Memebox Special #78 Hot & Cool Cosmetics Review

This box was part of the last bundles sold in October and then Memebox decided to starve their customers of new boxes and bundles ~ for two months now, we have gotten only a few boxes here and there.   I am glad I did get this box and the Garden of Eden box that was bundled with it ~ that will be my next review.    There was tons of speculation about these boxes, either they were going to great or horrible!

Memebox Special #78 Hot & Cool Cosmetics

As Katy Perry puts it, we’ve “got a case of beauty bi-polar.” For those of us who are as fickle as a pickle and “change our mind like a girl changes clothes,” Memebox presents the dynamic Hot & Cool Cosmetics box. This box is packed with a double dose of mega-beauty – heating and cooling cosmetics – to treat and care for skin, body, and hair. Steam and heat technology provides gentle all-around care by cleansing clogged pores, exfoliating the skin, providing deep nourishment to damaged hair, and helping the body beat bloat. Cooling cosmetics are enriched with crisp and fresh ingredients that minimize the look of enlarged pores, revitalize exhausted and dull skin, and deliver a refreshing punch of cool beauty. Grab this box because when “you’re hot and then cold,” You’re yes then you’re still yes.

Informational Card

As these products are unknown to me and perhaps even to my readers, I am posting a description of the product under my thoughts for every product.  Normally, I just do a snippet or if it is a product that doesn’t really need a description, I won’t post it.  But for the purposes of my Memeboxes, I will make sure I find the appropriate description, usage and ingredient list if I can find it.   The descriptions will be from the webpage that is linked to the product name.  Not all of these products are sold in the Memebox Shop, so I had to look for them on various sites.   I really had a hard time finding these products, by the way, so don’t be thrown off by the Korean websites that are linked here!

Lailly +36.5 Steam Pore Pack  This is a repeat item, as I received it in my  Superbox #36 Pore 3, but this is a product that is well liked by MemeCustomers.   I actually prefer the Lailly -36.5 Cooling Pore Pack myself, as I like cooling products overall. However, this is a good product and it is a heating pack, and its heat acts like “steam” and opens up pores to help remove any excess dirt and oil.  Full Size 50 g Value $28.00

Product Description: This formula was clinically developed to help fight all common skin concerns including breakouts, excessive sebum, black and white heads and in-grown hair. Enriched with strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and acai berry extracts, it also delivers intensive nourishment deep down into the dermal layer. Upon application, it gradually raises the skin temperature up to 36.5 Celcius to open up pores and, and visibly draws out dirt and congestion to dramatically brightens and softens skin.

How To Use:  After cleansing the skin, apply a thick layer of the cream onto the skin. Wait 10 to 15 minutes and you will feel a slight warm tingle across your skin. Thoroughly rinse with lukewarm water.

Key Ingredients:  strawberry, acai berry, witch hazel, bamboo grass, licorice, aloe, willow, mulberry, pistachio nuts

A.H.C. Aqua Memory Cream  The last AHC product I received was a denatured alcohol drenched SERUM in The Next Best Thing in Skincare.  Let’s see what this product is all about….This is a very thick and I mean, thick gel.  I can turn this product upside down and nothing will fall out!!  Memory indeed!  This is a lovely gel and is so refreshing and cool, with a fresh scent.

I ran the ingredient list thru and found no major triggers so this is a nice gel for my skin type.   It has eggplant extracts in it, which I think this is a first for me!  I don’t believe I have tried a skincare product with eggplant in it before.  AHC Aqua Memory Cream also has melon, ivy gourd, white cedar, Thai holy basil and red seaweed.  But the most interesting ingredient is pseudoalteromonas ferment extract ~ which is a bacteria found in the mud on King George Island in the Antarctica

Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract is a strain of bacteria isolated from mud found on King George Island in Antarctica. According to, it is a peptide that is classified as a protein derivative, and contains the following three amino acid residues: glycine, histidine and lysine. It is used in a number of anti-aging products because of its ability to regenerate and protect the skin by retaining moisture and water, heal wounds, increase collagen and elastin production, and improve hydration.  from

Shara Shara Green Tea Cooling Stick  I received the Lemon Tea Pore Stick in My Desserts box and I really like it, so I am happy to see its “mate” show up in this box.  This is a great little item to tuck away in your purse and use to help with dry or sensitive areas.  I actually like using this under my eyes to help cool and refresh them and you can also use it on your lips and cheeks.   This Cooling Stick is made with hyaluronic acid, mineral-rich glacier water and green tea extracts.  You can use this before or after you apply makeup, as you just gently dab it on and it is a clear gel stick.  Full Size 5.5 g Value $12.00

Zonskin Special Scalp Essence  I actually like these types of hair products as they seem to be formulated for oily hair and scalps, which I have.  This is an organic scalp essence, which contains human stem cell culture proteins,  that will strengthen hair by clearing away excess oil and dead skin cells.   This is a spray-on leave-in essence and can be applied to wet or dry.   Zonskin is a famous Korean Medicine Clinic and they look to have designed their own product line to help treat patients. Deluxe Size 20 mL Value $12.00

Product Description: This is spray-type liquefied essence developed by ZONSKIN for scalp care. It contains  human stem cell culture protein, polyphenol, and oriental plant extracts that strengthens scalp and controls oil.  It will strengthens hair, boosts hair growth, and prevents hair loss.  Polyphenol Essence/Natural cosmetics.  ZONSKIN Special Scalp Essence is approved by KFDA for scalp care and anti-alopecia care.  No Skin irritation

I am pretty pleased with my Hot & Cool Memebox.   I was envisioning a Hallabong product from The Yeon, but all in all, this is nicely curated, with a mix of heating and cooling products.  To my delight, there are more cooling products than heating 🙂  I really am excited to try out the A.H.C. Aqua Memory Cream, Shara Shara Green Tea Cooling Stick and the Zonskin Scalp Essence.  I do not know if Memebox ran out of products for really dry skin types, but this box and the Garden of Eden (review coming soon!) are designed for those of us with oily – combo-oily skin ~ for which I am very grateful for.  AND none of these products are expiring any time soon!

I paid $29.00 + $6.99 in shipping, for a total of $35.99 ~ I am sure I had Memepoints and this box was much less ~ and received a MemeValue ** of $107.00.  ** What is MemeValue?  It is my term to describe the value that Memebox puts on the products, which can be very over inflated.  You can usually find these products at a lesser cost, so I do suggest researching first if you wish to purchase them.

    1. I hope they do as well ~ I don’t think these were part of any restocks from Black Friday or the 1st day of Christmas, correct? I hope to get my Garden of Eden review up tomorrow – it is also a really nice box. I just wanted to focus today on some of my other subs that I’ve been neglecting! haha
