What’s In Your Aroma Box?
This month’s theme is “Digestion Box“, focusing on scents that will help calm your tummy, soothe and relieve digestive discomfort, stimulate digestion and help with nausea. I was thrilled to bits to find out that this was this month’s box, as I have IBS, so I do have digestive issues and a delicate tummy.
All of the essential oils, unless otherwise noted, have a screw top lid and there is a plastic lid inside that has a tube, so that you don’t spill out all of your oil if you drop the bottle (and it doesn’t break). I also like that the oils are in dark cobalt blue glass bottles to help protect them from UV rays and light.
Tangerine Pure Essential Oil This oil is 100% natural and and vegan ~ Tangerine is used to help stimulate your digestive system and also help calm you as well. It is used with other carrier oils to create a massage oil that will help break down pockets of fat and cellulite when mixed with fennel. All I know is that this little bottle is full of a warm and sparkling tangerine scent. It is not fake or over the top, but just right ~ think of the scent you smell when you are peeling a tangerine ~ this is it! Unless I note otherwise, all oils are bottled in the USA. 10mL RV $5.20
Description: Internally, tangerine oil may be used as a digestive stimulant and for all sorts of digestive problems. Externally, tangerine oil is traditionally used in various carrier oils as a massage oil to break down cellulite and pockets of fat, as it may help to stimulate lymphatic drainage, especially when mixed with fennel. Traditionally used to reduces stretch marks and as a muscle relaxant with calming and sedative properties. Try blending Tangerine together with marjoram and ylang ylang when you feel anxious and worried.

Black Pepper Pure Essential Oil Believe or not, black pepper really helps with digestive issues. One of my favorite tummy soothing teas is Yogi Ginger and it not only contains ginger, licorice, lemongrass and peppermint, but black pepper too! Black pepper helps give this tea a bit more warmth and kick and it is one of my favorites.
So, I wasn’t surprised to see a Black Pepper oil in a digestive box. It really helps with nausea and pain, which I get at times when I have a bad IBS attack. This doesn’t really smell like pepper to me straight out of the bottle, but when I put it on a cotton pad and let it sit, I can smell the pepper undertones ~ this is a very warm scent with a bit of spiciness behind it. I am excited to try this out in my diffuser as I have never heard of a black pepper oil before! 5mL RV $8.43
Description: Traditionally black pepper has been known to be warming and stimulating and has been used to increase energy. As a single essential oil or in formulas black pepper may be helpful for pain, poor circulation, poor muscle tone, chills, catarrh, ear aches, loss of appetite, nausea, colds and flu infections.

Coriander Pure Essential Oil Ahhh, coriander or as I like to refer to it ~ Cilantro! This is one of my favorite herbs in cuisine and it is pretty fun to have it in an essential oil. This is a mild herbaceous green scent ~ very fresh but warm. It helps with stimulating digestion and relieving digestive discomforts, such as nausea, indigestion, upset stomach and so on. This really smells nice and one of the tips in this month’s brochure recommends adding it to an unscented carrier oil (like jojoba or argan), along with the tangerine oil and dab it on your wrists and pulse points when you need a boost of self confidence. Once again, I will remind my readers that essential oils are powerful, so if you do apply them directly to your skin, please add them to a carrier base, like jojoba or argan oil, or dilute them with copious amounts of water. 10mL RV $7.40
Description: Sweet, warm and spicy, known for its carminative, sedative, antispasmodic, tonic and regenerative properties. Helps with nausea, indigestion and upset stomach. Coriander encourages good memory, confidence, and optimism.

Tummy Soother Roll On I really enjoy getting the custom roll on blends in these boxes ~ it totally pulls the curation theme together at the end! This blend will help with your digestive system and contains a slew of essential oils that I already recognize as instrumental in helping me when I have tummy problems ~ ginger, anise, fennel, chamomile, peppermint, black pepper, just to name a few. The first scents I smell are fennel and anise ~ those are powerful scented plants to begin with and I love the scent ~ it is so soothing and if you love licorice, you will love this tummy roll-on. You massage the oil on your stomach and you might feel a tingling sensation within a few minutes ~ this is normal. Do not use this on sensitive areas, such as around your eyes and mouth. RV $12.95
Ingredients: 100% Pure Essential Oils of Ginger, Coriander, Anise, Fennel, Lemon, Cardamom, Caraway, Chamomile, Black Pepper, Peppermint and Nutmeg, in a base of Pure Golden Jojoba Oil.
Suggested Use: Massage a small amount of oil on affected area as desired. Tingling may occur within 3 – 5 minutes. Avoid sensitive areas such as the eyes and mouth.
Herb Stop also included an “Digestive Ease Blend” recipe to add to your diffuser, using the oils in this month’s box ~ 3 drops Coriander, 2 drops Tangerine and 1 drop Black Pepper ~ add this to your diffuser during your meal and the scent will help you digest your food better. They also have included a promo code to save 15% off any of the oils featured in this month’s box ~ use ABM16.
This is so great ~ I love that black pepper is in here as it is truly an unsung hero when it comes to aiding with tummy problems! Tangerine is a lovely bright scent, coriander is a surprising one for me in here and the Tummy Soother roll on will take up residence in my purse, as this will be so convenient to have on hand when I have stomach issues. Plus it SMELLS great, so no one will think ~ oh, she is having gas again or something like that ~ hahaha I paid $19.99 for this and received a value of almost $34.00, which is a great deal for 100% natural oils and a custom blend by Herb Stop. If you are interested in subscribing, you can do so here and use promo code BFFM15 to receive 15% off your first box!
I wonder what they will have in next month’s box? I will have to stalk them on Instagram now! Have you signed up for Herb Stop’s essential oil box? Are you interested in doing so? I think this is a great idea.
