lioele Seaweed mist has a nice light fresh scent, nothing overpowering.  It doesn’t smell like seaweed.  I happen to use this all over my body as well, as it is so refreshing and moisturizing.  Full Size 150 mL Value $16.80

Ingredients: caulerpa lentillifera (sea grape seaweed) extract, porphya tenera (nori/red algae) extract, chlorella vulgaris (green algae) extract, laminaria japonica (kelp/brown algae) extract, butylene glycol, pentylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, phenoxyethanol, betaine, allantoin, sodium citrate, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, citric acid, disodium EDTA, portulaca oleracea extract, poncirus trifoliata (hardy orange) fruit extract, hamamelis viginiana (witch hazel) water, salix alba (willow) bark extract, eucalyptus globulus leaf extract, PEG-8, PEG-8/SMDI copolymer, piper methysticum (kava-kava) leaf/root/stem extract, hydrolyzed algin, zinc sulfate analysis

My thoughts on this box ~ it is okay, but a big bland.  It could have used more thoughtful curation ~   centella cream (which sounds really nice) had no business being in here, where there are many other “sea” themed K-Beauty products out there:

Skinfood makes a whole line of “water” products ~ from masks, to toners to multi-purpose gels.  I would have loved to see one of the multi-purpose gels from either the Glacier, Deep Sea or Thermal Waters line.

Lioele Hydro Peel Therapy Line ~ contains marine collagen, algae extract and deep sea water ~ this line includes a toner, lotion, cream, mist and essence. What is Deep Sea Water? It is the name for cold and salty water found deep down below 200 meters from the surface of Sea.   In the true sense of the word, it means the water mass around Greenland and North Atlantic regions and around the Antarctic continent, where seawater is cooled and goes down below 500~1,000 meters, forming Earth-scale large flow of water.

D’RAN Aqua Wonder Line delivers moisture of Alaska glacier water to quench dried and stressed skin. Sea Complex formulated with 7 kinds of sea plant extracts, NMF (natural moisture factor) and effective active natural ingredients hydrate thirsty skin for moisturized complexion. This ultra moisture aqua line basically builds up defensive power against dryness by strengthening skin barrier and intensively improves discoloration for brighter and radiant looking.  This line has a toner, serum, lifting cream and eye cream, which we did receive in a previous Memebox.

Missha Super Aqua I mean, this, along with the Skinfood line, is a no brainer!

It would have been good to replace the centella cream and pore cleanser (as it only had one sole ingredient dealing with this theme) and also add another product with some of the products I mentioned above, as I felt that this box was a bit too light and needed an additional item.   I will use all of the products and the Lioele Mist is really good, but this box did not meet my expectations for the theme given.   I paid $25.00 for this box and  received a MemeValue of $54.40.  This box is still available if, after reading this unboxing, you still wish to purchase it!

Did you purchase the Under the Sea Box?   What did you think of it?
