Unboxing Memebox April Showers Value Set

Memebox is currently offering some April Value sets, which have a theme of April Showers

I chose April Showers, which is currently sold out.  However, they do have the some of the April Showers Value Sets available.   The Showers Set really got my attention, even though I probably do not need another facial cleanser!!  However, I am a huge fan of Skinfood and Secret Key products and the Honey Bee’s AC line is just fabulous – I have used their foaming cleanser, facial mist and spot treatment and I do not mind using bar soap, as I have a bubble net that I use to keep it nice and “fresh”.

Skinfood Coffee Body Scrub  I have owned this in the past and this body scrub not only works quite well, it smells wonderful ~ a very sweet coffee scent.   Makes me wish I had a Caffè Latte just about now.  You can see the coffee grounds in the scrub and this is not a harsh scrub.  It has shea butter and glycerin as well as honey extracts, to really help moisturize while the coffee bits, sugar and salt exfoliate dead skin and leave your skin feeling smooth.    Full Size 155  g  Retail Value $13.90

Description: Coffee is known for its exceptional antioxidizing properties to promote better and healthier skin. Skinfood’s Coffee Body Scrub mainly contains of high class coffee beans perfectly granulated to be gentle on the skin. This coffee scrub also has a unique blend of brown sugar, salt and natural sweet honey to fully nourish the skin while gently exfoliating dead skin cells

How To Use:  Mix desired amount in hand with small amount of body cleanser or water and then apply to rough skin area while wet. Massage gently for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly with water.  This is highly concentrated so be sure to mix with water or cleanser.  Use 1-2 times per week

Ingredients: PEG-40, Sucrose, Glycerin, PEG-75, Isopropyl Myristate, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Powder, Sodium Chloride (salt), Polysorbate 20, Dimethicone, Butyrosperumum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Petrolatum, Honey Extract, Methyparaben, Butylparaben, Fragrance cosDNA.com analysis

Secret Key Honey Bee’s AC Control Soap  I am a HUGE fan of Secret Key’s Honey Bee’s AC line ~ their Facial Mist made one of my first “favorite things” blog posts here.   I have used their foaming cleanser, the above mentioned facial mist and their spot (zit) treatment with great success.   This soap is made with tea tree, salicylic acid and bee venom, which helps clear up and heal acne, as well as preventing new pimples from forming.    This has a nice scent to it, which is probably due to the herbal ingredients.

This soap has some pretty good ingredients

  • Natural bee venom, tea tree oil and salicylic acid help clear up, heal and prevent acne
  • Castor Oil helps control oil production by providing a barrier and also soothes skin
  • Palm Oil and Lavender are cooling and relieve skin redness, while providing moisture
  • Mugwort extracts are anti-inflammatory and help brighten skin
  • Vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant

I know many do not like bar soaps, but I use a bubble net ~ you can make your own by just getting some thin nylon mesh and closing off one end, pop your soap into the open end and I like to close off that end as well ~ so that the soap is securely positioned in the mesh net.   Add a loop to the top of it so that it can be hung up ~ so that the soap will dry ~ and you have a bubble net!  The soap lathers up nicely within a bubble net and then since it dries hanging, there won’t be any melted soap mess.  Full Size 100 g Retail Value $7.50

Description: This soap mainly contains natural bee venom, tea tree oil and salicylic acid which are distinctly known for effectively eliminating pimples and other skin troubles. It also contains Castor Oil which helps control excessive sebum while soothing irritated skin.

How to use: Wash your face with the Honey Bee’s AC Control Soap until it forms a lather. Gently massage it all over the face for 30 seconds and leave it for 1 to 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil,  Palm Oil (fat), Bee Venom, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Aloe Barbadensis, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Hyaluronic Acid, Leptospermum Petersonii (Lemon Tee Tree) Oil, Artemisia Vulgaris (Mugwort) Powder, Propolis Extract  cosDNA.com analysis

Tonymoly Timeless Ferment Snail Foam Cleanser ~ I have never tried a Snail Filtrate cleanser before (let alone a fermented snail slime cleanser) and this was the product that made this value set so attractive to me.   I already knew I would like the Skinfood and Secret Key items, but this one?    This is made with GOLDEN snail slime (10,000ppm), which is 20% of the product ~ not to be mistaken for other types of dull color snail slime ~ haha.   This is a huge tube of cleanser and I hope it will work nicely and not have a really high pH value.  This also contains papaya extract, whose enzyme is fantastic for exfoliating, and there are a lot of citrus ingredients in here ~ orange, lime, lemon and bergamot ~ as well as eucalyptus and cactus extracts.  I am not sure why the snail slime is “golden” but it is full of vitamin C extracts.      Full Size 150 mL Retail Value $24.00

Description: This cleanser effectively removes impurities and excessive sebum while repairing damaged skin with its fortified golden snail slime filtrate (10,000ppm). Specially formulated to improve the skin’s general condition, this cleanser helps with the regeneration of new skin cells to be able to produce a healthier and more radiant skin layer. With its golden tea extracts and collagen content, this gives proper hydration and oil balance to the skin. This is also highly recommended to people with sensitive skin as this is free of parabens, artificial colors, fragrance, urea, benzophenone, triclosan, triethanolamine, sulfate surfactant, talc and tar color.

Ingredients: Purified water, Glycerin, Palmitic Acid, Lauric Acid, Stearic Acid, PEG-32, Potassium Hydroxide, Myristic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine,  Calcium Stearate, TEA-Lauryl Sulfate,  Snail Secretion Filtrate, PEG-100 Stearate, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Opuntia Ficus-Indica (cactus) Extract,  Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa (cypress) Water, Centella Asiatica Extract, Beta-Glucan, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Pinus Sylvestris (scots pine) Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Sodium Chloride, Arachidic Acid, Capric Acid,Polyquaternium-7, Acrylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride/Acrylamide Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin  cosDNA.com analysis
