Live Botanical Apothecary Collection

Live Botanical is one of my favorite herbal beauty brands for several years now.  I started my journey with them with their cult classic AER Blue Tansy + Babassu Balancing Whipped Oil (review) and I have faithfully added more pieces each year to my collection.   This year, I had the opportunity to try out their gift boxes and I chose the 9 piece Apothecary Collection.  It is truly stunning and the perfect gift for the person who appreciates herbalism and rituals, with personal stories.

I received these products complementary to review and was not paid.  All reviews are my own honest opinion and  I never have been asked to write copy for a brand.  This blog post might contain promo codes, affiliate and referral links, which using my links will help generate a small commission that helps support my blog at no extra cost to you.

This Limited Edition Collection contains 4 body care products , 2 herbal tisanes and 3 artisan crafted products.  It is a $285.00 value, now selling for $240.00.  You can use my affiliate coupon of COLEBIANCARDI15 to save an additional 25% off!  Get ready to pamper yourself.   The packaging on these products is just stunning.  It reminds me of William Morris, a British textile designer who was one of the major artists during the Arts and Crafts movement.

Start with Flower Crown Scalp Renewal Oil ~ full of nourishing oils and herbs, such as willow bark and rosemary, to help cleanse your scalp while eliminating dryness and buildup.  This is a pre-cleanse treatment, to be applied to your dry scalp, gently massage it in and leave in for 10-15 minutes.  While you are at it, add a few drops to honey and apply to your face for a clarifying facial mask.  Make sure to shake the bottle first ~ this has a wonderful herbal scent with bergamot, ylang ylang, lavender and frankincense.    3.4 oz

After your bath, take some time to nourish your skin

Orange & Cottonwood Hydramist is one of my favorite products from this collection is this hydro-distillation of blood orange and cottonwood.  This has a great spray mist, it isn’t a weak mister at all!  This is just wonderful and not only does this hydrate, it soothes and helps to detox your skin, lessening congestion.   2 oz

Forest Wanderer Mending Oil is a wonderful body oil, which I need all of the nourishment during this dry winter season.  This does have rose in it, but I don’t really smell it ~ the berries and woodsy pine and cedar shine thru this lovely oil that can also be used as a massage oil, soothing sore muscles as well as a meditative anointing oil.  Again, the packaging on these oils is wonderful ~ heavy glass with beautiful design labels. 2 oz

Now, it is time for tea and honey and this collection contains 2 tisanes and 3 honeys, plus some handcrafted surprises.

Quietude Herbal Tisane is made with calming chamomile, lavender and feverfew ~ feverfew is great for reducing inflammation and also can reduce the pain from cramping during periods.  This tea can also be used as a topical poultice for sore muscles.  I love the light herbal taste.   1 oz yields 12 to 16 eight oz cups of tea.  These herbs come from Live Botantical herbal gardens or are wild-harvested.

A trio of Queen’s Bounty Artisan Honey using raw honey from bees around  Eugene, Oregon. Beekeepers Scott and JJ harvested their honey and produced 3 different varieties in this collection ~ Blackberry (my favorite) is a rich deep berry honey, ForestFlower is made with woodland flowers and is bright and zesty ~ this has a lot of pollen at the bottom of the jar too ~ and finally Wildflower is a reddish amber honey made with local wildflower pollen.  All of the honeys contain live enzymes, suspended pollen and is 100% raw honey with no added sugar or corn syrup.

The two delightful surprises in here are items that can be used with your tea and honey. Handcrafted by Yolanda Chih-Jou Chiu, this lovely  copper tea spoon is perfect for measuring out teas and spooning out the honey.  Yolanda was born in Taipei, Taiwan and has an impressive career as a fashion graphic designer, her own jewelry studio and now uses her fashion and graphic design experience into her metal pieces.

A brass wire tea strainer, inspired by Japanese wire knitting, a tradition that dates back over 1000 years ago to the Heian period.  The wire is handwoven to create the kiku-dashi or  chrysanthemum pattern, and then a fine brass mesh is laid over the larger wires.  A beautiful piece of art that is functional!

The Apothecary Collection by Live Botanical is one of the most thoughtful and beautiful gift boxes I have ever received.  Not only are the products just stunning to look at, they are useful and effective. Live Botanical even makes sure that most of their products, including the shipping materials are biodegradable.  Even the protective covers on the spoon and tea strainer are plastic free and can be composted.  Everything here can either be recycled or repurposed.   I am proud to be part of the Live Botanical family and share their beautiful, handcrafted and thoughtful products with you.  This collection is on sale right now (click here) ~ plus you can use my affiliate code of COLEBIANCARDI15 to get an additional 25% off the sale price.
